[ dressed in an oversized cardigan and jeans that are a little too big for him, haru probably doesn't look like much-- especially with that pink in his hair. still, he nods at the introduction and following question. ]

It's nice to meet you, too, Shinonome-san. [ haru's a little too polite at first, but he usually warms up quick. ] And I am, yes. Not a very good one yet, but I do my best. [ there's a pause, pale eyes flicking over kon thoughtfully. ] If you're going to be staying.. [ he crooks a finger over his mouth thoughtfully. ] .. If you don't mind a roommate, I think maybe.. Tanuki-san.

[ Maybe he doesn't look like much, but Kon just thinks of Toki - or, well, a much smaller Toki. Haru's probably barely touching 5' and yet he's going to go ahead and wager that he's packing way more punch than he gives himself credit for. ]

You don't need to use honorifics with me. [ Plenty of people call him Shinonome, but he's far too casual to generally care what they use. In this case, though, he pegs it as a personal thing. ] He seemed pretty happy, so seems to me like you're doing a good job. [ Kon stands there with his arm still tucked into the overlap fold of his yukata, letting him look him over. ] I don't mind a roommate at all, if you guys really are extending an invitation. So long as they don't mind, either.

Ah.. [ haru looks a little awkward for a moment--despite his expression not actually changing?--before his eyes flick away, flustered. ] Sh-Shinonome..-kun, then. [ sorry, that's the best he can do right now.. He Tried.

he glances back up, still flustered, the tops of his ears a little red. ] I'm glad he did. I try to make sure they're all happy here. As much as I can, anyway. [ especially since once they go home--if they can get home--they'll be going back to a war.

still, he shakes his head, gesturing kon closer and then pointing to one of the bedroom doors. ] It'll be good for Tanuki-san to have a roommate again. He was rooming with Naga-san, but.. he left a while ago. [ there's a silent, solemn moment, but then he glances up at kon again. ] --Sorry, his name is Dotanuki. Please, um.. don't call him Tanuki, he doesn't like it when other people do it.

[ Kon can't really help the small snort that he lets out, but it's not a mean one, and instead he just smiles a little bit in reassurance. Maybe his expression doesn't change, but it's pretty obvious to him. ] That's fine.

[ Maybe he'll warm up? Who knows, but he just moves on even if the flush of color on his ears is kind of amusing and adorable. Reminds him of teasing Toki and Kuchiha. ] Maybe I'm new and I can't talk much - [ except he sticks his nose where it doesn't belong on the regular, don't kid them Kon ] - but the way things are, you guys must be pretty happy to want to extend your hospitality to strangers the way he did.

[ He shrugs, but then moves as indicated, leaning a little and looking down where Haru points. But what gets his attention is the correction, and he huffs a small laugh as he looks down at him. ] Dotanuki, then. He another tsukumogami?

[ if anything, haru's blush gets worse, and he shrugs a little. ] I just like to help people out, I guess, and some of my swords do the same thing. [ or they've picked it up from him. either's possible.

still, his embarrassment is forgotten as the subject shifts to dotanuki. he nods, tucking a few strands of hair behind an ear. ] He's Dotanuki Masakuni. He's actually one of a series of mass-produced blades that were very popular in the Sengoku period. [ he glances up at kon again, mouth twitching down into a tiny frown. ] He thinks he isn't worth as much as the others because of that, but I'm working on making him understand that he's just as important to me.

[ a beat, then he clears his throat. ] Um. Anyway, he's a little rough around the edges and he has a few scars, but he's a great person, and he's nicer than he lets on.

[ Oh, this is going to be fun. But Kon figures that he ought to leave off teasing him too badly upon first meeting. ] Not a bad way to be, in theory.

[ Not something he's ever really done, unless he's clicked with a person. But he has a feeling that he's in for an interesting stay here, so he can't really pass judgement just yet. Besides, there's a sword spirit to talk about, and he rubs his chin thoughtfully with the outside edge of his thumb. ] I remember that, when they were considered easily replaceable for a while? [ He hums, low disapproval and understanding all at once. ]

Don't worry, rough around the edges doesn't really put me off. And I'll avoid talking too much about his history, so that I don't offset what you're trying to do with him.

[ haru sighs quietly. ] Mm, some people tell me I'm too trusting. [ then why haven't you taken their advice, haru.. ] But honestly, look at who I live with. Between all the overprotective swords and Pitch-san, I don't think anyone would try to hurt me. Or them.

[ because they'd get carved up like a christmas goose and then turned into a nightmare... probably.

still, he glances back up again, bobbing a small nod. ] Thanks, Shinonome-kun. I mean, not that I'm trying to limit your conversation options with him or anything, just.. he's so stubborn. [ ugh. ]

[ Kon shrugs at that. ] There are people who would try, though you're right, they wouldn't meet much success considering there's so many of them. [ An army and a Pitch, but he'll learn what that means later.

This is, of course, assuming that CERES doesn't send something in here to do the job for them. They brought them here in the first place, they're bound to have something up their sleeves. ]

Nah, I get it. [ He waves his hand. ] I'm interested in learning more about them, both as people and what it meant to be carried by such historical figures before they met you, but I'm not really interested in bringing up bad memories.
