What: Rise's getting back out in the colony and dragging people along for the ride with her daily routine.

[Even if by Cerealia standards it's her birthday, Rise doesn't think anything of it. Things are different here and she has a long day ahead of her. But at least it's nice to be on some kind of schedule again and get back to the way things were.]

A.) Catch a glimpse of the hollow world;

[The morning starts early for Rise Kujikawa with a bright and early call for a photoshoot. She never realized that a "sunglasses model" could be a real job but here she is bright and early when the sun is just perfect to capture the product without the glare effect. Did you happen to stumble onto the scene of this shoot? You might find Rise perusing a table of glasses that she's meant to put on her face and she'll turn with a small grin on her face.]

Which one do you think I should start with first?

[Alternatively, later in the shoot she's put on a pair that's a liiiiittle too dark and it makes it hard to see. Sorry if she happens to bump into you on her way to put them back.]

B.) Turning misery into meaningfulness;

[Later in the day she's in front of a storefront in the shopping district with a plate of tofu samples. This feels a little more like home, weirdly enough, and even if she's dressed down in a work smock she seems oddly relaxed. She won't hesitate to stop anybody who wanders by, maybe even tapping the shoulder of the person if it's someone she knows (hell, maybe even the people she doesn't know.)]

Free sample? It's fresh…they're trying a new recipe in there. [She has opinions on said-tofu, but collecting information and backing said-opinions is never a bad thing.]

C.) Gaze in fascination so hard;

[Regardless, even if she has a busy busy day she's going to take time for herself even if it kills her. That's what this is about, isn't it? Relaxing, getting back to a normal life after the trauma that came from that weird, dark area. After her shift at the tofu shop she'll even text a few friends.]

Weather's great! Wanna come up?

[Friends who text back will get an answer, but for anybody who…happens…to be prone to being on rooftops they'll find that Rise's dragged a couple of chairs up to the roof of her apartment building, an umbrella tilted just enough for the slightest amount of shade and sprawled out in one of the lounge chairs dressed in a bikini with yet another pair of sunglasses on.]

It's perfect, isn't it?

D.) You know the stake in high stardom is near;

[And so the sun sets. The day goes on, and there's one more shift to take care of in her day before she's satisfied. Anyone in the Entertainment District may find that several colonists are heading for one particular karaoke bar. Entering the bar, you'll find that Rise is at the mic and it's here she's in her most natural environment as she continues her performance. When she finishes the song and the applause dies, she peers around before her eyes land on you, a playful smirk on her face as she speaks into the mic.]

I think it's your turn to sing a song for us! What do you say?

[Looks like the crowd agrees.]

[Or maybe you find yourself at the bar later and she finishes another song. No matter who it is, she'll slide into the seat next to you and she doesn't even appear winded as she speaks up.]

Who knew aliens liked music so much?

E.) Looking so different glaring street light;

[Or you can wildcard her! She can be found anywhere in the above locations, wandering the colony, or maybe you're a friend who happens to bump into her. Bring it on.]

You've really gotta work on your greetings. [She's even moving to the front to see him better.] It's just me.

[ he breathes out a sigh of relief. his relief even shows with the way his shoulders slump. ]

Oh, thank god... [ but that's enough of him acting like a total crybaby. his expression turns serious. ] What's up?

[She feels like they've made some progress at least that he's able to even relax around her and she returns the question with a semi-amused smile. She doesn't speak at first before she twists her wrist to present him with a serving tray and several pieces of tofu with toothpicks stuck in them.]

Got time to give me your opinion on something?

[ there really has been some progress, because yata isn't even stammering while talking to her anymore. so that's good! ]

[She looks down at the tofu before looking at Yata again.]

Taste-testing! I already know which of these I like but it's up to the public to really back me up on this.

Do you know a lot of idiots who do or...? [She glances at the tray again, rotating it to present one specific piece to him.] Try this one.

My friend only ever eats candies and shit— [ he grabs a toothpick and stabs the tofu with it before putting it in his mouth.

he laughs. ]

You really think so? [YATA YOU HAVE MADE HER SO HAPPY!] I was hoping you'd say that! I really had to try and convince them that this one was going to be okay among the colony since it's a little spicier than some tofu should be, but we can't keep selling really bland stuff.

And isn't eating mostly candy pretty bad for you?

Tell that to Saruhiko. [ he places a hand on his hip, his bag of groceries on his other hand. ]

So, you sellin' these or what?

I would if I had any idea who that was. [No really, she absolutely would...]

And something like that! The whole idea is for me to decide what's best for the store, poll the public, send 'em in to buy some. [She even ends up mirroring his stance.] Think it's working?

He's... [ softly, and muffled, ] a friend.

But, uh, yeah, I think it's working.

[She considers him carefully for a moment.]

You don't sound too sure about that. [The first part, she means.] Is the whole friendship thing really that questionable?

Well-- [ more vague hand gestures... ] We were best friends, then he betrayed me, and now we're friends again.

It's not so bad having him around again.

[ in fact, it's the best feeling. ]

[That sounds pretty complicated. But it's not her business and though she would love to ask and maybe meet the guy herself she knows with Yata she has to just let things lie and go at his own pace.]

I'm really glad you have someone like that to rely on then. It's not easy being friends with someone after a blow-up like that. [She knows. But it was a little different for her and Yu...]

I bet if you took him some of this tofu he wouldn't hate it.

[ his expression turns sour, and immediately, he responds: ]

He would hate it.

[ yeah, that's right. ]

All he eats are candy and energy bars.

Then we get him to try sweet tofu. [She considers the shop for a moment.] You can't live on energy bars, that's totally disgusting.

Sweet tofu, huh? [ he perks up. ] Alright, let's try that.

And yeah, it is. I have to shove the good stuff in his mouth just so he'll eat. He's like a little kid sometimes.

I didn't know you were qualified to be a babysitter. [It's a light jab, but she hopes Yata knows by now that she's kidding. She picks up the tray, gesturing for him to follow her into the shop.] C'mon. I'll package you up a block to take home and you can tell me more about his tastes.

[ he does follow her to the shop, even offering to carry the tray for her... but ah, she's got it under control. ]

Awesome. Are they cheap?

[Yata you're a good friend, but she's good. She'll even put the tray down before disappearing behind the counter. The shop itself is quaint but bright, clean with glass display cases of different kinds of tofu. There's a stove behind the counter with some soup simmering and what looks like half a block that's already been cut off.]

You're still trying to recover from blowing all your money on games? [Yeah, she heard that announcement, too.] Don't worry about it. I can discount it for you if you get a certain amount.

Heh! I've managed to score another job, so I won't be broke for long!
