[The cultural festival at the school has been in full-on planning mode for a few weeks. Rise is no exception to the planning and included in the flyers that have gone up is a notice printed on bright pink paper and bold lettering for a very special event.

The booth itself has been set up with a small cluster of tables to accommodate for the amount of people who have been signed up and even for a few last-minute sign-ups. The tables themselves have been decorated with special candles and a tray containing two bowls, two spoons, and a a tray with all the ingredients needed for an ice cream sundae.

At the front of the booth is a collection of heart-shaped name tags with all of the names of each individual whose signed up, along with a number attached. Rise will smile at each person, handing both the name tag and a small envelope to them with instructions not to open it until she says so.

It’s only when everyone has arrived and is crowded inside the booth that she pulls out a megaphone (and really, who gave her that?) and she turns it on.]

Hello ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the Cerealia School Speed-Matching event! Meeting people can be really hard here, but don’t worry, we’re making it easy! You’ll see that the tables all have numbers assigned to them. On my count, open your envelopes and see who you’re starting with. When the bell rings, switch partners! Seems pretty simple, huh?

[Nobody gets to get a say in this apparently, but they may see one Yu Narukami who’s sitting on the table behind Rise just watching everyone casual as can be. Why is he wearing glasses? Who knows.]

Okie dokie! Let’s get this show on the road! On your mark…get set…open!

[Hope you’re ready, colonists. Inside each envelope is a starter number for the first match, and also a list of starter questions for asking people about themselves. Some people have lists corresponding with the speed dating route, while others are for the “friends only” route. But wait…what’s that? Some of those lists are crosswired? Your character would try to mingle with everybody and flirt anyway? Well hey. At least people will be talking and mingling.

Oh, and don’t mind the people who may wander in and out of the event. Rise will try to moderator the event to her best ability but hey, she’s pretty social herself. Some people are bound to slip in and out under her watch. Have fun! And remember, beware of the bell! (Or Rise announcing "SWITCH" in a loud voice via megaphone, same thing.)]

[ It's a quiet voice from Chie, perhaps more so than either is used to hearing from the tomboy, especially given that she's hiding her face. Maybe it was Rise's, maybe it was Yu's, or maybe someone else altogether, but Chie's arrived in a cute dress that isn't her usual outfit of a school uniform skirt and black spandex, leaving her feeling awkward. Why would anyone want to see her like this after all? She is pretty sure looks awkward in it!

Except, she does know she wants to be more girly sometimes, she's already decided she would, after Yu left for the city. She wanted to change like she saw everyone else changing around her, which is why she's dressed up at all like this and not hiding in her new apartment.

Be a new person. It's the perfect chance right? Then why does it feel so awkward with her bare legs like this?! ]

[There were other things that truly sucked about this place, but having new people coming and going did make things tolerable. Jinga looked down at the butterfly and then smiled a little as he wiggled his fingers close enough for it to go from clinging to the glass to his fingers.]

You can say that. It's one of my wife's little messengers, somehow clinging to me in this place even though usually the magics do not last this long.

No, she isn't. [And it made him mad that she hadn't appeared, that the stupid alter below had her Priest brush broken across it like some kind of reminder and he clamped down at that anger. It would do him no good to get angry in the middle of this sort of fun.]

It is nice to be reminded of my moon, though not as nice as if she was here sharing this with me.

[ He's going to try some, and be absolutely amazed when it turns out to be one of those chocolate syrups that immediately harden into an outer shell. Desserts are amazing... ]

[ Being that he had no idea that he was signed up for this, Atsushi feels completely underdressed for the occasion: in his usual dress-shirt, tie, and suspender-pants combo, he almost feels apologetic when he's corralled to this next table with a staggeringly pretty girl sitting behind it.

He settles down, trying not to let his posture get too rigid. ]

Eh? Y, yeah— I'm sure it'll be okay, too...?

[ 'Not very reckless', he thinks that that's a perfectly good thing not to be— but that last bit prompts a bit of a curious tilt of the head. ]

[ If she considers that reckless, it must have been a pretty bad neighborhood, huh. ]

[ Atsushi frowns down at the card, despite the fact that he's the one that chose it. ]

[she shakes her head. honestly, she wishes it had been that simple a trip.]

Quite the opposite, actually. That is, my home was located in the safest part of my country. I left it because I had to travel to places that were much more dangerous, and I unfortunately couldn't bring a companion.

[she's still not certain it counts as reckless, given that she had no other option, but it's the best example she has.]

[ It's amazing that she sounds so matter-of-fact about this, because Atsushi is of the opinion that this sort of thing would warrant a designation that's a little more than just 'reckless'. ]

Yep! I think red is usually strawberry or cherry ... Even raspberry - it depends on who makes them I suppose. Orange is self explanatory, is it... Yellow is mango, green is green apple, purple is grape, blue is blueberry, and so on.

[ he recited most of the flavours from the top of his head. he really isn't a gummy kind of person though. ]

I never seen them in this shape though... [ he picked up a red-coloured gummy too, similar to the one Kashuu picked up. ] It's pretty cute, isn't it...?

[ For a moment, it looks like Atsushi wants to object— "not as impressive as it seems?!"— but she's moved on so smoothly, he can't get another word in.

Maybe it's something she doesn't want to talk about... in that case, better to move on. ]

Huh? Oh, my prized possession... I think it'd have to be the clothes I came here in, actually. [ He scratches his cheek, expression set in a "yeah, I know it's weird" half-smile. ] The people who found me gave them to me, so— I've been trying to keep them in good condition, ever since I've gotten here.

[ It doesn't really offend Giorno that he gets turned down though he is curious as to what the qualifying answers were—perhaps they're not as compatible in terms of interests? That would make logical sense.

Still seeing that he's given another opportunity, Giorno sees no harm in accepting. This was a speed-friending thing. He should at least try to make friends? (Now if they wanted to friend him back that was entirely different.) ]

[ Shion nods in agreement. ] Ahh, I haven't tried takoyaki yet. There seems to be so much food from many different places by the looks of it.

[ festivals for many days does put the grand in grand festival. Shion's never really been to a festival, so his experiences were limited - which brings up his next question. ]

Huhh... You must be from a very big city if you had large festivals. Is that right? [ Just a guess but... ]

[ Well, now he feels stupid. He fiddles with the long part of his bangs a bit nervously, but at the very least, he can feel good in knowing that Hiro doesn't really intend to Rumble or something equally as dangerous. Accordingly, he relaxes somewhat. ]

I actually haven't seen a lot of movies, so you might have to tell me which ones I should see...?

[He had forgotten about the "spectators". He has to suppress a shudder at the thought of people watching as they were forced to fight - ... and it doesn't exactly bring back any pleasant memories.

However, he's going to do what he does best when it comes to reminders of less-than-savory clusterfucks - suppress it!
