[ sword mafia at home. ]
nourishment for swords!
He offers Kashuu a grin in response to the answer, though, and heads into the kitchen. Although, he has to pause as he eyes the mugs and bowls, resisting the urge to comment on them. For now, anyways, as he goes to set the bag he'd loaded up with food onto the floor for the meantime. He has to roll and tie up the sleeves of his yukata, after all. ]
Just figured making you guys food would be a good way of showing gratitude for the, uh, impromptu invite that Mutsu tossed at me. [ Read as: you weren't wrong, Kashuu. ]
now they'll never leave him alone
That's super nice of you! And food's always good to have when there are so many mouths to feed, yeah? [Even if they don't actually need to eat...
THAT SAID:] So that guy was the one who found you first, huh? I'm kinda surprised... I thought it'd be Haruji again. What's your name?
that's not so bad really
I popped in a bit earlier to look around, see a few people. Kind of got a headcount, so yeah - I'd say there's a lot of mouths to feed. [ If you can eat, then you should be able to eat good food!
A philosophy everyone should have. But he just nods an affirmative at Mutsu being the one to bring in a stray. ] We met in ViViD when I showed up. I'm Shinonome Kon.

We keep getting more, too. [But he doesn't sound particularly fussed about that... He's the sort of sword who loves being surrounded by people, after all. A loud and crowded apartment is much, much better than an empty and quiet one.]
He's been around a while, so he's a good sword to run into. [Unlike SOME who would just be equally lost (or intentionally misleading Tsurumaru.] Good to meet you, though! I'm Kashuu Kiyomitsu.

Considering everyone's spread out over a couple of apartments, that's not so bad. [ And if half of them are even as friendly as Mutsu had been, then he's not shocked in the least bit. As someone who was generally a loner outside of Amatsuki, it's going to be interesting, but not bad. ]
Good to meet you, too, Kashuu. [ He grins a little, looking up from where he's pulling things out of the bag now that he's set up. ] Are you one, too, then? Mutsu said that there were a lot of tsukumogami here.

You're right, you're right! It'd be nice if things could be like they were back at the Citadel, but a lot of rooms here isn't bad either. [They'll just stage a slow takeover, no big deal.
That gets a nod, though! Kashuu puffs out his chest a little, hand coming to rest on the hilt of his vessel.]
Mmhm! Only about half of us are here right now, but that's still like, nearly twenty.

What's the Citadel? [ Sure does make it sound like somewhere that would encourage a slow takeover, but at least he's bribing his way into their hearts with food now.
Eyes dropping down from Kashuu to the food again, he can't help the small, amused look he gives the vegetables he pulls out and puts up on the counter from his crouch. But he chances a glance up to the sword in understanding before he's back to sorting. ]
As somebody that's really interested in the historical aspect of what you all are, I gotta say I really lucked out to have even twenty of you around.

That's where we lived back home! It was just a big citadel- [Just literally a whole dang citadel because they had a lot of swords] -but since there were so many of us, it wasn't ever really quiet.
[That seems to pique his interest, though. He's never really thrilled to run into people who are super interested in history considering "the sword that broke at Ikedaya" isn't a flattering or pleasant way to be remembered, and that's how most everyone does remember him, but Kon's been pleasant enough so far. At the very least, he seems tactful. Curiously:]
Hm? Are you some kinda sword history buff, then? Are you a collector?
no subject
So I guess being spread out over three apartments isn't much to you guys. [ Imagining a citadel full of so much history is really piquing his curiosity, to be honest, but there's a time in a place for those fifty questions.
He rocks to stand up from his crouch smoothly, though pauses before he starts to do his knifework, cocking his head a little at the questions. Well, there's no point in giving a half-truth on this particular subject, considering he doesn't make a point of hiding his intelligence when there's nothing to gain from it. The swords? Kon's mostly here because he's interested in their history, and their masters. ]
More of just a history buff in general, really. I'm interested mostly in the Edo period, though there's bleedover into the Meiji era for obvious reasons. But there's a lot of history in swords that gets missed or messed with because of all the debate historians have about what's fact and what's not, so this is kind of amazing.

[Which he's quite pleased by! The more the merrier or something, right? Right. He shifts a little when Kon moves upright again, trotting over to the side of the counter he's working on to watch a little more closely. Maybe he'll offer to lend a hand... eventually...]
Ooh, I see, I see. That's pretty rare! [Finding someone who's just interested in history that much.] I was forged in the Edo period, y'know. If there's stuff you wanna talk about, I can probably tell you a little! [Meiji, not so much, but there are plenty of other swords who can step in to fill that gap.]
Y'know, I bet you'd love talking to Mikazuki or Imanotsurugi, too. [OLDASS NATIONAL TREASURES.] Actually, all of our Sanjou swords are here. Iwatooshi, Kogitsunemaru, Ishikirimaru...

As Kashuu settles in closer, he reaches to get a knife, halving and dismantling peppers with practiced ease despite the limited use of his right hand. He's not really thinking about it as he works, so when he actually uses it it doesn't really register to him. Especially given the conversation at the moment. ]
Learning from history is how we build our future. [ He shrugs with a crooked grin, but visibly perks. ] Really? I'd appreciate it sometime, actually - whenever, and whatever you'd want to talk about. I'm just curious about what things were like for you guys, and maybe what your masters were like if you're okay with talking about that.
[ There's a heavy dose of if you're not, that's fine, because even a guy like Kon who sticks his nose in where it doesn't belong and generally doesn't spare feelings so that he can get answers isn't... That's different, in a way. He knows what happened to a lot of the swordsmen of the Edo period, the deaths they suffered, but he wants to know about their lives more than anything else.
Hearing that there's older swords around makes him all the more curious, and his grin spreads a little more. ] Guess I got lucky when Mutsu found me in ViViD, then.

[He's a grandpa who has trouble keeping track of the time, apparently... That said, he'll shift his attention between Kon's work and Kon himself, interested in a quiet sort of way.]
That's true. [HM. It's a rare mentality to see, though. This guy is just a rare sort of guy, huh?
He'll meet the grin with a smile of his own, either way; maybe it would have faltered a little more strongly at the mention of previous masters, but he can also read the reassurance below the words. He's being courteous, and that just earns him more points in Kashuu's book.]
Sure, sure, I don't mind. Maybe after we're all done eating? Or we can chat while you work - whichever! I got plenty of time. [No work shifts on the weekends, no CERES doing CERES things to interrupt them, it's all good!]
He's got an okay track record for finding good people. [Haru's track record is somewhat ruined because he brings Actual Weirdos home sometimes...] Are you gonna be sticking around, then?
no subject
[ Time is probably weird to spirits that come from a time long gone, so he doesn't fuss too much over it. Just keeps working, aware of Kashuu's eyes on him as he starts to julienne the peppers. ]
I can multitask, if you're going to hang out in here with me while I work. [ Kon figures it gives him a chance to pick what he wants to talk about, anyways, especially when there's fewer people around at the moment. Less outside influence or interruptions, and if he dips into anything remotely personal it'd be easier to pretend not to notice a change in topics. Then again, they live with each other - they're probably aware of what's to be left alone already.
Looking up as he switches vegetables, he can't help his snort. ] Little bit amused about how okay everyone is with me just showing up out of nowhere, but you're all a bunch of sword spirits, so I can see why there's not too much concern. [ He tilts his head, though. ] I think I might, actually.
no subject
[Because time is definitely weird to ye olde spirits, but Kashuu is younger than most of them and Cerealia is An Experience™ so it still seems like its been a while, even so. As for that:]
You don't mind? [He says, like he has any intention of actually leaving... Kon seems fine with having an audience, though! And if he can multitask well enough to julienne vegetables while holding a conversation, that works just fine for Kashuu.] Then you can ask what you want, 'kay?
[And as far as dragging home strangers goes...] Yeah, it's not like we can't handle things if someone brings home a real weirdo. [But he actually trusts everyone enough to figure anyone they bring home is an a-ok person, more or less!] You seem fine, so I'm glad! Hopefully it won't be too loud for you.
