Yeah, we were. I don't think any of us got left behind here.

[Which is a damn shame, since there are swords in their number who really could have used the break and none of the heartache that came with everything in that dark part of the city.]

Huh. Did anybody? I mean, I kept an eye out for everyone but it was tough to find anybody in that mess. I didn't see you guys, or I'd have stuck closer.

I heard there were some people who didn't get pulled over, yeah. It sounds like it was way less common, though... I dunno if any of them stayed for a reason or not, either.

Anyway, the phones worked over there, but I don't think a lot of people had 'em since it was nighttime when we were taken.

Hadn't thought of that. [he was awake. He's always awake at midnight.] They didn't work so well but yeah, there was that. Just when you think this place can't get any crazier...

As long as you guys are all right, though. I stopped in to see if anyone needed a good sharpening or cleaning.

Yeah, at least we had something. ...But I guess it ended up bad for the people who were already in bed without their shoes on and stuff.

Thanks for checking in, though. I've already been taken care of, but I might come talk to you if I need another cleaning and Haruji's still got his plate full.

I should be more careful about complaining about having nothing to fight. Shit like this tends to happen just when I'm getting bored.

Mostly the same stuff other people seemed to run into. Those robots, the altar, that room with the mirrors.

[shakes his head] I never saw any altar, so that's new to me. Vietnam mentioned it. The mirror room, though, yeah, I saw that. Creepy place.

I didn't like that place.

But the altar— I was talking to Viridi about it, and we think spirits or people with ties to the spirit world were brought there. ...Earlier, a bunch of us got taken to the Code, and those guys were missing from that place.

[So one and one makes a very unpleasant picture, here.]

[that's about as much as he grasps, Mr. Denial hasn't experienced "the Code" or anything else. Life and death are life and death to him, not digital experiences or glitches.]

Weird. But I guess spirits...and an altar. [oh wait Vietnam said 'sacrificial' so it finally sort of clicks, and Zoro makes a disturbed face] You mean to tell me they were sacrificing spirits?!

[He's quiet for a second, since he hasn't actually verbally drawn that conclusion yet even though basically everyone's been on the same page mentally.]

...Yeah. I'm pretty sure that's what they were doing there. It might've just been a trick to freak us out or something, but I really don't think so - especially not with them missing from the Code and all. I heard everyone goes to that place when they disappear, but not those guys. Not us.

[There does seem to be a difference between death and small absences, and the longer and more permanent ones. Though even Mikazuki and Kogitsunemaru and Tsurumaru have come and gone before... Horikawa, too.

You find out who did it, I wanna be in line with all the rest of you to have my turn cutting them to pieces. This kind of shit has to stop.

Mm, I won't keep any of that info to myself if I figure it out. I'll share whatever I do know.

Seems like I missed out on the worst of it, if all I did was fight trash-monsters and cave-monsters.

Not a bad thing. I wouldn't have minded just being able to fight some stuff.

Those guys could be pretty nasty too, though... Especially the ones outside.

Yeah, but for most people, the fighting stuff is the part they don't like. It wasn't bad. Annoying, mostly. At least the monsters down below stayed down, or else all of us would've starved to death.

[Or at least the ones who had to eat, anyway... A group that Kashuu is not a part of, but he'd done his job in making sure none of the actual humans went without food for long.]

And good thing they weren't poisonous, either.
