I: Apartment

[So today was his birthday. William had been so preoccupied that he had forgotten about the date until Kevin had reminded him. When he woke up that morning, William found that his feelings about the day were rather complicated. Especially since his last birthday had seen a complete upheaval in one of the very foundation stones of his life.

That had been when he'd learned that Kevin wasn't who he had appeared to be. That Kevin wasn't the Kevin he'd known since childhood, but someone who had taken the original's place, like a cuckoo bird invading a nest. And there had been countless other deceptions tied into that, Kevin's being an Angel among them.

It had all worked out in the end and for the better, as their relationship was now much stronger. But the date was firmly etched into his mind, more bittersweet than something to celebrate.

Of course, William wasn't one to let himself dwell on such things and he quickly gained his bearings and decided to get prepared for the day. He couldn't go to London this year, but William was going to enjoy the day and all it brought with it, regardless of any negative associations.

Throughout the day he texts different friends, inviting them over for cake and snacks, because there's only so much he can eat on his own.]

II. Shopping District

[He's saved enough money that he can treat himself, so William's been hitting different stores all day. He's mainly thinking of buying some books and a few video games, though mostly he's been window shopping here and there.

Despite having been in the city for a while, William still finds a bit of modern technology or some alien merchandise that surprises him. And he's staring at one particular thing now, whatever it is, one eyebrow raised.]

Whatever it is, they shouldn't advertise it with such an absurd slogan.

I only mince words with the people I have to, and fortunately, there are not many people like that here.

[Sometimes his bluntness was more character flaw than not.]

William, I swear by the Goddess we truly are long lost siblings. Our attitudes are so alike it's almost painful.

[He's pretending to act in pain.]

So let's start acting like actual brothers.

[Honestly, he has notice some similarities here and there.]

So does this mean you'll be a good brother and look the other way whenever I get in trouble?

That depends. I may if you give me the right motivation.

[Aka give him money and he won't say a word.]

I do not think that shall be a challenge.

[Bribery? How exciting! Like a real politician!]

But I suppose such matters should wait until the proper time.

Mm you'll find I'm not that easy to please. So you'll get a challenge out of it.

[He'll make it extra hard on the other too.]

Though you're correct, let us save that talk for another day.

Oh, demanding huh?

[He supposed it wasn't surprising. He looked like the kind who took a mile for every inch and made sure you felt it.]

How old are you anyways? I somehow never asked.

I'm about making deals more so than demanding.

[Though he did love making things hard for others sometimes for fun, because he found it interesting.]

Oh? You're asking that now? I'm twenty-one.

[notsolomon]

[Deals huh? Well that is perfectly fine. William is all about reasonable solutions. Assuming the other party is reasonable.]

Heh, for some reason I thought you were a little older than me.

[That's a relief honestly.]

[Being reasonable is one his best traits. Though he does quirk an eyebrow at William's reply.]

Why do you say that? Do I seem older to you?

[He's not insulted and in fact curious.]

You just seemed a bit more worldly than that is all.

[Just a little though. When you know millennia old people, "worldly" takes on a different meaning.l]

Then again, I might be intoxicated enough that my opinion shouldn't be considered.

That's hilarious considering for a long time, I was never allowed to leave my home. Though we did get many travelers and even not straying far from home, I was able to do plenty.

[Bribery, debauchery, ect. You name it, he's probably done it.]

Oh that's right. You are like a priest or something. So I take it that means you grew up in an abbey or something like that?

[It was a bit hard to imagine, especially for this guy.]

Correct. I was even named the Angel of Maella Abbey by many visitors for my beautiful sermons.

[He says with a prideful expression between a very pleased grin.]

[He doesn't even know how to reconcile that in his head.]

Though I can definitely see you being good at giving sermons. You have a gift with words.

I can't help being so angelic to look at and gifted in the way of language, it's simply who I am. Sometimes I'm almost too perfect for my own good.

[He's doing this on purpose, mostly to see how William reacts to his behavior.]

['Gag me.' That is what William is thinking right now.]

You are laying it on a little thick, are you not?

[He relaxes against whatever he's sitting on.]

When you've got it, you should flaunt it. That's my philosophy.

I suppose so. Though you seem to be in a constant state of flaunting it. You must have an excess.

[That's how it worked, right?]

I'm a gift from the Goddess Herself to all of humanity. I'm only doing what would please Her most and make Her proud of what She gave to the world.

[He appears and sounds completely serious in regard to what he's saying.]

...she sure gave them something alright. It says a lot about her tastes in any case.

[A lot. Were all deities this crazy about their chosen ones? Then again, he should know form long memory and experience, that yes, yes they are.]

[playboyknight]

Is that a hint of jealousy I hear in your voice, William? [He can't help but laugh a little.] I can't help that I was chosen to save the world, it's not as if I wanted it. I only gracefully accept it because I wish to please the Goddess above.

[He's got other reasons besides that, yet he doesn't want William to know those.]

Who would be jealous? That sort of nonsense is a big hassle. Dealing with Hell and Heaven are bad enough, thank you very much.

[He just wanted to be Prime Minister, which merely required the interest of other humans.]

Oh? Have you had dealings with them? Do tell.

[He's really interested in hearing what William had to say.]

[It's not something he keeps secret, though the booze does make him feel more talkative than usual.]

My ancestor is King Solomon of Israel and he has passed onto me 72 demonic contracts and some unfortunate baggage.

[He also passed on his soul, but that wasn't necessary info.]
