[ All things considered, this is not the strangest thing that he's done today. Kon had a conversation with a robot earlier, and then met a sword spirit before being sent to an apartment full of them. So, talking fox - why not? ]

I might be, everyone's been pretty welcoming so far. [ He dips his head a little as he snorts at the robofox. ] Shinonome Kon. It's nice to meet you, too.

[yaayaa]

Shinonome-sama, then! This is Nakigitsune, and I am an accompanying fox.

[The robofox yips, as if to say "Don't forget me!" but the only reaction it gets is Naki reaching up to pet it.]

[ Shinonome-sama... well, that's a new one. But he just blinks in obvious surprise at the honorific, before just... moving along. He's not sure if it would be good form to correct a fox on that kind of thing, so. ]

Like I said - nice to meet you. All three of you. [ Yes, you too, robofox. ] Have you been here long, then?

[Hey, we may be overly accepting of strangers, but stranger status is still a thing! Overly polite fox has rules he's gotta follow.]

Aahh, we've been here....a few months, I think? It was somewhere around early winter when we first arrived. [It's hard to get used to actually paying attention to time when you've been largely ignoring it for nine centuries.

Meanwhile, Naki has now taken robofox off his head and into his arms. While staring curiously at Kon.]

[ Kon can't say he's too surprised that they're adjusting to keeping track of time, but he just comes in properly so that he can lean his hip on the side of the couch. ]

That's not too bad, and now that it's hitting spring it must be better. [ You know, small woodland creatures in winter and all that.

The invitation to ask more questions is just the kind of thing he's always happy to hear, though he shrugs his shoulders. He talks to the both of them, despite the fact that the fox is the one answering him directly. ]

If you don't mind me asking - are you part of the tsukumogami, too?

[Smallest fox waves his tail at that, chancing only a short glance at the happily cuddling robofox before focusing on conversation. He's a working fox! No distractions!

....Gonna climb onto Naki's shoulder first though.

Nakigitsune here is the tsukumogami of an uchigatana forged in the Kamakura Period! I am simply a fox that has attached myself to his vessel. [A pause.] And this other fox was a gift we received while living here.
