a) practice makes perfect!

[ For those who are wandering around the residential district, Alisha will be practicing swinging her lance in one of the more open, more abandoned areas. She'll try various ways - swinging her lance to the side, and then thrusting it in front of her with faint cries.

When she stops, she lets out a breath, as though having been tense while practicing her movements. She looks to her lance warily, and then to the ground. ]

I cannot allow myself to become rusty now...

b) the sheltered princess wants to... practice cooking?

[ After practicing her technique, Alisha makes her way to the shopping district. She nearly looks lost as she looks from store to store, hands tucked behind her back as she leans in to read different signs in the window. She frowns faintly, tilting her head slightly in confusion.

She straightens herself, sighing slightly. ]

I suppose I should have done my research before shopping for ingredients. Perhaps I can bake a decent desert for Sorey and the others for now instead.

[ She wanted to expand her cooking knowledge somehow, but... She has no idea where to start. She's always had someone to cook for her, even while she's been here. ]

c) (closed to rose)

[ They've made their way towards the darker areas of the city. It might be dangerous with just the two of them, yet Alisha knows that Sorey and the others need all the time they need to rest. She looks to Rose with a frown, concern evident in her features. ]

I appreciate your help, but are you certain? There may be monsters lurking within.

[ She knows that Rose is strong. She's Sorey's Squire, isn't she? Yet, she knows that strength is easily to exhaust all the same. ]

[ Alisha jumps when Edna seems to appear seemingly out of no where behind her - which almost instantly draws a light blush to cheeks. She should've at least noticed someone right behind her. ]

Lady Edna! Good Afternoon! [ She bows her head slightly before taking in her question, and crossing her arms. ] ... Oh, no. I was simply thinking to myself that I should have memorized what ingredients I would need.

[ Seraphim aren't particularly unused to being unnoticed, but here...resonance is wacky, even moreso that Alisha's actually staying with them and probably building her natural resonance up by living in close proximity for extended periods of time. It's not a-lifetime-of-living-in-Elysia levels of resonance increase, but it certainly doesn't hurt.

She stares at her dispassionately. ]

For what? Have any dastardly schemes involving food in mind?

[ She's not you, Edna. ]

"Dastardly?"

[ She stops to take in her words, only for her eyes to widen slightly. ]

--Oh, no! I wouldn't, Lady Edna! I had been hoping to prepare a meal for everyone at home, after all.

[earthpulse]

Is that all?

[ Why...does Edna sound a bit disappointed at that.........sure, Edna. Although it brings to mind her culinary abilities, or her potential lack thereof. ]

...Have you even ever prepared a meal by yourself?

[ It's not meant to be a disdainful question at all, just genuine curiosity. ]

Not yet, but-- I plan to work hard and use Lord Mikleo's teachings to the best of my ability!

[ .......... who only taught her how to bake. ]

Didn't he only teach you baking?

[ She heaves a sigh, as if it's some great imposition to do what she says next, an idea forming in her mind. ]

...If you're that determined, then I, out of the purity and goodness of my heart, will offer to teach you how to cook properly.

[ She's never lead them astray with her meals before...this will be the first, unfortunately for Mikleo. ]

That's right, but he also told me that cooking in general was simply following recipes. I feel as though I'd be able to do that much.

[ She's determined to try... It can't be too difficult, right? Though, she stops when Edna speaks again, eyes wide in surprise. ]

--You would, Lady Edna?! I would be honored to learn from you!

[earthpulse]

[ Following recipes...that's pretty much true, but what separates decent cooking from great cooking (in her opinion) is precise timing and knack for telling when something is ready or not. You can't pull off a 100 point drago stew without knowing your stuff. ]

I'm a very strict teacher, but well...you know what my cooking is like. No pain, no gain.

[ Amazing...when she actually puts in the effort, that is. Without further ado, she scans the surrounding area for ingredients. ]

Do you have any type of dish in mind?

[patrimony]

[ A strict teacher... Knowing Edna, she can already tell that that much is definitely true. Suddenly, Alisha looks far more serious. Her brows furrow, and her mouth presses together. ]

I'll do my best to pay close attention to everything that you have to teach!

[patrimony]

Oh, no. Nothing in particular. To be honest, Lady Edna, I wanted to make something a while back to welcome everyone back home.

[earthpulse]

[ She pauses for a moment. Hell week was kind of a struggle indeed. ]

Hm. Something hearty, then.

[ "Hearty", more like. ]

...Curry with a twist on the sauce. Mixed up with some rice, vegetables and fish.

[ Sounds simple and healthy enough, right? Aside from curry sauce having a multitude of spices and thus places where one could go terribly wrong. Edna's experiments do tend to be on the spicier side than not, unfortunately... ]

Would... fish go good with curry?

[ She's not doubting what Edna has to say. She's just-- making sure. ]

It'd be healthy, filling, and mild-flavored enough to balance out the sauce, wouldn't you say? We might have to amp up the flavor of the curry sauce to give the dish a kick.

[ But curry's supposed to have a kick anyway, so if someone passes out, then they did their job!!! Totally. ]

[patrimony]

[ there's an impressed 'oh!' that can be heard from alisha. ] I didn't know you were so knowledgeable about culinary skills, Lady Edna.

I've had time to pick a few skills up, which includes cooking.

[ And since she's a seraph, that means... ]

...A lot of time.

[ It's not like she had much to do on Rayfalke aside from training and taking care of shrines. That's not a topic she's all too keen on talking about, though, so drill sergeant Edna mode it is. ]

First things first, we need to pick out the right ingredients. Fetch me some oranges, red peppers, turnips, and another vegetable of your choice. Chop chop.

[ She'll handle the fish and some other ingredients, keeping in mind that after their first little "experiment", she'll have to teach Alisha how to cook for real, so that in the rare case she and Mikleo are both absent, the Zesty apartment won't have to starve or be driven to eat black gooey stuff. Rose can apparently make a kickass baumkuchen, but they can't subsist on that!! ]

[ That does make her wonder how old Edna is, but she knows far better than to ask. A lady's age is a sensitive topic!

However, when Edna starts giving her orders, her brows furrow, and she looks more determined then ever. ]

Understood! I'll go gather and purchase those right away!

[ And, she's off. ]
