[OPEN] The World is a Rainbow
Who: Hikari Yagami (
givesalittlewhistle) & OPEN
When: 6/7 IC | 3/17 OOC
Where: The Gardens
What: Hikari's trying to capture to colors of the world around her...without a camera.
Rating/Warning: None
[Hikari was sitting under one of the trees, a large notebook in her lap. Her mouth was twisted in concentration as she turned her head from side to side before looking to the box of crayons at her side and choosing a new color.]
[Above, on the lowest branch, Tailmon was watching her partner with great interest. Hikari was always a quiet girl, so it was sometimes difficult for her to tell when something was bothering the young girl. All things considered, she'd walked away from the latest game in mostly good spirits. The fight hadn't been particularly enjoyable, but they'd all faced far worse--not to mention, more frightening--battles in the Digital World.]
[Not to mention, both she and Takeru had finally been reunited with their brothers.]
[Still...as if giving into the saying, Tailmon's curiosity eventually got the better of her. She lifted her head, knowing fully well that Hikari would be able to hear her from that height, and called out:]
What are you doing?
[To which, Hikari tilted her head up enough to look at her partner with...less than a smile on her face.]
I'm trying to draw the flowers, but...it's not coming out as good as I was hoping. See?
[She held up her current progress for the digimon to see.]
I think it looks great, Hikari.
...you think so?
Of course!
[Smiling faintly, Hikari returned to her work...though the look on her face gave away the fact that she still couldn't shake the notion that something was missing....]

While thoughts of the altar and the horrible parts of the city still haunt him, it didn't seem to matter right now! Which was why he took a talk around the gardens to get some fresh air. In the middle of doing so, that's when he spot a familiar person]
Hikari-chan? What are you doing over there?
no subject
[As one of the three individuals now residing in Cerealia that Tailmon trusted most around Hikari, the boy was hardly given a second glance before Tailmon settled back into her spot on the branch, ringed tail swinging over the edge. Hikari's greeting, on the other hand, was slightly more enthusiastic, lifting her head to offer him a bright smile, despite her current troubles.]
I'm drawing a picture of the garden.
...well, I'm trying to.
no subject
With Takeru walking closer toward Hikari, he just tilted his head before looking back out at the garden.]
Then can I see your picture?
[Although, he had a feeling that despite her trying, he was sure that it was going to turn out great! When he sat next to her, he might be attempting to take a quick peek. You can't blame him, he was curious!]
no subject
I've...been working on it for maybe an hour.
[It wasn't terrible, to be fair. She wasn't so much embarassed by her skill as she was wanting a more realistic version of what she saw than crayons could offer.]
no subject
I think it looks really good! It's better than what I can do and it looks like you worked really hard on it!
It looks just like the gardens!
[Really, it did!]

Strolling by, she can't help but notice a little girl...and what she could only guess was a Digimon, since it was talking. Well, no reason to stay away!]
What're you drawing?
[Seems the obvious question!]
no subject
Flowers.
[She looked back down at the paper in her lap.]
I wanted a picture of the gardens here to hang up in our room, but...I don't have a camera yet. So I tried to draw it as best as I could.
[With the obvious question out of the way, she looked up again, this time focusing her attention a little more on the pretty lady's companions.]
Are they friends of yours?
no subject
They are. Well, the birds. [Her eyebrow lifts as she looks at the bear.] The robot...is more a pest than a friend.
no subject
[A single, feline eyebrow rose.]
So I see.
Tailmon! [The girl turned to her partner and chastised her gently.] That's not very nice.

Wow... I wonder what kind of super talented artist drew that!
[Agumon happens to be in the vicinity, too, but for now he's content to just look through and smell some of the flowers.]
no subject
You really think it's good?
[She wasn't too surprised he would shower her with compliments, no matter what her picture looked like.]
no subject
And Taichi just glances right at her, with a supportive smile and a nod.]
Mm! I know a good drawing when I see one. I think we should hang it up on the fridge later!
no subject
[Though she was flattered at the suggestion. For a fleeting moment, she even thought of their mother, who might have made the same suggestion. But that would have brought about thoughts of home--home home, back in the Real World, which neither of them had seen for even longer a time than the Digital World--and she didn't want to ruin the moment with sad thoughts.]
[She'd made a promise, after all.]
Besides...there's so much it's missing! The colors of some of the flowers aren't right. And I don't know how to draw the way the light looks on the leaves.
[It was less of a put down on her skills this time, and more...she was staring at those flowers in a certain way. Seeing every last detail.]

Thank you.
[A smile in appreciation. Maybe her drawing really was better than she thought.]
I'm Hikari. Yagami Hikari. [Introducing herself with a polite nod of the head. She hardly knew everyone in the city, but she also knew she hadn't seen this girl around until now.] Did you just come here in the last game?
no subject
[She's not really that good at actually going to school]
no subject
No. I guess not.
We must be in different classes at school.
[Because she just assumed that all the kids went to school at some point. And since Molly was older, even though there weren't many kids in all, it would make sense for her to be in more advanced lessons.]

[Meanwhile, Hikari looked up again. With the upside-down view, it took her a few seconds to recognize Jack.]
How come you're in the tree?
no subject
I have a good view of the park from here. Not the kind of kid to climb trees, Hikari?
no subject
[In case there was any doubt. She just...never had much of a reason to. Nor did she seem overly enthusiastic about the idea of joining them up there.]

Thank you.
[For a few seconds, it seemed like that was all she would say. She blinked again, shooting a quick look Tailmon's way. The little digimon seemed to be on alert, but remained in her branch. Not sensing any immediate threat.]
Do you...like coloring too?
no subject
Yup! Granny likes doing lots of things!

[Not many people she knew deliberately referred to themselves in the third person during a first meeting.]
