Who: Stahn Aileron
majinken & YOU!!
When: ic: 4/18
Where: CERES Food Stop
What: Someone please help a sunshine mullet buy lunch for a fussy, picky teenager. He needs help. Help him.
Rating/Warning: None!
( Part I )
[the food stop continues to be an utterly fascinating place to stahn, because there are just so many options. many of them are things he's had before, or at least things he's heard of. but there are just as many, if not more things that he's never seen before. it makes the fact that he wanted to bring some lunch for leon... well, kind of a challenge. after standing around one of the food stalls puzzled for a bit, he goes off to the side, leaning against the wall of a noodle restaurant.]
Hey, Dymlos. [stahn has his sword in hand. is he talking to that sword? yes. yes, he's talking to his ornate sword. right there where people can see him. clearly, nothing can go wrong, right?] What should I get? It all looks so good, but...
["I'm a Swordian, not your caretaker! Decide for yourself what you want to eat!" ...for the very few capable of hearing the swordians (sword spirits and seraphim, primarily), they may realize that stahn's not totally crazy. dymlos is exasperated, even if he knows stahn is coming from a good place with this.]
You could at least try instead of getting so angry about it, geeze... you never change... [he probably looks crazy to most though, huh? talking to his sword, pouting and complaining, when there's clearly nobody else there. oops.]
( Part II )
[with dymlos being absolutely no help at all, stahn is taking to the streets! which really just means he's wandering the area, looking at different places... eating way, way too many samples. anybody who works in this area is free to notice him milling about, or trying to sell him on their products. he's got a healthy appetite, and he's looking to feed a second person too, so it shouldn't be too hard. but if that's not the case, then the passers-by will be his victims.]
Hey, excuse me! [he's calling for attention, maybe waving someone over. but he respects people's boundaries. if they're just standing around, he'll approach pretty calmly before continuing.] Sorry, do you have a minute? I could use a little help with something here...
[he laughs a little sheepishly, scratching his head. he needs help. so badly.]
( Part III; for
discard/
a_meebo )
[once he's finally settled on what to get for lunch, he makes his way to scoops 'n smiles to wait for leon's lunch break. in hand, he's two plastic bags filled to the top with food containers... okay, so maybe stahn went a little overboard. most of it isn't even for leon, considering it came as the result of trying too many delicious samples and not wanting to choose. but it's fine! he got something he's sure leon will like, and that's what matters, isn't it?
granted, he didn't tell leon he was coming. and he also doesn't want to disturb him while he's trying to work, so he's just... casually waiting around. not ordering ice cream and just kind of loitering. that's okay though, right? stahn sure doesn't mind waiting; someone has to make sure leon doesn't just eat his weight in ice cream for lunch, after all.]

Nobody can prove it if they can't see him!
He doesn't fail to notice Stahn loitering around when he comes out to the front. It looks like there's a floating lunch box coming towards the Swordian Master, though.]
Oh, hi Stahn, Dymlos. [Mikleo glances at the plastic bags.] Having lunch with Leon, I take it?
no subject
[when he hears that voice, his head whips around—but he doesn't see anyone? but it sounds like...]
Is that... Mikleo?
[dymlos can see mikleo, naturally, so... it's a little troubling that stahn apparently can't. it seems like his resonance isn't quite up to snuff yet; his senses are only used to hearing swordians, and it looks like that's carrying over. it'll take him a minute, but eventually his eyes will catch where the lunchbox is just... floating.]
Whoa! [yeah... he didn't expect that. he'll answer that question about leon in a second. you know, after they clear everything else up about this weird situation.]
no subject
Yeah, it's me carrying the lunchbox. Sorry for startling you like that, but at least you can still hear me.

pt i!
Hey! Are you guys looking for a place to eat?
[BECAUSE BOY does Kashuu have some options to set on the table for them. Too Many Options™.]
no subject
good, good.]
Mm, something like that! I wanted to bring lunch for a friend, but I don't really know what. He can be kind of picky sometimes... and there's a lot of choices here! [it's kind of overwhelming for a country bumpkin like stahn.]
no subject
But!! Since Kashuu is quiet sure he can help with that, he nods once and gestures widely outward toward the rows of food stalls nearby.]
There are! If you know somewhere to start, we can narrow it down by at least a little, and then I can show you where the best of the best is for whatever you're looking for, 'kay? So, like-- does he like noodles? Soup? Meat? Salty things, or maybe spicy? Tangy or sweet? Or d'you wanna surprise him with something totally new? Eh, but I guess that's kinda risky if he's a picky eater.

So right now, she's quite happily exiting the noodle place, plastic bag in hand, and...
.... Whaaaat? ]
Stahn? Are you having an argument with your sword?
no subject
Wh— ["Stahn!" yeah, yeah, he knows... he knows all too well, dymlos.]
Otome! I... [he laughs a bit awkwardly, ruffling his hair. right. it's always awkward when someone who doesn't know anything about the swordians questions this.] I don't think it's really an argument.
[great... cover...]

Because the sword seems to have won.

[give him a mo, he's busy 'debating' with an NPC about all the samples he's stuffed himself with. Again. He probably does this three times a week. He finally looks up when Stahn approaches, eyebrows raised]
If you want 'em, I say go for the bacon bits. They won't make you puke.
no subject
still, there is a more important question at hand here!]
Bacon bits? [what are those, he's never had them!] I've never even heard of them, but...
[how can anything with bacon be a bad thing?] They sound good!
no subject
[he indicates a tray of the stuff and true enough, its really...sloppy looking. How do you eat that? Are there sporks? Manly hand grabs?]

... Probably.
Jury's out, honestly, the temptation is eternally there.
Either way, Leon's grumpy about having to do menial labor like this, but doing the work is better than doing nothing; Leon has never really dealt well with long periods of having nothing to do. But he also generally doesn't deal with customers so long as someone else is there to (because Leon does not deal with customers well) so it takes him some time to reappear from the back.
And then he sees a sunshine mullet loitering there.
A sigh.]
Stahn. What are you doing here?
no subject
(as if he'd be anything but rude, get real here, stahn.)
of course, that doesn't actually faze him in the least. if anything, it's just the opposite—stahn brightens considerably when he sees leon there. and yes, he does take note the the apron somehow suits leon in aesthetics... incredible, really.
that's just a passing thought, because with a bright and radiant grin, he's holding up the two bags for leon to see.]
You have a lunch break today, right? I brought enough for both of us! [surprise, he's here to make sure leon eats properly. someone has to take care of these things, after all.]
no subject
More importantly, Leon just stares at the bags for a long, long moment.]
... Why? [???] I am more than capable of getting my own lunch.

regardless, he offers a grin. he's always glad to see a friend, after all.]
It's nothing too big! There's just so many places to choose from to eat, so I was hoping I could get a pointer in the right direction. [nothing serious at all, aside from the fact that deciding on lunch is very serious business... especially when it involves buying food for leon.]

Who never does? . . . The sword?
no subject
so naturally, being called on it surprises stahn, and it shows.]
Eh? Oh, haha.... [he's so bad at this, but fortunately, he has dymlos in his ear reminded him of a decent excuse. he reaches into his pocket and pulls out his cerevice, waving it a little.] That's all.

Oh, Stahn. Good afternoon. [ She nods slightly. ] What is it?
no subject
she does have that same sort of noble air to her that leon does, though she's obviously much kinder outwardly.]
Heheh, it's good to see you again too! [he waves his hand a little as a friendly gesture, because... well, it would be rude to just ask something of her like that, wouldn't it? but this makes it a bit easier.] I was just looking for some help with choosing a place to get lunch around here. There's so many places... it's kind of overwhelming.

I'm a little stuck on finding something good for lunch when there are so many options... [it's overwhleming and leon is picky.
flynn is probably the worst person to ask for advice on this matter.]
