[open] Ain't it great, how we met each other
Who: Rise Kujikawa and YOU! Yes, even you.
When: 6/1
Where: Lots of locations, CYA, etc etc.
What: Rise's getting back out in the colony and dragging people along for the ride with her daily routine.
Rating/Warning: Probably not yet.
[Even if by Cerealia standards it's her birthday, Rise doesn't think anything of it. Things are different here and she has a long day ahead of her. But at least it's nice to be on some kind of schedule again and get back to the way things were.]
A.) Catch a glimpse of the hollow world;
[The morning starts early for Rise Kujikawa with a bright and early call for a photoshoot. She never realized that a "sunglasses model" could be a real job but here she is bright and early when the sun is just perfect to capture the product without the glare effect. Did you happen to stumble onto the scene of this shoot? You might find Rise perusing a table of glasses that she's meant to put on her face and she'll turn with a small grin on her face.]
Which one do you think I should start with first?
[Alternatively, later in the shoot she's put on a pair that's a liiiiittle too dark and it makes it hard to see. Sorry if she happens to bump into you on her way to put them back.]
Sorry! Geez, these are way too effective…
B.) Turning misery into meaningfulness;
[Later in the day she's in front of a storefront in the shopping district with a plate of tofu samples. This feels a little more like home, weirdly enough, and even if she's dressed down in a work smock she seems oddly relaxed. She won't hesitate to stop anybody who wanders by, maybe even tapping the shoulder of the person if it's someone she knows (hell, maybe even the people she doesn't know.)]
Free sample? It's fresh…they're trying a new recipe in there. [She has opinions on said-tofu, but collecting information and backing said-opinions is never a bad thing.]
C.) Gaze in fascination so hard;
[Regardless, even if she has a busy busy day she's going to take time for herself even if it kills her. That's what this is about, isn't it? Relaxing, getting back to a normal life after the trauma that came from that weird, dark area. After her shift at the tofu shop she'll even text a few friends.]
Weather's great! Wanna come up?
[Friends who text back will get an answer, but for anybody who…happens…to be prone to being on rooftops they'll find that Rise's dragged a couple of chairs up to the roof of her apartment building, an umbrella tilted just enough for the slightest amount of shade and sprawled out in one of the lounge chairs dressed in a bikini with yet another pair of sunglasses on.]
It's perfect, isn't it?
D.) You know the stake in high stardom is near;
[And so the sun sets. The day goes on, and there's one more shift to take care of in her day before she's satisfied. Anyone in the Entertainment District may find that several colonists are heading for one particular karaoke bar. Entering the bar, you'll find that Rise is at the mic and it's here she's in her most natural environment as she continues her performance. When she finishes the song and the applause dies, she peers around before her eyes land on you, a playful smirk on her face as she speaks into the mic.]
I think it's your turn to sing a song for us! What do you say?
[Looks like the crowd agrees.]
[Or maybe you find yourself at the bar later and she finishes another song. No matter who it is, she'll slide into the seat next to you and she doesn't even appear winded as she speaks up.]
Who knew aliens liked music so much?
E.) Looking so different glaring street light;
[Or you can wildcard her! She can be found anywhere in the above locations, wandering the colony, or maybe you're a friend who happens to bump into her. Bring it on.]

I'm really glad you think so! I wasn't entirely sure about it first since I think it could still use a little kick of something, but the longer I thought about it the more I liked it. Now it's just making sure the public likes it, too.
So what you're really trying to say is that you're like a security guard. Patrolling the area and keeping all of us safe. [She laughs, even if she's eyeing the sword.] Please tell me you don't have to use that thing very often out here.
no subject
Maybe something spicier could do the trick? Wasabi tends to give a kick to most anything.
[it certainly makes pancakes taste better, that’s for sure. (no, no it doesn't...)]
Patrol officer, actually, and not that frequently, thankfully. Most situations I’ve managed to diffuse with either words or my hands as opposed to weapons.
[having a damn good and strong grip tends to knock the fight out of people. the uniform doesn't really make it obvious just how muscular twisting someone's arm as intensely as he can takes them off guard, too.]
no subject
Oh god. Nonono, she actually seems to be considering the idea of adding wasabi to the tofu and she looks at the tray thoughtfully.]
Spicier's always better, right? It's what makes flavors really last, and wasabi can mix pretty well. Maybe I'll suggest that next time! [RIP Cerealia. Still, she's more focused on what Flynn's saying and nodding along.] Anyway, that's probably a good thing. I didn't think it was actually really that dangerous here, but I guess it's because there's people like you watching out for all of us.
no subject
there's a nod of approval at those words about spiciness. a truer (and more horrific) truth has never been spoken.]
I hope that the suggestion goes over well.
[surely wasabi on tofu is normal or at least more so than wasabi with pancakes. surely!!]
The city itself helps. CERES and their antics aside, there isn't much in the way of danger here.

[it might actually be a nice place to live! still not flynn's first choice given he'll take his own world any day, but better than constantly being on guard in case mosley gets bored and turns them all into birds or something.]
no subject
[She shakes her head suddenly.] Ugh. Thinking about it is pretty depressing if you think too long. ["So let's not."] How long are you on duty today?
no subject
[or maybe even a lot. ceres really is the root of most evil in this place and not much can presently be done about it. depressing indeed. topic change happily approved. the question gets flynn to glance at his cerevice to check the time.]
For about another hour or so. I need to figure out what to make for dinner tonight before then, as well.
[the second sentence is said more to himself than anything else. since yuri's arm is still out of service, the meal maker gets to be flynn! ...though with yuri watching him like a hawk and guiding him through most of it to prevent flynn's, erm, special sort of improvising.]
no subject
You're cooking for more than yourself? I might be able to help brainstorm some ideas.
[Flynn no, please think of Yuri's health.]
no subject
[a close friend who'll probably regret ever agreeing to letting flynn cook after today because the offer gains a bright smile in return. please do help and prove that yuri has the worst luck in the universe.]
I'd appreciate anything you might suggest, Miss.
no subject
It's Rise. Miss just...sounds weird. [But she gets that Flynn's the most knightly knight to ever knight.] And I don't mind or anything! We have a bunch of recipes inside the shop, and we have some books back at our apartment that're good guidelines. Think of a list of things you and your friend would like to eat and I can text you ideas.
no subject
[knightly knight ever but a knight that listens to people's preferences!]
He enjoys just about anything sweet and I enjoy anything with meat, though neither of us are particularly picky about what we eat.
[ignoring the fact flynn hates fish but he'd still stomach it if she suggests something fishy. it'd be rude to ignore suggestions even if he doesn't personally like the dish. ...despite the icky fish texture and the icky fish taste and... ugh, fish.]
no subject
I think I know the perfect thing for both of you! [She's already pulling out her CereVice (Rise what are you doing with the tray of tofu???) and she's already writing out a list of ingredients.] Everything should be really easy to find and it's not too hard to make.
[A pause.] ...I never got your name, did I?
no subject
but the perfect thing, eh? how perfect of an upset stomach will yuri have after this, that is the question. flynn's smile falters a bit at the mention of his name. ah, he'd forgotten to introduce himself, hadn't he? good job with those manners. smiling resumes quickly enough as the mysterious stranger finally introduces himself.]
Ah, I apologize for that. My name is Flynn Scifo.
no subject
Flynn? Like Yuri's Flynn?
[Yup. That's the title you're earning, Flynn, congratulations. Nothing is more important now than that question]
no subject
Yes, that's right. You've met Yuri?
[hopefully with minimal rudeness on yuri's end. a usually futile hope, but flynn can dream of a not rude best friend.]
no subject
[And here she gives Flynn another playful smile.] It's nice to know he has somebody like you on his side. [i.e. someone who actually isn't immediately "I'm gonna wreck it."]
no subject
It's good to know he's made friends with someone like yourself, as well.
[maybe some nicer influences will make him nic...... okay, that's deluding himself, but still, it's good that yuri's making friends with some really nice people.]
I know Yuri isn't the easiest person to get along with so it always makes me happy when people manage to see past that.
no subject
Besides...he's probably one of those guys who's a total softie underneath all that anyway.
no subject
I agree wholeheartedly.
[everyone deserves a chance, just like yuri deserves to have his cool reputation ruined in one foul swoop by flynn.]
And softer than you can imagine. If someone's in need, Yuri will aid them without much of a second thought. [he laughs lightly.] Usually, without any thought at all.
no subject
But...any friend of Yuri's is a friend of mine. So feel free to come by more often, okay?
no subject
[getting a little tofu in the future while chatting with rise sounds nice. that said, this is the now and now involves him getting back to work. one can't be a workaholic without actually working, after all.]
I should get back to my patrol. Thank you in advance for whatever recipes you send.
