[Closed] Just super-powered teenagers hanging out with other super-powered teenagers.
Who:

espersions
When: early June
Where: Shiho and Kaoru's apartment
What: The joy of food, Mario Kart (played with cheaters) and people literally popping into the room uninvited.
Rating/Warning: Too much food, too much Mario Kart and espers using their powers to ram their friends off the edge of Rainbow Road.
Kaz owed Shiho a delicious home-cooked meal for two. Shiho owed Minato...well, a lot. She refused to tell anyone but Kaoru what it was, of course, but it's clear in the way her stance softened minutely around him that she believed she owed him that, at least.
So what better way for Shiho to enjoy this sudden influx of genuinely nice people than to invite them all over to her and Kaoru's apartment? The more, the merrier, right? It all starts out innocuous enough, with chips and chocolate and Mario Kart in the living room area while they all wait for food. Except Kaz was never told that the intimate dinner for two had long become a dinner party for friends, Shiho was using her psychometry to cheat while playing (because there's no way anyone can be that good), and a certain lolicon was never even formally invited.
Oh, and any game involving espers somehow always manages to devolve into all-out war. Wait. Is that someone hanging around outside the window?!

[Kaz idly surpassed Mario when the poor guy was getting hauled up back on Rainbow Road, slotting neatly back into third place. He wasn't lying either. A victory was a victory, even if it was a pity win. Kaz learned to stop being so prideful over things like that ages ago]
And, a pity win's the best one, 'cuz you don't even have to do anything for it. It's easy, peaceful, and everyone's happy, if you're not a prideful kind of guy, I suppose.
no subject
[Unless he was trying to take over the world or something. That was the wrong kind of ambition.]
But if you really wanted to experience a pity win, I guess I could give you one? [It's not like she needs any more wins in Mario Kart when she's been consistently offing any sort of competition.]
no subject
N-No, it's fine. [He quickly recovered though, his smile returning with extra brightness, making Yoshi swerve side to side dangerously] You can't, like, offer a pity win. You're meant to do it secretly, to make the other person think they're actually good.
no subject
.....Hm. Isn't that just delusion anyway? If someone's going to be weak, isn't it better that they know so they can get stronger?
[But she does seem to be thinking about it...even as she destroys the NPC in first place. At least now Kaz has a clear shot for second right after her?]
no subject
Hmm, it depends, don't it? I mean, encouraging someone to be stronger isn't always the best thing, y'know. Some people completely go crazy with it and end up doing stupid things.
[Judging by the slight drop in his tone and expression, he was definitely speaking from experience]
no subject
But if he feels like being vague and not telling her, she won't push.]
That's why when they have their first little victory, you take them out for dinner and use that opportunity to slip laxatives into their food and remind them to be humble.
no subject
W-What? You do those kind of things, Mimi? That's scary, ruining a meal like that. [He paused suddenly, reminded of;] Eh, is that what you did to that guy you talked about before? Y'know, the big jerk who asked you on a date? Angelmon or, something like that. Angle? Ample? Apple?
[Those weren't even actual names, Kaz]
no subject
And he deserves so much worse than just that. [In fact, she's probably going to start calling him Angelmon from now on.]
no subject
Oh? What else has he done? [he paused, briefly looking hesitant, before asking;] He isn't, like, bothering you too badly, is he? Like, being a super gross creep or whatever? If he is, I'll help you out by burning all of his hair off or something. Hard to be a creepy wannabe lady-killer with no eyebrows, fufu...
no subject
[More like please let her deal with it herself because she really wanted the feeling of taking him down a peg or five.]
no subject
[Kaz seemed a little unconvinced. Not that he doubted Shiho's ability to put a gross creep in his place, since she was a very terrifying person, but he still didn't like the thought of some unknown guy orbiting around one of the few people he socialised with. Well, nothing he could do about it right now, he supposed, so best to let Shiho handle it.
(Though he did make a very private mental note that if he caught a whiff of Apple doing anything super gross or weird to Shiho, he was going to neuter him)]
If you ever need backup for a super embarrassing prank though, don't hesitate to call. I'll help.
no subject
Not that she doesn't appreciate the offer though.]
Of course. [She's not going to ask him whether or not he's just helping her because she's blackmailing him.]
As soon as I think of a super embarrassing prank, I'll ask you. [And Kaoru because she never goes anywhere without her.]
no subject
Awesome. [And with that pact sealed - the race ends. Kaz in second place, Shiho in first] Ah, there we go. Winner is you to the surprise of no one.
no subject
Hey, I said I was going to let you win the next one, didn't I? Since you want a pity win so badly.
no subject
[It was difficult to tell if he was being sarcastic or not - he was smiling a little boyishly though, so perhaps it was a friendly little dig]
But don't worry about it. I think I'm Mario Karted out. [he lowered the controller] I also need to check on the food. Got any last minute requests before I lock myself in the kitchen until dinner time?
no subject
Even if she doesn't show it most of the time.]
Then, make sure that there's pizza! Oh, and something sweet afterwards too! Like a cake. A chocolate one with at least two layers. [Being spoiled is also something she's very good at, unfortunately. Blame Iron Chef-swimsuit model-genius salaryman Minamoto.]
no subject
[Kaz never really tried making pizza before. If he craved it he normally got takeout, since he found that they did it well and it was dirt cheap too, so it didn't bother his miserly self too much. He knew the theory behind making it at least, but the practical experience... well, if he looked it up, he could follow the directions well enough, he was sure. It involved dough, right? He could work with dough]
I've never made pizza before, but I'll give it a go? [he looked a little nervous - experimenting at 3am in the kitchen was one thing, but presenting a first time attempt at a dinner party with your friends was another entirely. He never admitted it, but he was somewhat sensitive about how his cooking was received] Not making any promises about quality, and, like I'm not gonna be, uh, like, take out good, but... uh, what kind of toppings you want? Just cheese?
[Please make it a simple topping, Shiho...]
no subject
[She has so much belief in you, Kaz.]
And just cheese is too boring. I'll leave it up to you but I want meat on it, okay? Like bacon or something.
[Shiho has never made pizza before, but she's sure it can't be too hard and that hey, Minamoto could do it?]
