[ upon kogami's suggestion, akane's taken it upon herself to find a suitable (ha ha) way of celebrating her 23rd birthday! she found the chilling cave by coincidence while patrolling the streets once and decided that she wants to try ice skating.

so after texting the guys (brother, mom, and dad), as well as a couple of friends (really, it's just a couple. she doesn't have much friends) if they're free on the 17th, she waits outside the chilling cave, hoping to meet up with her friends.

[It's not surprising to see Akane headed back out onto the ice. She's pretty good out there, because of course she is. Aside from cooking, there doesn't seem to be a lot she can't do. He greets her with a wave of his own, and a smile, as she gets closer.]

I'm not a popsicle yet, don't worry. It's kind of fun when you make this a spectator sport too, that's all.

Well, as long as you're enjoying.

[ wow, who died and made her so concerned? whatever!!! everyone should be having fun, and not just her. it might be her birthday celebration, but she isn't going to let everybody else get bored just because they're doing something she likes. ]

You were laughing at Ginoza, weren't you?

I'm having a good time, really. Never been to a birthday thing, you know, outside, so this is a pretty awesome first one. You should be the one relaxing too, though.

[He laughs, shaking his head, but it's not entirely convincing.]

Me, laugh at Gino? What makes you think I'd do something like that? I mean, he's got skates on and he still just looks so serious.

I'm relaxing enough.

[ even though she has a headache and all. but no need to talk about that. ]

And don't let him hear you. He's trying his best, you know.

You say that, but you're not exactly giving off a really relaxed vibe. [It's okay to admit things, Akane!]

He always is, isn't he? I wouldn't laugh at him for that. Bobbing around on some skates is seriously fair game, though.

[But she's not getting out of things that easily.] So, aside from skating circles around everyone, what's on your mind?

To be honest, not a lot...

I can't seem to concentrate on work lately because I've been having headaches.

[endgamer]

Headaches? Like, from stress, or what? You always push yourself too hard, you know.

[condoner]

[ she shakes her head slowly. ]

I don't know... I've taken painkillers to alleviate the pain, but nothing is helping.
