[...Koumei stays quiet, glancing over at Kouha as if to signal that it was his turn to speak. There was no delicate way of explaining to Cao Pi that the Kou siblings were not at all the most refined royals in the world.]

Parts of it are dyed an interesting pink, [Koumei explained, unruffled by the banter between the two young men.] And no insult was intended-- I just don't feel like that style would suit me.

[Because the hair color was the one key feature amongst all the children who were sired by their father, and it was fairly unique. He was rather fond of it, with it's distinctiveness and everything.]

Pastel shades are super in right now, so I talked him into trying it out! He liked it so much that he kept it.

[More like he likes Kashuu so much that he continued to humor him, but hey, same diff...]

But don't worry, don't worry! Like I said, your hair color is good. But you have a looot of it to work with, so we can try out a ton of styles!

[Getting that kind of rudeness flipped back on him so easily has Kouha blinking in surprise for a moment, before the irritation slips onto his face. Who does this guy think he is, questioning Kouha's princely qualifications?]

I can sword dance, if that's the sort of thing you mean.

Rank is fluid anyway-- just ten years ago, my brothers and I weren't even in line for the throne. But there was a fire....and people died. Somehow, we found ourselves here.

[He smiled, but it was a little sad. Kouha should know the affair he was referring to, even if he was a young boy at that point in time.]

But none of that matters in this city-- I'm just glad the two of you are getting along.

Anyone who's conquered a Dungeon has met at least the Djinn they are tied to-- if they haven't met others while assisting relatives or companions who have also conquered Dungeons across the world.

But by our strength alone, we're not able to let them manifest at all in this world. Only someone similar to Mister Haru can accomplish that, and there are only four people like that in our world.

...I've met Dantalion once in person, and her strength is added to my own in times when it's needed. Does that make sense Naki? Little Fox?

[He nods, fiddling with his hair as he answers.]

I can do both, but I'm better with one. Don't really have any of the clothes or swords to work with here, though, or I'd show you.

[He can't do it with his his normal weapon because it's too cumbersome, but given a normal sword, he's pretty good. There's a confidence in him now that he wouldn't be able to pull of if he was lying.]

I should like to see that, someday. The sword dance is always a popular entertainment at banquets. [he nods to the empty place at his side where he would usually carry Pure Havoc] Likewise, my pair of swords is downstairs, and I don't suppose anyone living here would enjoy if we made a mess of the apartment. If we were to dance with the residents here, would that not be considered a 'sword dance?'

[He lifts a lock of his own hair, wondering how much pinker than this someone could get, if Kashuu was getting so defensive about it after complimenting them.]

Guess he's a bold guy, huh... If you're gonna keep up, Mei, we're gonna have to do something extreme, too! Without changing the color, though. Maybe we could do it up, instead?

Hmm, yeah, you meet your Djinn when you make a pact with them. They don't really do that without seeing your strength for themselves, you know? My Leraje's kind of a crybaby, though, so it's probably better if we don't talk all the time...

[She's still his forever girl/Djinn, though, so mocking her any more feels mean.]

There was that time Aladdin brought out all our Djinn in Magnostadt, too. Mei wasn't there for it, but it was weird to see half a dozen of 'em out at once, especially on a battlefield!

[That comment is so weird and thoughtful, it startles a laugh out of Kouha before he can throw a hand over his mouth.]

You thinking of asking them to dance? I don't think they'd want to get swung around like a real sword dance, you know, even if it's popular.

[Headtilt. Koumei looped his fingers through his immensly long ponytail and pulled at it slightly, as if thinking.]

You mean this doesn't count as 'up?'

[It was (mostly) out of his way, and that was good enough by him!]

[Cao Pi just gives him a raised eyebrow like really? That was terrible, Koumei, just terrible.]

That is, if you can even pick them up like one.

[he's seen Donut, all right, he knows some of these swords are as big as any of his father's bodyguards.]

[Alas, Cao Pi, he was sort of notorious for his weird, deadpan sort of humor.]

While Mister Doudanuki has taken it upon himself to put me through my paces after I embarrassed him at a party, I doubt there will ever come a time when he would let me hold him like a sword. On the other hand, as dance partners? I'm sure Mutsunokami, Kashuu, and Kogitsunemaru would be more than willing to oblige.

[He's lost to Haru just by virtue of not being Haru, in Kashuu's eyes... the #bias is real.]

It's kinda like, messy half-up? But I think he's talking about a real proper updo! It's totally different from just pulling it up into a ponytail.

That is what I have been doing. However I...do not like meat in general and only have it sparingly.

Ponytails totally don't count, especially when it's that messy.

[Seriously, sometimes it looks like Koumei goes to bed like that and just never redoes it in the morning. He gestures with his hands, motioning at hair sitting way higher up on the head.]

A real updo's way more complicated... Like, you remember what Kougyoku did when her engagement got announced? Something like that!

[In fairness, Koumei probably did go to sleep with his hair tied up and not bother redoing it in the morning. That required work, and who honestly had the time for that?

But Kouha's suggestion may have actually made Koumei a little nervous. He recalled that hairdo quite well-- she had looked like an old hag far more mature than her 17 years, and it was a complicated hair style.]

...I don't believe that hairpins that ornate are really suitable for this.
