[ after a text which turned into a call stating that the dragon is done, tadashi goes to bother his younger brother for some dragon fighting! they make a stop at tadashi's workshop first where he keeps the dragon - transformed into a giant metal box for portability - before heading to the park.

tadashi's more than excited now, because his invention is actually working, and his brother will be there to see it first hand! not just through a video! EVERYTHING IS AWESOME. and tadashi's very lucky that the androids working at the tech shop didn't decide to steal his dragon, too. really l u c k y.

the hamada brothers should be easy to spot in the park! especially with a giant dragon right in front of them. the dragon is currently in sleep mode, though, so it looks like it actually is sleeping. it's coiled up and lifeless.

for now, anyway. ]

[First of all, if the androids at the tech shop tried to steal Tadashi's invention, Hiro would have been incredibly pissed and probably would have beaten the crap out of them. Let's not have a repeat of the microbots incident, thank you. But thankfully it doesn't come to that and he's happily following alongside Tadashi as his older brother pushes the metal box toward the park. He's excited, a small bounce in his step as he's chattering at Tadashi about the specs of the dragon and how he can't wait to see the thing in action and Hawke won't know what hit her. It isn't long before they reach a good spot and soon Tadashi's with his dragon while Hiro's nearby, poking in the water of one of the fountains with a stick to see what sort of aliens he can draw up.

This is how you know he's in a good mood. When he actually acts his age he's comfortable and happy. He's impatient though and he looks back to Tadashi one more time.]

You sure you told her to show up right away? [Little does he know that Hawke's not too far away at all.]

[ hawke isn't too far away, no, but she is running a little late. this is what happens when you get too comfortable with modern clothes and misplace your chainmail. she spent a good twenty minutes trying to look for the damn thing before she finally found it, stashed away in a pile of laundry and well -- that was just a mess.

either way, she's here now! she's dressed in her armor (the one on the right) and without a helmet because those are lame and she has a big ol' sword on her back as she gets to the park. she's ready to fight, okay!! she will punch every robot dragon in the teeth. behind her is a certain dog again, happily barking and bounding around hawke. she lets out a sharp whistle as she sees the hamadas, giving a wave of her hand and her eyes quickly zero in on the dragon. ]

If it isn't my favorite pair of brothers. How are the two of you today? Ready for battle, hm?

[ and that dog, garrett, is going to make a beeline for hiro to sniff him all over. you have fuzzy hair, ser, and you also smell like a certain corgi. he likes that. ]

[ w o w. that sure is a dog. while he did hear the dog make noise over the cerevice earlier, he certainly didn't expect hawke to be the dog type. goes to show how little he knows about her, even though they get along quite well.

when hawke draws close, he hits hiro on the shoulder lightly to say hi to the nice young lady. ]

Good to see you. [ he'd say something about how hiro was getting impatient, but nah... that'd be rude, and he'd rather not embarrass hawke, of all people. hiro can be embarrassed all he wants, though. ]

The dragon's still in sleep mode but- [ this is just like a showcase!! he pulls out the dragon's remote from his pocket and presses a button, and the creature comes to life! it makes some sharp sounds indicating that the tech inside are working as the limbs move and all, and once it's up on its four legs, it roars.

better cover your ears. ]

It's ready for you.

[ smooth. ]

[The dog's probably about half of Hiro's size honestly. Tadashi hits his shoulder and he looks up, stick suddenly breaking in half as something in the water snaps it up and he suddenly gets a better look at Hawke. It's like something straight out of the MMOs he plays back home.

He doesn't have time to really examine it though because dog. There is a dog and Hiro's sitting still while he lets Garrett do his thing before tentatively holding out a hand to pet him. Please don't bite off his hand, dog, he needs those.

But oh. Right. People. Maybe he should actually focus.]

Hey, Hawke. [Spoken about the same time Tadashi says "good to see you", he drops the rest of the stick in the water and ushers Garrett to follow him to sit a safe distance away. He can guess just how big this dragon's going to be and he's waiting excitedly for Tadashi to push the button. He's watching it critically, making notes already in his head about the way the dragon moves and everything before he looks around its body and shoots Hawke a grin.]

Pretty sick, huh? [This oughta be good.]

[ for all of garrett's everything, he's actually incredibly friendly. so, hiro, when you offer him his hand he will take it. give the dog an inch, he'll take a mile so yeah he's just going to just rub his face into hiro's shirt like the big friendly mabari he is.

oh, dog. he'll follow you until you love him, hiro!

which is actually good because hawke is waiting to be impressed and as they all stand back a little for this dragon, she looks more and more delighted. it's magnificent and hawke can't help the tiny gasp she lets out as it unfolds to full size. this is exactly what she was looking for.

and then it roars. ]

Andraste's fucking tits!

[ hawke, language. she does actually cover her mouth and look over at hiro before letting out a short laugh and looking back at the dragon. holy shit. she runs a hand through her hair, letting the hand rest on the back of her neck as she takes it all in, smile on her face.

she points at tadashi then, eager as can be. ]

Beauty and brains! You're the whole package, Tadashi. I'd hug you but I fear I might accidentally poke your eye out. So, let's say I owe you one.

[ and then to hiro, she thumbs at his brother again. ]

Did you help him with this? Or am I not wrong in giving him all the credit?

[ HAWKE, YOUR LANGUAGE... tadashi jumps at the sudden cursing, then looks at hiro, a bit unsure. ok, so his brother knows his street stuff and already even curses, so it's not much of a revelation for hiro, but still??? u ok bro??? this is the kind of language that aunt cass would pull their ears for, so. you know. lots of unsure feelings here.

but that's quickly brushed aside when he sees hawke's excitement. it's always really nice to make somebody else happy - it's practically what tadashi was born to do. except, you know, he died and ended up making a lot of people sad. but hey! that was what tadashi died... to do... THIS ISN'T MAKING ANY SENSE.

the dragon is now on stand-by mode, huffing while waiting. its eyes blink a bunch of times - similar to how any living thing usually blinks - so it's actually pretty realistic! the only thing is that it's only about fifteen feet tall (at most.) so it's not as big as "regular" dragons, whatever those might be. ceres' tech can only take them so far, but despite its size, it still delivers the full dragon experience! ]

Don't enjoy yourself too much while you haven't tested it out yet. [ yeah, that's all tadashi can say for now. he'll switch the robot to fight mode whenever hawke's done being adorably giddy.

as for her question to hiro, he just looks expectantly at his brother. hiro did help, and then some, so the credit isn't entirely tadashi's. and as proud tadashi is of this dragon, he's even prouder of his little brother for being such a genius. ]

[He also jumps at Hawke's reaction and he shares a look with Tadashi. He's not exactly perturbed but he does lift his eyebrows in a silent form of communication. They can talk about it later. He's pretty happy letting Garrett snuffle his face in his t-shirt and sitting a good distance away to watch the dragon spring to life, more than delighted with Hawke's response. It helps that it's making his brother happy and it helps that it's something Hiro's also interested in.

When she addresses him though there's a wider grin, enough that the gap-tooth is pretty prevalent. He looks at Tadashi just as expectantly before he addresses Hawke.]

Rule number 456. Hamada brothers' projects have to be crazy awesome. [He leans back on one hand, giving the dragon another once-over while petting behind Garrett's ears.] We put a lot of work into this thing even if most of it was Tadashi's idea. I just picked up the slack to make it a little cooler. [Arrogant though he may be, it's clear that he thinks most of the credit goes to Tadashi and he's equally proud of him.] What do you think? Think you can take him on?

[ there's a snort of amusement from hawke, both because of hiro's pride and because of her confidence. of course she can take the dragon on. she can take it blindfolded even! do you know who she is?! but she won't say that much and instead lift a gloved hand to rub at her chin, looking at the dragon thoughtfully. hm, can she take this thing on?

(yes, of course.) ]

Well, my only concern is how much to leave standing. Are you sure it can take as much damage as I can give? I've fought many things, serahs. I have to wonder how strong this beast of metal truly is.

[ okay, that was still kind of arrogant, but she is definitely clocking weaknesses on the dragon. she's taking note of where the joints might be, the underside of the beast, the surrounding area. she gives attention to its neck, to its wings, wondering how far it can fly. hawke talks a big game but the thing is, she ... really does deserve it. ]

And it still hasn't a name yet. I'd like to name it, if that's possible.

[ the metal used is pretty strong that adelina's sword only scratched the neck of the dragon, so it should be alright... right?

admittedly, tadashi's never seen hawke fight, but he'd like to think that the dragon can impress her. even if it does end up breaking later on. but no, bad thoughts!! he's confident the dragon will be okay. ]

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. [ he knows the dragon is awesome, though. that's what truly counts.

and tadashi's just about ready to set the dragon to fight mode when hawke mentions naming the dragon. sure!! why not. he looks at hiro for a split second, asking if it's okay with him through eye contact. it's fine, right, bro? ]

[He's actually pouting up at Hawke when she says that, also firmly believing the dragon's awesome and will hold up under the assault of her sword. It's silly to think she'd defeat it in one fight..but he's also never seen the woman fight. He nods in agreement, feeling no need to further voice his opinion when it's the same as Tadashi's.

But then the name comes up.] Better that you name it than leave it up to this guy. [He nods up toward Tadashi with a teasing smile.] Got any ideas?

[ her sword is pretty strong! don't doubt her sword! but hawke will be impressed later on when she's able to see how strong the dragon is in action. the more they talk it up, the more excited she becomes. it's been so long since she had a worthy fight that wasn't in gosh darn vivid. ]

Carver. We'll name it Carver, it's a fitting name.

[ and then she pauses, wondering if she should explain her brother. in the end, she decides not to and instead just reaches behind her to withdraw her sword. ]

Fitting because I intend to carve right through it. Do start it up now, Tadashi, and prepare to witness something quite fantastic.

[ she shifts her feet a little to hold the sword up, eyes focused on the dragon and ready to fight. come on, dragon, it's time to dance. ]

[ with a nod, tadashi presses another button which switches the dragon's gears and brings it into fight mode. it starts off with a loud roar before it starts flapping its wings and then it takes off in the air. the dragon—carver—flies a couple of feet away from where the three (and the dog) are, looking down at them and scanning the surrounding area to figure out its next move.

how it fights is based on how the fighter moves, after all. ]

[There's a whoop of victory when the dragon takes flight and he's immediately diving for his CereVice, flipping on the camera to record the fight. He doesn't take his eyes off the dragon even as he turns his head in Hawke's direction, free hand still petting Garrett.]

Give it your best shot!

[ hawke doesn't move just yet, she watches the dragon just as it watches her. she's going to beat it, she's decided, but she isn't quite sure how. there's a few moments of just staring before an idea seems to occur to hawke and she... puts down her sword?!

yeah, she just sheathes it once again before opening a little pocket on her belt and pulling out what seems to be a small knife. if the boys look over at her or attempt to ask about it, she'll just wave them off as she slides her glove a bit up to expose her palm. then, well, she just slices it open. there's a quiet ah from hawke but she doesn't seem super hurt as she just pulls the glove back down and does something else kind of creepy.

she, uh, wipes the blood off the blade with two fingers. then wipes the blood over her nose. the knife is slid back in place quite simply before she gives a roll of her shoulders and reaches down to the ground to grab a rock. why is she grabbing that rock? because she's going to throw it right at the dragon's face, of course.

it hits, square between the eyes, and hawke lets out a sharp whistle before pulling her sword out again, finally, and beckoning the dragon closer with two fingers. which is all well and good except hawke is going to turn around then and run.

she's running out the park.

and she wants the dragon to chase her. ]

[ the dragon roars in "pain" (it's programmed to act upon the feeling of pain, anyway!) and chases after hawke. this is bad. this is bad!! as the dragon flies in the direction of where hawke went, tadashi's cap almost flies away, but he manages to catch it in the air.

he slaps hiro's shoulder with the back of his palm, signalling for him to follow the dragon and hawke. they can't go outside the park. they just can't. what would a dragon even do in the middle of the residential district?! burn things, that's what. let's not have more casualties, hawke! ]

Don't run too far! [ thankfully, tadashi is pretty athletic that chasing after a dragon doesn't tire him as much. though that statement was directed at hawke. hopefully, she can hear him! ]

[Even if Tadashi hadn't flagged him he would have started running right after the dragon and Hawke. It's obvious from the way he's laughing that he finds the whole thing way more amusing than Tadashi does and he's still filming as he picks up speed to chase them down. It takes more energy for him to run as fast but he's doing an okay job keeping up. And even so, it doesn't take long before he yells over the sound of the roaring dragon.]

Running from it isn't beating it, Hawke! [Come oooonnn.]

[ if hawke was less of an asshole, she might stop and explain her plan first but well -- she's not. instead she keeps running and lets out a laugh at tadashi's warning. but they have to go out the park, tadashi! don't you see! (of course not because hawke hasn't explained it yet.)

hiro's remark can't be left to stand though. she even turns around, running backwards for a bit (and keeping up her pace too, hawke's bragging isn't for nothing, no) just so she can look at hiro as she calls out to him. ]

Hah! I'm not running, I'm leading. I promised a show, Hiro!

[ and then she turns again, with every intention to leave the park. weirdly enough, her direction isn't towards the apartments but the metro rail. what the hell is she doing?

aside from hawke though, garrett is keeping up pace with tadashi and hiro, letting out a few barks of excitement as they go. in fact, when he notices hiro not keeping up as well -- he'll nudge him with his nose, giving another bark. he's offering to let hiro ride him, of course, and garrett's pretty massive enough to take the weight. ]

[ WHY. WHY THIS... TADASHI DIDN'T ASK FOR THIS. THIS WAS NOT PART OF THE PLAN. head in hands.

hiro, garrett, and hawke might be having fun, but tadashi sure isn't! but the good thing is that he's good at hiding his panic and he just looks like an angry man running towards the direction of the trains. NOTHING TO SEE HERE, FOLKS. but deep inside, he's freaking out so bad because what if the dragon starts burning the wires or freezes the train - this is bad.

this is bad.

the dragon does follow hawke, though. it doesn't rush, and it maintains a constant speed throughout the chase. maybe because it's not programmed to be aggravated and aggressive yet! it does nothing but fly and follow hawke, though. it literally is her move for now. ]

[Curse these short legs!!! He should probably feel insulted that he's being offered a ride from a dog, but then again it's not like Garrett probably doesn't outweigh him by 20 pounds anyway. So he stops running, petting the dog's head before figuring out how to jump up on his back and re-situate himself to ride and film all at once.

Cerealia is such a strange place sometimes. He and Garrett pick up speed to catch up with the others and while Tadashi's rightfully worried, Hiro's still a teenage adrenaline junkie on some days. He also trusts his brother's invention not to really cause damage. Maybe that's blind faith, but he does find it surprising the dragon's not trying to eat Hawke and is instead following. He ignores the stares from a few people they run past, and he doesn't say anything in response either. It really is Hawke's move but he's more than excited to see what she has planned.]
