What: Upon occasion and from time to time, Yona sneaks into the Entertainment District...

[Yona has a secret, one that she guards zealously, even from Hak. Actually, especially from Hak. Sometimes, when she tells him she's going to the archery range to practice ... she doesn't. Sometimes, in the evenings, she goes instead to the Entertainment District. She leaves her CereVice behind and watches her back, making sure to take elaborate routes to avoid being followed.

Hak can never, never find out she does karaoke.

Yona's aware that she's a terrible singer (Hak, for one, never lets her forget it). In her homeworld, she rarely even bothered to try. As a spoiled princess, she never had to try; as a fugitive on the run, she was actively discouraged from it. But here in Cerealia, she is neither; she's just a regular person who keeps busy and yet occasionally has free time on her hands and sometimes wants to sing.

Discovering karaoke was like a revelation to her. She didn't have to be good at singing — almost nobody performing in karaoke night could sing! Being good at singing wasn't the point. The point was just to have fun.

She could use some fun tonight.]

[Yona's not exactly the sneakiest person in the world. She definitely looks suspicious as she makes her way through the streets, clearly on high alert. Perhaps you decide to follow her to see if she's up to no good...]

[She's at the bar, trying to order a juice. Man all these drinks have funny names ... Help a girl out?]

option c - jeremiah was a bullfrog, was a good friend of mine
[The music played at this karaoke place is completely alien to Yona — but that certainly doesn't stop her from getting up on stage and singing at the top of her lungs. The results are ... interesting to say the least.]

[Rock Lee had noticed something out of the corner of his eye when he was doing a nighttime jog through the districts.

Was that Yona? Something seemed wrong about her movements... like she was trying to hide something! Normally, he would respect the privacy of others, but he worried that she might be in trouble, so he decided to try to help her.

For now, though, he just... darts between the shadows as he tries to follow her and see what is going on.]

[Sadly, the little Rock had taught Yona about ninjutsu before has not stuck. Of course, even if it had, she wouldn't have been able to catch him.

She makes a few more turns, just to be absolutely certain that no one is following her ... and that's when she realizes she's lost. Where's the karaoke place?]

[Angelo was at the bar getting a drink himself when he spots Yona out of the corner of his eye.]

Looking for something in particular, madame?

[Oh good, someone who might be able to help her! ] I'm looking for a juice! Is there anything you recommend?

[He quirks an eyebrow at her for a brief moment before only smiling at Yona.]

You're trying to order juice at a bar. That's rather cute. [He's trying not to laugh, but inwardly he might be.] You do realize most of these drinks are alcohol, don't you?

[ in contrast, zero is almost the definition of a sneak. dressed in almost entirely black body armor, they follow her because yes, she does look pretty damn suspicious, and anything suspicious is of interest to a criminal by trade.

they make sure that they're out of sight until they get bored and start slipping on purpose. from time to time she'll catch sight of a tall, dark figure out of the corner of her eye, and the occasional red glow bouncing off of an alley wall in the night, becoming more and more visible until she acts.

...they're just being a jerk. ]

Really? But the names are so cute! Pink Fizzy ... S'moretini ... Fuzzy Navel ... [Okay, that one is just strange.]

[He looks over the menu again and then back to Yona.] Actually, now that I look over the menu again... You can order a drink without alcohol and it'll basically be a fruit drink.

[Yona's heart stops when she catches sight of the dark figure skulking behind her. She's reminded abruptly, viscerally taken back to the night her father was murdered, to that shadowy figure who chased her into Soo-Won's room. She never did discover who that person was — whether it was a brigand, or one of Soo-Won's soldiers.

She hastens her steps ... then breaks out into a run as memory and panic take over. I need to get away. I need to get away!]

[It's alright. There is always room for improvement!

Rock Lee continues to quietly follow, but then he stops in one alleyway as he notices that she looks lost. Something is wrong! He withdrew into the alley to ponder his next move, only to knock over a trash can loudly in the process.]

Ack!

[ zero sees her start to run. they start to jog after her, long strides and fast pace letting them keep up. they start accelerating to catch up. soon, they'll overtake her. ]

[The sound of the trash can falling makes Yona scream and reach for her bow —

Which of course she didn't bring with her since she's just going to karaoke.]

Who's there?!

[If it's just a cat or something, she's going to feel really stupid ... but more than a little relieved.]

[Good point! Yona takes a closer look at the cocktail list and each drink's ingredients.]

Oh, Sex on the Beach sounds good!

[It takes her a moment to register what's wrong with what she just said.]

[It won't be hard. Yona is much more fit than when she was a princess, well adapted for life on the run, but this is an unfamiliar area and it doesn't take long for panic to make her clumsy. She rounds a corner too fast, her arm hitting the edge just hard enough to upset her balance and send her tumbling to the ground.]

AH!

[Whoops. Rock Lee shouts back.]

N-no one is here!!

[He's trying so hard not to laugh at Yona.]

Yes, it certainly does. I'm sure it'd be something you enjoy.

[Did he make an unintentionally innuendo joke? Yup, he sure did.]

[ oh. well, zero hadn't meant to make her fall that badly, but it is still kind of funny. they catch up and drop down without a sound from the balcony they were perched on.

without a word they walk closer, gait easy but quick until they come to stand above her. ]

Hello.

[Oh please, like Yona's going to fall for that! On the upside, she's now less frightened. Anyone silly enough to shout "no one is here" clearly can't be nefarious.]

Then who's shouting?

[A moment later, she thinks Wait, don't I know that voice? But he hasn't spoken enough yet for her to pin it down.]

[Was that innuendo? Yona gives him a look of mild suspicion. If he were Hak, she would have no doubt that he was making fun of her, but surely this stranger doesn't have her bodyguard's raunchy and inappropriate sense of humor.

Does he?

No, of course he doesn't. To the bartender, Yona asks:] Could I get a Mai Tai, please? Ah, without the alcohol! [She's not actually adverse to drinking, but she doesn't want the smell of liquor to give away her whereabouts to Hak.

One virgin Mai Tai, got it, the bartender says, and Yona feels her cheeks go pink. Why is everything so dirty here?]

[Yona stares up at the figure, both terrified and confused. The greeting, while not incredibly friendly, seems benign enough — certainly not a threat. And yet who wouldn't feel threatened by a stranger masked figure chasing them down an alley?]

What do you want?

[She wishes Hak were here — and in the next breath, is almost glad that he isn't. If she's going to stop him from doing stupid reckless things to protect her, she needs to prove that she can take care of herself.]

[He simply smiles at Yona, acting as he usually does even if she does have her suspicions about him and to some degree he can tell.]

So if I may ask, what brings you here anyway? You don't seem like the type of lady to come here often.

[ zero leans over her—then draws back. ]

Wondering what's up. Dangerous things could be here, this late in the night.

Oh? [She briefly contemplates lying, saying she comes here all the time for the sake of maintaining her cover ... then she realizes What cover?]

I ... just came here for karaoke. I like to sing. What about you?

So that's why you chased me? [Her voice is snippy, her temper shortened by the abrupt release of adrenaline. Her limbs feel weak as she pushes herself to her feet.] You could have just asked!

[He holds up the wine glass in front of him.]

I come here for the drinks. I'd love to hear you sing though, if you don't mind performing in front of someone.
