[closed] it's anime night
Who: Misaki Yata (
unswerved), Saruhiko Fishymi (
swordplays), Stahn Aileron (
majinken), Leon Magnus (
discard)
When: 10 May
Where: Yata's apartment
What: Two morons introduce two other morons to anime
Rating/Warning: n/a
[ it began with a text... and ended up with yata fixing up his apartment for guests. he told them to come at around 6pm, so he's been cleaning up all day and even wearing a bandanna on his head, and an apron so his clothes don't get dirty. he looks like a housewife. and that's what he's wearing over his normal, 90's, thuggish clothes when people arrive.
he's found a bunch of anime listings on cereflix, so he's looking forward to tonight! may it be a fun filled night of action and comedy and no girls whatsoever. ]

... Why this. Stahn alone would be fine. He's obnoxiously cheerful, but that's tolerable. It's seeing Leon that really takes things from terrible to completely awful already. Who in their right mind would want to hang out with that prickly little brat?
His eyes dart between Yata's other guests and the door, wondering how big of a fight he'd cause by getting up and leaving, and how much of a migraine he'll end up with anyway. In the end, he sighs and settles for making a face at nothing in particular.
He doesn't even like anime.]
no subject
Why.]
... I'm not interested in this. I'm leaving.
[It's far too late for that, Leon.]
no subject
Leon! You can't back out now, we're already here, and you said you would! [stahn aileron: professional steamroller, tbh.
besides! there are important things here, which he will motion to yata, expression shifting back to a smile. tough noogies, leon.]
I brought the pizza, and some snacks for later, too! [it's assorted candy, mostly, since it seemed like it would be easy to eat while focused on other stuff.]
no subject
[ he takes the food from stahn so his guests can rest easy, and he places them on the coffee table by the couch. sorry, fishy, he isn't minding you right now because he has to tend to the
irguests. ]And Leon, you gotta stay! You're gonna see some badass robots, and you might even pick up new moves!
[ he shoots fushimi a look ]
Hey! Say something.
no subject
Yata gets a Look back, because he talks enough for both of them and he knows very well that Fushimi isn't great at conversation. Still, he doesn't actually want to be the one to totally ruin the mood.] It was... nice of you to bring food. [Nice, but stupid.] You seriously didn't have to.
no subject
[He says, as he goes along with it anyway... Leon's weak to Stahn, and there's Yata too, and it's just a mess that he can't escape.
Ugh.... he just comes along inside grumpily because he can't escape now. GOOD WORK, GUYS.]
no subject
[showing up at all makes you complicit, leon! at least, that's how stahn sees it, and he's perfectly content to mutter that quietly without trying to ruin the mood of things.
yata was totally excited about this, and stahn is too (because whatever, this anime stuff sounds way cool to him). he's perfectly content to let the grin settle as they make their way inside.]
I offered when Yata asked me to come, so it would have been rude not to! Besides... it would be even more rude to come empty-handed, wouldn't it? It seemed like a good time for pizza anyway!
[stahn has some manners about him, after all. besides, who could get mad about pizza and candy? both things are delicious and lend themselves well to a casual night with friends.]
no subject
yata points at what he's selected, though not pressing the play button of the remote yet. ]
So this one has robots and stuff like that, so it's gonna be really cool!
[ he takes a seat on the floor so his guests can sit on the couch, and grabs a slice of pizza. it's time to start the show! though, of course, what they're watching is some bootleg version of it. "dams made of guns: serendipity. ]
no subject
Yata's choice in entertainment is less than ideal, as expected. He's half watching the beginning to the show, not even really paying attention, until he catches that even the opening shows girls in a state of undress. This will go well.]
Well, at least Misaki's done a fine job of picking out the entertainment.
[If he were any more sarcastic it might actually be physically painful. Try not to cry, Yata.]
no subject
And then he's just.
Squinting at the TV.
?? ??? ??????? WH...AT.... what is he watching?!]
no subject
he's quick to take a slice of pizza as the opening starts, and it takes... maybe 12 seconds for stahn to be completely engrossed. on top of the visual appeal (...including the girls in undress), there's music and cool fighting things!!]
W...ow.... amazing... [which he says in the most undignified way, with the cheese from the slice of pizza trailing to his mouth. his eyes are lighting up like a kid on christmas at the whole thing.
he's never seen anything like this before and it's so cool!!!]
no subject
Ah, ah, ah! Did you see that— her— [ "boobs". he can't say it. he's even getting pale in the face. ] they jiggled!
[ THE LISTING DIDN'T SAY THIS WAS A HORROR ANIME. ]
no subject
Of course, the secondhand embarrassment being suffered is real. The weight on his feet and against his legs isn't comfortable in the least, but trying to extricate himself would probably result in some graceless fumbling, so he doesn't move. He glances sideways at Stahn though-- the sight of the cheese hanging out of his mouth and his open staring is absolutely hideous, but at least one of them can actually enjoy this garbage.]
Shush, Misaki. You're the one that picked this, so just deal with it and watch.
[There's no need to make such a huge scene over something so inconsequential. The show has moved on to ridiculous pink explosions happening around a number of giant robots now in battle, anyway.]
no subject
... Okay, no, it's becoming very plain and clear to Leon that he's not going to be able to escape this stupid situation, so after another moment's hesitation, he sits in the space Stahn left him, somewhat sulkily.
He doesn't seem impressed by the anime, that's for sure, even if the ridiculous colored explosions are...really something... they're distracting, and he's still not sure what to make of the giant robots.
A beat, and he frowns at Stahn.]
Don't be disgusting. I know you are a country bumpkin, but surely you must have some form of manners.
[And close your mouth when you chew!!!]
no subject
(that would require having tvs, though. minor details.)
he remains pretty entranced until leon is scolding him, which causes stahn to immediately clamp his mouth closed and rectify this stringy cheese situation going on here.]
Ah... sorry. [does he say that almost sheepishly? yeah, he does. don't disappoint leon here. his bad.] I was surprised, that's all!
[nothing could have prepared him for this.]
no subject
EVERYTHING IS AWESOME. ]
Uwwwoooohhh...! Look at that! That's badass!
[ lasers, guns, swords, all in one mecha?! WOW. not that it's uncommon in mecha, but yata's still amazed, anyway. ]
no subject
His feet are already starting to go numb from Yata still sitting on them too, so he's angling his knee into his shoulder and not being too gentle about it.
And that's about when the main character's best friend, Bae, jumps into the fighting and the screen is entirely too busy now. Just how many robots bursting into pink puffs of smoke does anyone need to see? It's only through sheer force of will that Fushimi manages to turn his facepalm into adjusting his glasses instead.]
no subject
Which is the only reason he, too, isn't facepalming right now. But there's definitely a look on his face that's somewhat akin to eating lemons....
At least Yata and Stahn are having fun???]
no subject
but despite the fact that his head is spinning from the action, stahn's really enjoying every last second of it. this is basically one of the coolest things he's ever seen (you'd think a guy with a talking sword would think that is cooler, but no), and he's completely engrossed. at the height of all the action, stahn is just... continuously amazed—which should be surprising to exactly nobody.]
Whoa..! Leon, did you see that? It was so cool! [the robot did a thing! how does that work! everyone is so cool and intense!]
no subject
Oi, Saru! You saw that, right?!
[ but yata doesn't even wait for fushimi to react or say anything. he goes back to watching tv. more pink explosions!! and some new character—he looks like the villain—shows up. bae seems to like him a lot, and knee works for him, too. the ceo.
shady.
kind of like bellona, amirite. maybe this is a real life show about ceres.
not that yata would know. he doesn't even know a thing about the ceo yet. ]
no subject
Fushimi was only going to give a smart answer anyway, so it's a good thing Yata turned back to the show, even if he is still sitting on his feet. It doesn't stop him from opening his mouth just slightly in disbelief that all of this is happening, and he finds himself looking over at Leon without really meaning to.
He just wants proof that he isn't the only one not losing his mind over this trash, okay.]
no subject
[But that's really all he manages before the anime continues to be the anime... somehow. Leon has lost track of the plot. He lost track of the plot in like the first five minutes and it's not getting any better.
So he's just staring at the ceiling in exasperation, but rolling his eyes brings his gaze to meet Fushimi's.
It's hard to say if it's better or worse that Leon looks exactly the same way, Fushimi. You two agree, how's that.]
no subject
[he knows that leon knows this already, obviously. whether or that that declaration is a good thing or somewhat damning is probably for yata and fushimi to decide. stahn doesn't even notice that leon and fushimi are exchanging glances of agreement.
how could he, when everything on the screen is so engrossing!? though somehow along the way... stahn does manage to eat another slice of pizza, and he's considering a third. the boy has an appetite, especially at times like this when he's so totally caught up in the hype. this is the coolest. thing. ever.]
no subject
[ he shifts in his seat so he isn't sitting on fushimi anymore, and he even looks back at leon as he addresses him.
he has an idea on what may make him happy though. ]
Do you wanna watch something else? I mean, there's a lotta stuff on the list. [ a beat. ] Are you into slice of life?
[ who can't appreciate this amazing show, though?! just look at it! space!!!! robots and explosions!!! naked girls-- yata does not like the naked girls, tyvm. ]
no subject
He's not too surprised that Stahn and Leon haven't seen shows, or even entertainment, like this before; in his book, that's not necessarily a bad thing. The less mindless drivel to have to sit through, the better. Of course, Yata's suggestion for a genre switch to slice of life of all things is equally stupid.
He stretches his freed legs a little, rolling his eyes at the same time.]
Nobody is into slice of life. But... a different show isn't a terrible idea.
