a; earlier in the day (at the park)

[Yuu feels completely disoriented when he wakes up in the park again -- he feels like he's been gone for a while, but he can't really place why. He just remembered trying to get into the Research Tower, and then...nothing. Some memories of something unpleasant, but he can't really remember what.

Clearly that had meant that he had almost stumbled onto something, right? He'd just have to go back when he can, despite feeling a little like shit.

He's just going to sit there, rubbing his face for a minute, looking around when he thinks he sees something out of the corner of his eyes.]

Mika?! Mika!!

[Despite feeling like shit, he's going to get up pretty quickly and start running towards where he thought he saw him.

Except he's going to stop in his tracks when he sees someone else out of the corner of his eyes -- someone with black hair and a cocky grin.]

Guren!

[He'll either run into someone while he's trying to run after his People that he'll never catch, or he'll grab someone and then he'll sound totally crazy:]

Have you seen a blond guy my age or a stupid looking guy with black hair?? Or a girl with purple hair??

[They can't be just teasing him, right? He's generally pretty good at being able to decipher between reality and not, and he's got a bad feeling about it, so that's why he's asking whoever he can.]

b; later at night (near food and then the Research Tower)

[Finally, though, after so long chasing around ghosts, he's utterly exhausted. And by now he knows what they are -- ghosts. At some point he'd started thinking rationally (or someone had forced him into thinking rationally), with the fact that they weren't here.

It was almost crueler than anything Asuramaru or any other demons had done to him, because they had been right there, just out of reach.

Just when he was thinking that he hadn't seen anyone in a while, he sees Shinoa out of the corner of his eyes. But he doesn't jump this time, just tiredly keeps eating his fries outside of one of the fast food places around here, and he's trying not to let it bug him. It's difficult, though -- more difficult than it was at home, because at least at home he had his second family.

He was still alone here.

If nobody encounters him eating away his sorrows, they might pass him while he's standing outside of the Research Tower, glaring at it like he's going to fight it. He definitely wants to fight it, and the fact that they'd messed him up (or he assumes they messed him up) just makes him want to go back in more.

Stop him from fighting everybody, someone--]

But he shakes his head after a moment, because he's not going to let himself get sad for too long.]

[Yoichi appears out of the corner of his eyes, and he looks over quickly, as if on habit. But he figures that this guy wouldn't see him either.]

I bet it was those CERES guys.

[Asuramaru wouldn't do something like this while he was still awake...]

Yeah, I tried to get into the Research Tower...and I was suddenly here again and seeing things. That has to mean something was done to me, right?

which really just means that as he passes through the area and sees this kid giving a building a death glare (though, seeing as it's the research tower? he doesn't really blame anyone for that), he can't help but let out a snarky remark. which is followed up by an affirmative bark, since repede is at his side agreeing wholeheartedly.]

[He looks over at Yuri when he speaks up, and he recognizes him too. At least he won't bring up what...happened at the library...because that was embarrassing. And he also knows if that definitely wasn't him, that probably wouldn't be this guy either.]

I think I got close to something in there.

But I don't remember, because I lost three days in there somehow. I must've gotten close to something if they did something like that, right?

[Yuu glares at the research tower again, as if the building itself will do something to him. It bugs him that he doesn't remember his time in there (especially since the last time he had a blackout he had kinda gone nuts, but that was hopefully way different this time), but that doesn't mean he likes losing his days like that.]

I ended up waking up in the park earlier today, so...

[Does he mention what he's seeing? As if thinking about it brings it back up, he turns his head a little when he sees what seems to be Kimizuki out of the corner of his eyes.

He's really sick of this.]

--And I've been feeling kind of funny ever since. I don't know if I should go to one of the doctors here, though.

[that's something that immediately raises red flags. there's probably not much yuri can do to actually help, but he's curious. what exactly are they doing to people who cross them?

he'll probably find out for himself eventually, but having even a vague idea of what he may be in for if he goes that route would help. besides...]

May determine whether or not you should. Not sure I'd trust any of the native doctors with something cooked up by CERES, though.

I keep seeing my friends out of the corner of my eyes. I feel fine physically now, but I just keep seeing them.

[And it feels like such a slap in the face, because he's alone here and it's been the first time in such a long time that he's truly been alone. He had Mika, and then Guren when he felt alone the first time...but this time he doesn't have anyone. Of course, he could count the people he's meeting here, but isn't quite the same.

It hasn't been long, but he misses them.]

There's probably not much they can do for it anyway, right?

[Working at the hospital means he's pretty close to the Research Tower a lot. In fact he's gone in it once or twice but was pretty aware that making any trouble inside that building would only end poorly. Not that Jude ever would outside of being curious but that too would get a person in trouble there.

He's leaving the Research Tower right now when he passes Yuu. It's hard not to notice him. Not many people are out here this late. Not to mention the expression on his face gives Jude enough uneasiness to pause. He seemed pretty mad to say the least.

He offers a friendly smile as he gets Yuu's attention with a small wave of his hand.] Unless you work there I doubt they'll let you in this time of night. Security is pretty tight.

[He looks over at Jude when he waves at him, and at least his expression isn't as harsh when he shifts his gaze. He has no problem with Jude, at least.]

Well, judging by the way he said that he assumes he met with unfavorable results. Jude understands. He made the same mistake but was quick to bow his head and leave when ordered to.]

Yeah. Even with permission to enter they tend to funnel you to certain areas and keep you out of others. I don't think even working there gives you much freedom. [He pauses, considering. For him it had simply been idle curiosity but...]

[Jude wonders if he's a newer arrival. This place is starting to feel so weirdly normal to him that he often forgets that the new arrivals are still as lost and confused as ever.]

You shouldn't. There's no evidence it's the truth. [He left here once and went back home only to return some time later. So he definitely doesn't believe his world was destroyed at all.]

Well... I guess it's a possibility but considering the lengths they go through to keep everyone out I doubt they'd bring anyone in. [So he doubt Yuu's friends would be stuck in there. Hopefully.] So you shouldn't worry about that.
