Who: Yukina Suzumori (
snowyoni) & various others + OPEN
When: IC (05/31 - 06/15) ;; OOC (all of March)
Where: CERES Gymnasium, CERES Academy Kendo Room + Gym.
What: Yukina's post on 05/16 about sparring partners garnered interest. Now it's time for first meetings and practice!
Rating/Warning: None at present.
[On various mornings throughout the month, those who expressed interest in sparring may find a message from a certain young woman. The swift departure for Cerealia's darker side coupled with the memories kindled by it had left her questioning and quiet for some time. ... Well that and it's taken her a bit to understand how messaging works on the CereVice, alright?
Either way the message will be very polite and invite those interested to come to either the CERES Gymnasium if they aren't students or the CERES Academy's Kendo Room or Gymnasium if they are at a specific date and time. Unfortunately some of her messages may have gotten sent to the wrong people so it's perfectly possible for those who didn't volunteer to end up with a message as well.
Once there they'll find Yukina waiting for them dressed down for practice... or at least in what she regards as dressed down.]
--
[OOC: If your character didn't respond to Yukina's search for sparring/training partners, you're perfectly welcome to assume they got a message in error. No sparring is necessary, drop in just to see who the heck messaged you.
Feel free to PM or PP @ goodluckstarfighter with any questions.]

He doesn't really care whether or not his sparring partner is dressed down; in any case, she was wearing something appropriate for training and that's enough for him.]
Good morning, Miss Yukina.
no subject
Good morning.
[Once he's a bit closer, she notes the wet hair with some interest.]
Is it raining outside?
no subject
Ah, no. I just went swimming.
[Edgeworth jerks a thumb over at the general direction of the gym's pool.]
no subject
[Nobles may have decorative pools near their mansions and people may swim in natural lakes but she's never seen artificial ones of that size.]
I just realized that I could summon Gant with my last tag
Please don't. The suit will blind us all.
HO HO HO, WORTHY, SWIMMING YOU SAY?
Gaaaaaah, I hated that guy.
There were worse though.
Could be worse. Could be Wendy.
...that IS worse.

Yukina-san! We meet again!

... You came through the window?

That's right! [A fuzzy brow drifts curiously upwards.] Is that alright with you, Yukina-san?

[ Nope, just another regular day for him. A day that seems to be promising, what with Yukina's message. He'd get to blow off some steam this way, and maybe it'd even be fun. ]
[ Souji arrives at dusk, a couple of minutes behind the appointed time, but he doesn't look very sorry about it... Instead, he saunters on in, sword and wakizashi at his waist, and dressed in his usual traditional getup. He looks Yukina up and down. Then, without so much as a greeting - ]
Huh. So you showed up after all.
no subject
... Why wouldn't I?
[She's the one that message him so...]
no subject
You might have changed your mind at the last moment -- though I wouldn't have blamed you. People have run away before.
[ Ronins and the like. Even students from the dojo sometimes. Souji had built up a nasty reputation of taking spars too seriously, after all. ]
no subject
I wouldn't run away from you before I even fought you.
[That seems rather presumptuous of either being beaten or him not being worth her time, yes? Either way it's a disrespectful move.]
I would rather see how skilled you are before I retreated. I'll never learn if I simply run from everything.

well, it's rude to ignore an invitation.
yukina might be disappointed to see the gym door creak open just a sliver, and a shy face pokes in. it's clearly not someone dressed for sparring, and he looks rather confused and nervous. ]
Um, excuse me? Is there some sort of, um, meeting here?
no subject
I don't believe so.
[A meeting? Well beyond her own... ah. The confusion in her expression eases into surprise.]
I did send some messages about sparring to others but...
[He certainly wasn't one of them since she didn't know him.]
no subject
Ah. I -- guess I must have gotten the message by mistake, sorry. Maybe my number's similar to someone you meant to send a message to.
[ an awkward laugh as his words taper off, and for a moment it looks like lop's ready to leave. but he hesitates. waffles on the spot, gripping tighter at the door, before venturing a little nervously: ]
Um, but. If ... if it's not much trouble for you, is there any chance I could watch? Um, your sparring, that is. I don't have any experience in anything like that. In fighting. But -- I guess I'm a little curious. Especially in a place like this.
/sob, he's so cute
I don't mind others watching, no.
[Tension leaves her shoulders. Obviously he's not too upset over the mistake and it warms her heart a little to find someone so curious about fighting in general. She smiles a little gently.]
I believe it's important to know how to defend oneself. I understand not everyone enjoys fighting however. Hopefully you're never in such a position here where you would need to.
[She bows after that, proper with her introductions.]
I'm Yukina. I apologize for the earlier message, I'm still learning the technology here.
aaa thank you, i've just been itching for a chance to hit up yukina myself ... !
bless, that's so sweet. thank you. c:

Hey, it's not like he doesn't have the time, right? So he flies to the Gymnasium to at least check out what she's up to.]
Huh. So you really are starting a sparring group. I was wondering. There seem to be a lot of fighters around.
[Yes, the armor is talking to her as it enters the building. Hi.]
no subject
Then it speaks. And then she goes wide-eyed.]
Tony?
[... It didn't eat him, did it?]
no subject
[The metal figure is waving at her as he takes a look around too, just as casual as he could get. Apparently Tony doesn't realize how he's coming across to her.]
I mean, it looked like a mass forward, but still. I thought I'd come see how things are going. Is this a training day? Did I miss anything good?
[Tony. You're not reassuring her at all.]

She enters the gym and then a big smile crosses her face. She had met this person before through her previous video! Her hand raises to wave towards her]
Hello! It's nice to see you in person!
no subject
Ah... hello.
[A beat.]
You aren't waiting on someone, are you?
[Had someone else made plans here for today?]
no subject
Silly technology, you can never tell when wires will get crossed and messages will go to people you didn't expect! But, I don't mind since I get the chance to speak to you again.
