[Closed] Now it's gettin' so I'm mad when someone says your name
Who: the Winter Drama Queen
2cool4guardian & the Radvatar
braavado
When: one or two days after the intro log
Where: starting at the jungle, then returning to the colony
What: Jack finds out his BFF is gone and throws a (literal) storming tantrum, Korra goes to the rescue
Rating/Warning: only some minor monster fighting so far
[He's gone. Gone, gone, gone.
Hiccup's gone.
How didn't he notice sooner? What kind of best friend is he? The kind that easily loses track of time after 300 years, obviously, the one that doesn't think much if someone wants to leave on a vacation for one or two days.
Which became three, four, five... empty apartment, empty sky... Unanswered calls? How can he even call when the name isn't even on the contact list?
He should've seen this coming - he knows this happens in Cerealia, people return to their worlds. And that's a good thing for them, Jack knows he should be happy for Hiccup. But he can't. Because no matter how old he is, how much experience he has, this is the first time he loses a friend like this. The Guadians turned him down once, but that was him screwing up, like he always does, and they were still around.
Hiccup is gone. Gone, gone, gone - the word keeps echoing in his head, making him feel all kinds of not-fun things. Sadness, anger, frustration, hurt like fucking hell.
Humans always leave. Jack is eternal, but they leave. He knows that, then why does he keep trying?
The storm forming inside him is too big to let it out here, so he flies to the jungle, the only alternative he has to the pole. He won't reach the mountains considering the breathing problem, and he's not feeling like having company right now to ask an air person for help.
The wind still blows pretty hard, though, throwing some people on its way. As soon as Jack feels the rainforest weather, he lets go all of his inner storm, power enough to override the heat, the biggest blizzard this planet has ever seen hitting the jungle hard.
Occidi doesn't like it. Of-fucking-course. No Mother Nature here, but her lost intergalactic cousin is ready to do the same job. Jack would love to fight her, at least with words, needing someone or something to snap at, but her words are enough to instantly stop him.
You are indeed no better than CERES for it.
The storm slowly calms down as Jack drops to the ground on his fours, feeling even worse. No, no, no, hell no, he isn't anything like Ceres. He can't be! So lost in his thoughts he is that he doesn't notice the vicious creatures approaching from the bushes, or the person who seems to have followed him all along...]

Sure, ever since the elemental spirits pulled them out of the colony, more and more people have been venturing out to explore. On its own, it's nothing. With the way Jack had looked as he left, though... Korra can't shake the feeling that something's wrong. She flicks her glider staff open and follows him.
She's too far away to hear what Occidi says when she confronts him, but Jack's reaction to the words are clear enough. Jack, she thinks with worry, urging her glider forward faster. It's a heart wrenching sight, the incredible blizzard he'd unleashed dying off and leaving him down on all fours--from exhaustion or something else, Korra can't tell. There's one thing clear, though: he's in no shape to notice the monsters gathering around him, most likely drawn to the abrupt change in temperature.
Korra lands beside him, calling up a strong blast of air with her staff to warn the monsters off. When they still linger, Korra knows they're in trouble. She pulls Jack to his feet quickly, knowing her questions would have to wait.]
Jack, get behind me!
[Korra puts herself between him and the monsters, ready to defend him until he's ready to move.]

He doesn't notice Korra until she pulls him to his feet, and even then it takes him a minute to actually understand what's going on. Right - another friend. Another human, another person that sooner or later... like if those monsters catch them...
Wait. Monsters?]
What are you doing here? You need to get out!
[Sorry if he doesn't feel very thankful at the moment. He may be too tired to move, but he isn't tired enough to frown and being angry at her for risking her life. His walking is more like stumbling, and his hands can barely aim his staff properly.]

You passed right by me in the colony. You didn't look too good. [Her voice is a soft murmur, just loud enough for him to hear, but not enough to encourage the creatures into swarming them.] I followed you out here to make sure you were okay.
[Korra's explanation is cut short when one of the creatures--a large reptile of some kind--breaks the ranks and crawls toward them. A sharp, warning blast of air is sent its way.]
