[ sword mafia at home. ]

He's only just slipped outside the flat where he stays to wander aimlessly about for a while, but when he passes the door to one of the other sword flats, there's that noise. Blinking a bit in surprise, he lets himself inside, steering in the direction of the kitchen since that seems to be the room that is lit.
He stops in the doorway, blinking in surprise, and then has to cover his mouth with his sleeve because something in the air is causing him to choke and he really doesn't want a coughing fit right now.]
Oh dear. What happened?

...These machines, [he said, flicking a wary glance over at the still-sparking microwave.] The people responsible for this city didn't give us proper instruction on how to operate them.
[How was he to know that the machine would explode?!]

Ah, don't worry about it. I know I had some embarrassing little mishaps in the beginning while trying to use the machines here.
[None quite as impressively dramatic as this, but he's definitely managed to start a minor fire at one point. He pads over to the microwave and wraps his sleeve around his hand before quickly pulling the plug.]
I take it that you don't have things like this at home either?

[He frowned at the microwave before moving to find some towels to sop the mess up. His uncertainty with the word 'electricity' was obvious-- as if the concept were almost entirely foreign to the man.
At least, in this form.]
Forgive me for disturbing you. I couldn't sleep, so I thought I would try to recreate one of the traditional remedies of a kingdom to the west of my country. Clearly, that didn't work very well.

I knew about as much as you do about it coming here, I imagine. I've just been lucky to have people to teach me.
[Unasked, he fills up the pot with milk and turns on the stove.]
And I couldn't sleep either. If you don't mind, perhaps if I heat up the milk this way, you could make enough for the both of us?

[He started looking through the cupboards for a jar of honey and another container of turmeric. A plastic bottle was found instead...and turmeric was not a common spice in general, so not finding another container was unsurprising.]
Milk and honey will have to suffice for now. I'll need to visit the market tomorrow to replace the rest.

[Happily it's at least breathable now, which is nice because it's hard to heat up milk if you're bent over and wheezing. He gives the pot a speculative look, and then brightens up.]
Well, if you keep an eye on the milk, I could just go borrow what's needed from the kitchen in the other flat. [A small, slightly teasing smile.] I promise this one doesn't actually blow up or anything. The worst you can do is burn yourself. [How comforting.]

[He offered a short bow of gratitude toward the slender young man for all of his help, before casting a quizzical look at the milk in the pot. How was one supposed to boil milk again?]
