What: Amidst a flurry of relationship drama, two best friends blow off some steam by destroying everything that gets in their way.

[The last week hasn't been easy for Weiss Schnee. Between fear of replacement, mask possession, and nearly killing Ruby's boyfriend, there's been plenty of guilt and stress on the heiress' shoulders. She's mostly kept herself locked in her apartment since then, only responding to texts every once in a while. But eventually the day comes where Weiss realizes that fluffy blankets and ice cream aren't making her feel better. If she's going to deal with her problems, she needs to do it head-on.

And what better way to beat your demons than literally beating up demons? It's time to grab your Ruby and jump on ViViD.]

[Ruby is always down for ViViD shenanigans; in a place where they really don't get to fight monsters that much, ViViD combat is both good practice and good stress relief. And while she's been better off than...apparently 90% of her friends, it's still been a lot for even her to deal with.

She's relieved when Weiss extends the invitation.

It means that Weiss isn't completely isolating herself, and that's a good start to things.]

Soooo, what kinda level do you wanna do?

[She finally pipes up when they're right outside of the arcade, ready to shove open the door to the ViViD stations.]

[Unlike Ruby, there's a very short list of people in this world that Weiss cares about. It makes it easier for her to just cut herself off when she's feeling down, but it also makes it harder for her to cheer up. It's been difficult transitioning into this new life, and losing the comforts of home only stressed her out more.

Thankfully she had Ruby, Yang, and to an extent Jaune to add some semblance of normalcy to her life.]

What do you think-- a bunch of little monsters or one big one?

[Thankfully, there are always partners--partners and monster fighting in ViViD. Ruby hums thoughtfully at that (why not both), but ultimately what she decides on is:]

Ooooone big one!

[A beat, and she admits:]

I feel like we're always stuck fighting big monsters nowadays so we may as well practice more, right?

You've got a point. Say what you want about CERES, but they definitely have a thing for big and scary.

[She shrugs.]

I'll let you handle the fine details.

[Which...she will do. Are you sure you want to make Ruby handle the fine details, Weiss. Ruby's not really the most trustworthy when it comes to things like this--

But she'll at least put in some coordinates and some choices in the start up screens and in the end, they're dumped into ViViD and.............

Off a cliff.

She didn't mean for this to happen.]

[SHE IMMEDIATELY REGRETS THIS DECISION and also flails wildly as she plummets towards the earth.]

Ruuuuuuuuubyyyyyyyyyy...

I'm sorrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

[But, well... it's Ruby and Weiss. As soon as Ruby sees the ground, coming up on them way, way too fast, she's immediately shifting her scythe to fire the rifle part of it at the ground, slowing her descent until she can land somewhat neatly.]

Oof--!

[And using a glyph to slow her fall and change her angle of descent assures that Weiss does not splatter against the ground either.]

Nnf-- Well that's one way to kick things off. I didn't even know ViViD would do that.

[You'd think there would be an "Are You Sure" prompt when setting spawn points over a cliff.]

This is just like being at school.

[Quite frankly. Is that a good or bad thing, we're not sure, it's just A Thing.]

But yeah me neither. I mean, I know ViViD goes weird sometimes but...that was really weird.

[Huh.]

[It's a... stroll down memory lane? Yeah.]

I'd rather a cliff than a swamp any day. And those weird voodoo dolls, ugh.

Ugh.... Yeah, this is way better. [Shrug!] Well, we're fine now, so let's go find some monsters!

[YEAHHHH.]

I don't see any more cliffs at least soooo we should be good.

Knowing ViViD? They'll load in more.

[Though she'd prefer monsters. Monsters are an okay thing to have.]

Oh well, I'm just happy to stretch my legs.

Right? Even if they're virtual trees, it's still nice to see--y'know. Trees. Plant-life. Green things.

[Cerealia's kind of rough sometimes. So off into the great beyond with them, even if no monsters have shown up. Yet.]
