[ As a (mostly) selfish individual, Rin often stuck to the familiar and that often meant focusing on her own needs over the needs of others. The few times she did get close ended painfully from what she's read from her previous incarnation, so why bother risking that? Shouldn't she remain steadfast to her mission (whatever that was now) and stray from distractions?

That would be the smart way to handle things.

People who suffer from amnesia tend to not make smart decisions. There's no fear of risk because they simply can't recall the pain of loss due to memory loss and so Rin, who usually kept to herself, only had her memories of the CERES colony to push her forward. There was the instinctual life of being a lone soldier behind her actions at times and at others... ]

Hey Lee-kun! [ Oh hey, she's using that honorific now. Yes, some blonde girl is shouting in honorifics outside his door. ] Let me in! I brought us lunch!

[ Holding up the bag in her other hand as she bangs on his door relentlessly. ] Hurry up, before someone sees me out here!

[It was fortuitous timing. Rock Lee had just been finishing a set of push-ups in his living room and had just been starting to wonder about what to do for lunch. He perks up when he hears the familiar loud voice at his door.]

Rin-san! Is that you?! [Is there any reason to doubt at all? Lee quickly hops up to his feet and makes his way towards the door.] Ah... and did you say lunch?! That - that is so kind of you!!

[Seemingly oblivious to the banging on his door, now he beams cheerily as he opens the door for her.] Please come in!

Ah! [ Good thing she stops her fist in time or else he might have gotten a knuckle sandwich for lunch. ]

That's right. I will come in and make myself at home. [ Which she wastes no further time in discussing. Moving past him, she'll survey the area out of instinct and make note of anything out of place. ]

You have been quiet, you know. I was starting to worry.

[He just blinks at the proximity of her fist and sheepishy shuffles to the side as she enters.]

I appreciate your conviction, Rin-san! [There isn't that much of interest. It's fairly neat - Lee must have used cleaning as a training exercise recently - and there's just a few dumbbells scattered on the floor. Lee himself looks to be his normal self for the most part - just not one hundred percent back up to speed just yet.]

Ah... but I apologize for worrying you! [He frowns.] I did not mean to be so silent... I was trapped in that mysterious other area for several days, and then I had some injuries to recover some. But, my youth is back at full power now!! And, I am very glad to see you!

Huh? You were trapped there too?

[ She recalls that Archer was there recently but it wasn't as troubling as other times. They were still able to communicate with one another so she didn't think of it as dangerous... but there's something off about what he said. Injuries to recover from meant...! ]

You were hurt and you didn't tell me?!

[Oh, there's the anger of Rin Tohsaka. Rock Lee shrinks back from it.]

A-ah... Y-yes. ...To... both questions...!

[He takes a deep breath.]

You should be sorry! [ She may not be able to remember much but she can recall how to get upset easily. ]

What if you were seriously injured and couldn't get around? What if you died here by yourself without anyone knowing? I could have been greeted by a ghost!

[ ... they probably weren't that serious but she's Dramatic. ]

W-well... I did have some comrades down there who were able to help out! [He gives a weak smile to plead with her anger.] So... it would not have come to that, Rin-san! I promise! The only spirit of mine you will ever have to see, is - is the blaze of my fighting spirit!!

[ His reply seems to calm her enough. ] That's right... you have friends who were looking out for you.

[ Plus she's certain that if he was in any true danger that Archer would have helped him out for her sake. ]

Do you want to talk about what happened while we eat or should we discuss something a little less gruesome?

Ah... I do not mind speaking about it over lunch, Rin-san, as long as you are alright with it!

[He pauses for a moment in thought, as if trying to assess something.]

I suppose that it was not an especially gruesome time!

Then it'd make for acceptable dinner conversation. [ Besides it may lead into her asking about Naruto and Lee's opinion on that matter altogether will have made this trip worthwhile.

Not that visiting with him was without value to her. It's a precious thing that she won't speak on much. ]

Dinner is what the Westerners call lunch. I don't really understand it myself.

Ah... Is that so? I do not understand it either! They should be different things...

...but, that does not matter! [He smiles as he makes his way to the table.] I am glad just to spend time with you, Rin-san, and I will be glad to explain everything!

[ Following after him, she holds out the bag of something obviously acquired from a fast food joint. There's no way anything within that bag is healthy judging by the various grease spots on it. ]

It's cheeseburgers! [ She's so proud of her ability to purchase food on the way to someone's place. ]

[As she urges him not to leave out any details, Lee makes a wordless promise by looking back at her and balling up a fist in determination while slightly nodding his head!

Then he blinks as he looks at the bag while going to sit at the able.]

Ah... Cheeseburgers! I tried them once when I was new to this place... It was kind of you to bring some, Rin-san!

They're greasy and not at all healthy for you which is why I love them.

[ Archer, on the other hand, will probably cry a single tear knowing she ate out instead of eating his cooking. ]

You have something we can drink? I thought you would so I didn't bother.

I love that about them as well! [He beams, and that may be confusing to hear until he elaborates.] Eating something that unhealthy gives me a new challenge to work on through exercise!

[Lee smiles and nods at her question.]

Yes, I do have several beverages around! Rin-san, would you prefer water, tea, or a protein shake?!

Protein shake. [ Despite her lack of care when it comes to food, she still does strive to remain in shape in other ways. ]

Maybe after we're done catching up, we can work it off together provided your injuries wouldn't get in the way.

Coming right up! And I will match you! [He hurries over to the fridge and pulls out two protein shakes.]

I would be glad for that! Do not worry... an angel healed most of my injuries, so I can certainly handle some exercise!

An angel healed them? [ Rin had expressed an interest early on in healing or rather, Archer insisted she learn how to do so before.

Not that she believes she's capable of real magic. It may be in her bloodline but she's never known it in her life. Learning something of that nature now would be hard work and lately she's been lazy.

Although if people like Rock Lee were getting hurt... hm. ]

Angels aren't real, you know.

Ah... b-but she was real, Rin-san. I am sure of it! Otome-san summoned that angel, and- and she healed me!

[He frowns in confusion as he hands her one protein shake before sitting down with his own.]

[ During filler arcs. ] Otome-san summoned an angel? Hmm...

[ Is it really something she needs to fixate on so much? There's stranger incidents taking place here on a daily basis but now that her mind is fixated on the matter, it'll be hard to shake it. ]

I've never seen an angel before. You're generally not supposed to, right?

She did! She is a nice lady who works at the hospital...

[He frowns more thoughtfully as he thinks about that.]

Ah... I suppose not! Does- does that mean that I am very lucky?! Or, blessed?

Wouldn't it be both if your life was saved by a rare enough occurrence?

[ Shaking up the drink, she joins him with a thoughtful look of her own. ] I wouldn't dwell so much on it but you have thanked this Otome-san, right? For being kind and helping you?

[He smiles as he thinks that over.] I did thank her! From the bottom of my heart, Rin-san!

[ She's been surrounded by too many selfish assholes as of late. It's up to her to make sure gratitude is spread when it is has been earned. ]

Well, I am glad to confirm that for you! [He grins, and then he proceeds to down his protein shake.]

It was a bit of an ordeal down there!

[ Rin takes her time with her own, not having much of a stomach for it these days. She used to rely on them constantly but now with Archer cooking for her daily... well, there's no need for any of it. ]

Down there? [ She asks, expecting him to expand on his statement. ]

[He nods, while he looks towards that main course, the burger.]

When we were taken away, we ended up in this underground area. It had paths going up and down. The upper path brought us to a city! It looked a lot like the colony, except that it seemed to have been abandoned for a very long time!

[ Pushing it towards him closer. Get to it, Lee. ]

Wait, were you underground still when you discovered this city? [ Did that build a colony atop another? That's not stable in the slightest. ]

[He will! He takes one mighty bite as he thinks it over.]

The city was above ground! But, it was dark there... It seems that the area might be the one that is hidden behind that wall in the residential district!

Were there any computers? [ Rin no... this is probably a bad idea, but now he has her thinking. With half a fry still in her mouth, she clarifies with further questions. ]

You know, technology. Anything that looks like what we have here?

It did look like technology that we have here! But, the area was very rundown, and I could not find anything that would work!

Really... that's a shame.

[ She smiles at that though. ] You thought to look? I'm impressed, Lee-kun.

Ah... Thank you! I tried! We had our Cerevices, but they were not working right, and we could not reach anyone who was not stuck there with us... so we were trying to see if there was any other way to make contact!

[ She deflates a little at that. ] That was the reason..? It isn't a bad one but Lee-kun, look at it this way.

You're aware that you can search past posts to the network through your Cerevice? Imagine if it was the same for older technology here. [ It's easier to explain it like this rather than get into the whole data extraction thing with him. ] We could know what happened to the colonies before ours.

Ah... Is that so? [He frowns in thought.]

I apologize, Rin-san! That is a very nice idea, and it did not occur to me at all! It- it would be so great to know more about the past!!
