let's talk about narhwals, or not.
Who: Mitsuru Kirijo (
invoker) & Abe no Sousei (
deontology)
When: 10th December OOC
Where: A fancy looking tea place in the Pleasure District
What: Mitsuru and Sousei have tea and discuss what the hell is going on
Rating/Warning: Nothing apart from the awkwardness of having busty waitresses serve your tea.
[ Mitsuru was really annoyed over the new addition into her house. It was some sort of joke, it must be, she thought. It seemed rather cruel, as going to the bathroom was one of the most vulnerable moments that anyone could find themselves in. And judging from all the activity on the network, she wasn't the only one who had taken this badly.
In true Mitsuru fashion, she had expertly executed her bathroom door through the use of her Persona. Not like anyone was to know, for she was going to avoid mentioning it to anyone unless it was brought up.
She had contacted Sousei because she knew that he was one person who understood these sorts of stresses better than any one else. She was frustrated with the amount of people panicking and running around like headless chickens - and Julius Vincere's well meaning post didn't seem to help matters.
The tea room she had chosen was one she remembered from her unfortunate encounter in the Pleasure District during the cold snap that seized Cerealia. What struck her about it was that at first, it seemed to resemble a traditional tea house. Unlike the other tea houses in the area though, this one did not seem to offer alcohol nor any "extra services" but it seemed like the place Iori would enjoy - all the servers seemed to be extraordinarily endowed in the chest area and wore kimono that was cut way too high and she was also pretty sure that knee high socks were not part of traditional kimono wear.
Regardless, it seemed like a decent place to have tea with someone. Not to mention that the semi-traditional atmosphere seemed to put her at ease.
Mitsuru was already seated in one of the private rooms that reassuringly, had a low table, embroidered cushions to sit on and the smell of wood. The waitresses seemed to behaving in line with what she was used to, with the sole exception that she seemed to get a good view of cleavage every time one of them bow. Which was frequently, in this setting. ]

So of course he agreed to meet with her, and have tea. She sounded rather harried and frazzled herself (as calm as she was otherwise) and so Sousei figured the meeting could hardly hurt things. Besides, the sight of the door that Tenka had knocked down is irritating to him, so being out of the house can only be a good thing.
But...he'd thought she had better taste in places than this.
Don't get him wrong, the decor is pleasantly reminiscent of home, and the traditional seating is highly appreciated. But it is in the red light district....... Still, when he joins her, settling himself easily across from her, he really doesn't seem to have noticed how little their clothing covers them up.
Rather--]
Their kimono are not in a familiar style to me.
[Maybe it's an alternate world thing???
No, Sousei, you're just clueless and oblivious to their true purposes because you don't notice things like that.]

Ah, in the time I come from, the sense of fashion is different and it became acceptable to modify traditional dress to make it more appealing to young people.
[ She's going to leave it at that, because it is true. Traditional textile making was becoming a rare art and all of Mitsuru's traditional wear was custom made for that reason - everything else just didn't seem fitting for someone who was part of the Kirijo Group. That being said, most of her wear was decidedly western and seeing someone in traditional garb was becoming the rare occurrence. ]
I apologise for the impropriety of the location, but this place seemed to be the most familiar to me as being from my and in some sense, your world.
[ Another polite bow. ]

You're safe.
Still, he nods simply in response, understanding. Japan was constantly changing even in his time; he is not at all surprised that that's the case in the future as well.]
I appreciate your thoughtfulness. [Mitsuru's a modern lady, but she picked a place more traditional, even if in the red light district...which is what he's assuming she's referring to with the impropriety of it, even as he arches an eyebrow.]
Impropriety? Because of its location, you mean?
[........sousei how do you even live]

[ Well if he hasn't noticed the amount of boobs and buttocks on display, Mitsuru will make no comments about it herself. Instead, she will focus on the fact that she invited him here for a cup of tea and some sweets. There didn't seem to be people of a certain temperament that matched hers around and while that is a good thing, sometimes it felt lonely to not have many people understand the woes of not organising things properly. ]
I hope I was not too forward with my invitation. With the chaos regarding Rainbow Narwhal Melee, it seemed prudent to reach out to someone of a cooler temperament.
[ The door slides open, and a waitress appeared with a teapot, teacup and dango for them both. After a mostly non-eventful pouring of the tea (does the steam not feel uncomfortable against her bare chest?), Mitsuru sits just that tiny bit straighter as she waited for the water to cool just a tiny bit. ]

He's patient and quiet as she speaks, and when he responds, it's simply.]
There is no harm in discussing these experiences with others for a wider viewpoint. [honestly, he's sick of talking to morons.]
What have been your experiences with it?

[ She totally destroyed her door. ]
no subject
So. She broke down the door.]
Speak frankly. [Or stop wasting time with avoiding the point of the matter which is that she totally destroyed her door.
It's said mildly enough, at least, even as he finally reaches for his tea.]
A sudden reaction to being trapped is understandable. [Even if it wouldn't have been his reaction, but Sousei is. Weird.]
Regardless, someone in my household also broke down the door. When I inquired about recompense, I was sent a self-repair kit.
[Obviously, he's not really amused.]

[ She's pretty sure she's misremembering that, but it was a western proverb anyway - or so she believes. Mitsuru takes a small sip of her tea. ]
How cold. Did they not even send a robot over?
no subject
They did not. [a pause, considering, and he adds--] Not that I would have wanted one in my home regardless.
[He came in when they were falsely accused of crimes and the robots were trying to kill him, after all.... such things leave lasting impressions.]
Regardless, it is an important reminder that while we use the facilities provided to us, they are ultimately under the control of these [incompetent, stupid, time-wasting] people.
no subject
[ Mitsuru corrects herself at that moment. ]
Or rather the "code" of them, it seems like they know every aspect of how we lived our lives, and even our secrets we rather did not expose to the world. It's rather disturbing that these are mere play things for someone's reconstruction.
[ But enough about that, she pulls out her CereVice and places it on the table. ]
Even something as benign as this, I don't quite trust it myself.
no subject
Though he doesn't like it either.
He frowns slightly at the device, nodding shortly.]
They did give them to us, after all. They are an easy way to monitor us, as well as a way to dispense the...spam mail of before.
[jerks.]
Meeting in person is the more sensible option.

But I thought this more of an opportunity for us to know each other better, for I realise that despite everything, I know very little about you or your circumstances. This may seem like prying, but I think very highly of you and Tenka-san.
[ This is how you make friends right?? Minami are you proud yet? ]

As for Sousei himself... he is used to people admiring some things about him, at least (the fanclub was a good indicator), even if it's nonetheless still a bit of a surprise.]
... I see. If you have questions, I am likely willing to answer some of them, though there will be others I cannot answer. [Because there are a lot of secrets he still has to keep.
...And admittedly, he's a little curious about Mitsuru as well.]
Will you return the favor?
