[closed] everyone was watching you as everything just slipped away
Who: Akane Tsunemori (
condoner), and friends.
When: 17 April (IC)
Where: The Chilling Cave
What: The Psycho-Pass cast (and then some) go ice skating.
Rating/Warning: Warning for Gino's sadness.
[ upon kogami's suggestion, akane's taken it upon herself to find a suitable (ha ha) way of celebrating her 23rd birthday! she found the chilling cave by coincidence while patrolling the streets once and decided that she wants to try ice skating.
so after texting the guys (brother, mom, and dad), as well as a couple of friends (really, it's just a couple. she doesn't have much friends) if they're free on the 17th, she waits outside the chilling cave, hoping to meet up with her friends.
it's time… to chill! ]

You're upset. I said some things I shouldn't have.
[ Hurting Ginoza wasn't his intention. He wants to blame it on the books, but that seems like a cop out. No doubt it would infuriate his friend even more. ]
no subject
You're really going to bring this up here?
[ He's trying so hard not to upset Akane on her birthday. ]
no subject
[ AS IF THERE'S A GOOD TIME FOR THIS. ]
no subject
It's Tsunemori's birthday. [ He doesn't want to have this conversation. Kogami will inevitably touch a nerve and he'll lose his temper. ]

Gino stops with a sharp scrape of his skates, fingers curling into fists at his sides. ]
In case you hadn't noticed, it's been like this for a while. [ (Maybe if you hadn't been so occupied with your revenge—) ]

[ They're doing great. ]
no subject
[ That took about thirty seconds. Almost a record. ]
Besides, you were top of the class, Shinya. I'm sure you'll think of something. [ Could this be any more snide? ]
no subject
[ Back to this issue, are we... ]
no subject
[ what the fuck ]
Quit messing around and get to the point, if you even have one.
no subject
You're holding something against me that I can't change, so that's the response you deserve.
no subject
[ Ugh, why did he even engage in this conversation. ]
no subject
I'd like to know what you want.
no subject
[ Wrong thing to say, Kogami. ]
What I want is impossible.
no subject
At least we agree on one thing, Gino, what you want isn't possible. There are no do-overs in life.
no subject
A habit he's ground into himself, because assuming the worst meant he couldn't be more disappointed. ]
And what do you want, Shinya?
no subject
Did you mean what you said about me being a mistake?
[ Has he really caused him so much grief even as far back as highschool? When he was top of the class, something he never even aimed for? He feels responsible enough for the man's Psycho-Pass deteriorating over time... ]
no subject
Gino's silent for a while, words sticking at the back of his throat. There's a weight on his chest and he feels like he can't breathe it out. The hurt part of himself wants to say yes, to just explode all over again.
Too bad there are still good memories from a time that almost doesn't seem real anymore. ]
If you are, it's because I'm an idiot. Since apparently, I was only riding on your coattails in Division One's success.
[ Not that he worked hard to get there. To become Inspector, like he said he would. ]
no subject
[ If anything, Kogami ruined the division's reputation in the end. He knew that even as he decided to leave them. Of course, since these are grown men who can't have an actual conversation, the words that really need to be said go unsaid. ]
no subject
Of course. I've never been right my entire life. Thanks for pointing that out.
[ Naturally, the words that should've been said probably would've smoothed this over. Instead, he's suddenly in motion, skating away from Kogami hurriedly and heading for the exit. He's had enough of this. ]
no subject
[ Oh, great, Ginoza is retreating again. Kogami doesn't follow, but he does speak up loud enough for others to hear him, even if the other man may not as he leaves. ]
--yeah, run off again! Do you even know who you're becoming?!
[ ... There's no answer. Ginoza has left. ]
[ The answer was Shinya Kogami. ]
