[Semi-closed] A warm house party
Who: Minato Arisato
moribound, Mitsuru Kirijo
cestmagnifique, Kazuya Minegishi
belfire and friends
When: 6/20 IC, after Mosley's post
Where: Minato, Kaz's and Mitsuru's new apartment
What: Minato's invited Mitsuru to move in with him and Kaz, and he's inviting their friends for a house-warming party. Bets are off as to whether this will end well.
Rating/Warning: Nothing should apply
[Loneliness is a feeling that's not so easy to kick when one's been alone for most of his life, and it's with this in mind that Minato's invited Mitsuru to move in with him and Kaz after Shinjiro's vanished for the second time. Days have passed and the apartment still seems mellow, when he recalls how he had told Shiho that he might want to throw a small party someday.
So, why not?
He's invited all of their close friends after consulting with Kaz and Mitsuru, giving them a short call to let them know where to go and what to expect- food and games were a given, naturally and yes, he did remember to invite the ones who would show up on their own too.
He'll be waiting by the door to welcome them, a small but warm smile adorning his face as he shows everyone in.]
Hey. Thanks for coming...make yourselves at home. [There's plenty of food and games to play, and they're most certainly not going to discuss things like robots, pushing the buttons of robots and messing around with robots. Right?]

But he's going to make sure to greet everyone, including those he knows, because it's always useful to meet new people. Even if friendship doesn't develop, they could prove useful in other ways. Not that his intentions in being here are that mercenary.
Still he's being polite and cheerful, his usual bluntness not rearing it's ugly head. So far.]
Hello, thank you for having me.
[Yes, this is nice. So far.]
[ooc: feel free to throw your own prompt at me guys.]

William! You came! [It was Kaz, having practically launched himself out of the kitchen when seeing William pass by - sporting, of all things, a bright pink Hello Kitty apron] And I see you brought food too. Awesome. C'mere, let's go in here, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon~
[Sorry William, looks like Kaz is adamant in dragging you into the kitchen]
no subject
[He pauses for a moment at the hello kitty apron, because the hell dude? But he'll let himself be dragged into the kitchen.]
Have you been cooking all day?
no subject
[The kitchen did look like a warzone at the moment. Various used mixing bowls tossed into the sink, splatters of cookie dough and the like on the counter - something was also currently baking in the oven, judging by the smell]
I offered to, uh, cater for the housewarming party. [Kaz started to smooth down the creases of his apron, looking a little sheepish] It means I get to hide here for most of it 'cept when I gotta do food refills. Speaking of, want a cookie? I got a plate over here.

Is this the right place?! I am here for the party! It is a pleasure to be here with my new friend!
Master Lee-kun! Is this the destination?
no subject
Mitsuru moves to greet them properly. ]
...Did you walk all the way here like that?
no subject
Yes, Master Lee-kun.
[The newly born robot then hops down from Lee's feet, and Lee hops back into standing upright, and he does some stretches as he talks.]
Mitsuru-san, this is Metal-kun, my new robot friend!

Your new friend, huh. What, you didn't like your old friends or something?
no subject
Ah! No, Shiho-san, I did not mean for it to sound like that! [Metal hops down to the ground, and Lee flips back into a standing position as he speaks to Shiho.] My old friends, such as yourself, are still treasured beyond measure! And, so are new friends! You are all precious to me!
[He sniffles, while the robot just stands there awkwardly.]
Do you require assistance, Master Lee-kun?

[ Waves lightly at both Lee and his robot, utterly unfazed by their entrance. ]
Need a hand?
[ ... is he making a pun or is that a genuine offer? Mysteries. ]
no subject
[Even if he... did not realize he was gone until he heard of his return.
Lee shakes his head, flinging tears everywhere.]
Thank you so much for this kind offer! But, we can handle this ourselves, with our own power! Metal-kun? It is time to disembark!
Yes, sir!
[Metal hops down to the ground, and Lee hops back onto his feet.]

that doesn't mean that he's about to decline, though. even if it wasn't expected, the thought is an honour - the least he can do is make an appearance. if anything, maybe this can help take his mind off of the worries of a potential robot takeover.
he won't be playing any games, but he does have a simply, yet elegantly wrapped housewarming gift in hand, and a chipper companion floating by his side. ]
I appreciate the invitation.
(( ooc: ota, of course! come at me. ))
no subject
So Mitsuru is glad to see that he's arrived, as well as his companion. She even offers a cordial smile in greeting. ]
I'm glad you could make it. [ She gives a slight bow of her head before turning to Beldum. ] You as well. It's been a while, hasn't it?
no subject
It wouldn't be proper to refuse something so thoughtful. [ and beldum seems to share the sentiment, seeing as it chirps happily and sidles up to her in greeting. ] And Beldum insisted on coming along; it wanted to make sure that you were doing well.

So are you enjoying the party so far, you and your friend?
[Was it flying by magnets or something like that?]
no subject
We are. It's been quite some time since I've been to a housewarming - the intimacy of it is nice.
[ he's never been one for big parties, and the fact that mitsuru invited him is nice in itself. ]

ota ofc
I'm afraid I don't quite understand the purpose of this..."housewarming" party. Is the temperature in this habitation not warm enough?
[ Humans had so many customs and phrases that weren't very descriptive; sometimes it took him a little bit to remember what they meant, or he overlooked it. ]

[Here's Kaz with a plate of freshly baked cookies, clad in his favourite cooking apron (Hello Kitty, of course), squeezing past the alien to put it down on the 'buffet table']
There we go. Also... [he brushed his hands off on his apron, turning to the alien with a wry smile] Housewarming isn't a literal term, you weirdo. It's "warm" as in, uh, "lived in"? So, y'know, more people coming here to greet you into your new home, makes it feel homely. If that makes sense.
no subject
Ah, I understand now. The warmth of guests serves to instill an atmosphere of comfort for the residents who remain.
[ ...And now his next question. ]
Was I to bring a gift for this occasion in order to do that?
[ Because then he failed miserably. ]

OTA!
It wasn't because he was being a wallflower (though that was part of it), but mostly because when this whole party business had been brought up, Kaz had offered to make stuff for it. Odd, since he made it no secret that he disliked doing large scale operations for loads of people, since it made his hobby feel more like a job which sucked the enjoyment out of it, but it would also mean Kaz would have the means to flit in and out of his own housewarming party without looking like an anti-social weirdo in front of Minny and Mitzy's friends.
So, party goers, you're likely to bump into him if you enter the kitchen for a drink refill - or just plain hunting for extra food. Kaz will be there, in his bright pink Hello Kitty apron, baking away in his own little world. Otherwise, you might glimpse him darting out of the kitchen with a fresh batch to replace any empty plates in the living room.
For those he knows, he'll swing by and greet you hello - and probably pat you down for any housewarming gifts in the form of food. For those he doesn't, well, he'll still pat you down for food, but just in a more reserved manner. Just try not to get underfoot! It'd be a disaster if he tripped up and spilt his hardwork everywhere...]
no subject
What are you doing in here all by yourself, you lonely pity-win-solicitor?
[Her housewarming gift was a cute selection of cookies which she'd already dropped off a while ago.]
no subject
E-Eh...? That's a rude thing to call someone, Mimi. [he shut the fridge door, turning to face the esper completely, hands on his hips] And I'm managing the kitchen! Someone has to with a house party on this scale. Plus, er... [he paused - then admitted;] I don't know, like, half of these people. They're Minny or Mitzy's friends, and, well, one-on-one, I'm fine, but when it's a large group...
[In short, he's nervous around large groups of strangers]

Alright then. Let's see what kind of games we've got here...
[His housewarming (giftwrapped boxed candy) gifts (gift wrapped bunny carving) are on the table where the others gifts might have been. Regardless if you want to play a game or just strike up some regular conversation, Hiro isn't shy to accept one or both.]
no subject
[ Coming over to watch the setup. When did you even get here, Hiro Plus? Yu could swear he didn't see this guy come in... hm. Ah well. He's mildly interested, though he's not that great at video games himself. Yosuke was always the gamer of the two of them. ]
Do you play a lot?
no subject
["Used to." If he were back in his world, he wouldn't have the luxury anymore to physically play games with his friends. But he's smiling up at Yu as he does pick up an interesting game... Street Fighter V!]
Up for a round or two? A party ain't a party till someone gets owned in a video game.
