[ This is the greeting given by the birthday girl. Ai's face is aglow with cheerfulness that couldn't be beat as she welcomes guests inside the Sanctuary where some nice music is playing. It's the most convenient place to set up a small party after all and there's even a few things to do for fun if one isn't sticking around just for congratulatory birthday greetings:

A) FOOD

Where there is Ai Thao, there is food. Lots of it. Starring a peach birthday cake made by the Man, the Legend, Chef Archer. Aside from those, there are some Vietnamese spring rolls, roasted meat, some healthy salads, and colorful cookies and drinks! (Hey, did someone bring hard cider to this party...???)

Ai might even collect your plates and clean up after you isn't she nice? Oh, that's not Ai, it's a robot who's taken on the same skin tone as her owner... Creepy. Ah well, at least it's being helpful although it might say every once and a while, "Thank you for coming to my birthday party!"

B) Piñatas

How cute, there's a few of these cute piñatas hanging around in the ceiling. When you try to bat one down for the sweet candy innards though, they are just out of your reach. Ai Thao (real one, not the similar looking skin robot) giggles because she's passing by you. Ah, she's the culprit. Those guys can't move on their own after all.

"Sorry, sorry! I couldn't help it."

Oh, so that's all... Actually hey wait, some of those piñatas ARE trying to run away?! Try to catch one, but these little bastards are pretty fast for cardboard full of candy.

C) KARAOKE

There is a TV screen, mics, a karaoke box and an endless selection of pop music in all languages. All of them. Try to belt out those tunes, serenade your loved one, get the highest score, no one's going home a winner anyways.

(Ai's robot is sitting at the machine and taking the mic, humming in a voice that sounds too similar for comfort...)

D) Late Evening

Let's settle down. Maybe chat and catch up with other people. It's a good a time as any right? The lights are low, the cake's been served, there's hot tea (and booze still???) and there's a lovely lamp projecting stars onto the walls. What a nice mood!

(It might make your robots, should they come to the party look rather eerie though, especially since they developed that layer of skin.)

[ Hiro had asked to try and make the gift embarrassing, and while he does have one embarrassing gift in the bag he holds out for Ai, there's also a cute hoodie similar to the one from when he first met her on Lee's post. There's also a bunch of puddings that will start to jump if she tries to grab one and an embarrassing hat. Once she pulls it out he'll say: ] You have to wear that today.

[ Hiro he doesn't know as well, so his bag is smaller (though definitely contains the same hat as Ai's but in blue) but there is also a weird salt and pepper set. If Hiro asks, he'll just smile and shrug...

Where the hell has he been shopping anyway???? ]

[ He hasn't actually seen Piñatas before so this is a whole new thing. When one goes floating past he knows who is probably responsible, but that also means he's more than willing to try and drag it back. His eyes flash and the piñata goes flying towards the wall. If anyone is actually lucky, maybe it'll explode candy everywhere, or maybe Ai will just yell at him. ]

Maybe it needs some flying lessons.

[ It's not really that late when everyone seems to gather in one place. Personally, he's eaten quite a bit but has been wary of touching the drink until now. Though there is one question that springs to mind. ]

Did anyone plan any games?

[Ai receives Merlin's gifts gratefully and happily. Heck, she's been pretty happy with how many people are there so far, she'd never thought she'd have an unusual birthday such as this, where her guests are people from different worlds. But hey, it worked out!]

Merlin, thank you for the gifts! I really like them and... AHHH!!!

[OH NO, a piñata exploded and her eyes flash in a panic. She accidentally dropped her birthday hat from him, but another piñata comes by wearing the cake hat for itself. And the candy around her is frozen in midair, thanks to her.]

T-That gave me a fright!

[ Well no one expects guests from other worlds, usually! As CERES has given them an opportunity most wouldn't dream of, it does make up for the bad things that happen here--at least a little. ]

Hopefully it's your size, I wasn't really sure-- [ It isn't as if he knows her measurements??? that'd be weird ] --but the receipt is in there so you can exchange it if needed.

[ He looks towards where he's made the piñata has exploded, lips pressing together as his eyebrows raise a bit. ]

Well... at least we can get some of the candy now, right?

[ He even reaches up for a nice chocolate bar. Thanks for saving it from a drop, Ai!! ]

A warning would have been appreciated.

[But she'll let him have the candy while the piñata wearing the birthday hat dances around him.]

But, then again, I'm not opposed to good surprises.

[ His head tilts as his mouth spreads into a wider smile. ]

So hopefully this was more of a good surprise? You should take some too, you know. It is your birthday.

[Ai pumps one fist up in the air determinedly.]

Yes! I'm going to have all the fun possible!

[ And as he promised Hiro (as the hat clearly wasn't embarrassing enough) he reaches up to pinch only one of her cheeks. ]

Well you're certainly determined.

[EEP!! She reaches up to cover up her pinched cheek, looking up at Merlin fretfully.]

Eh? EH?! Did I do something wrong?!

[She's never been pinched on the cheek before... except by Lien who does it to annoy her or when she's perceived a wrongdoing from Ai... Best... twin...]

[ He blinks at her for that. ]

What? Why would you have done something wrong? [ What a crazy lady. And sorry, Hiro but: ]

Hiro told me to do it because it would be embarrassing. Apparently.

[She relents and puts her hands on her hips.]

[ He rubs at the spot gingerly. ]

Whoever said I was underestimating you?!

You can never be too sure! It's good if I'm able to keep people on their toes sometimes.

[ He gives her a Very Judgemental look. ]

Oh hey! It's just what I've always wanted!

[Hiro doesn't exactly feel insulted over the gifts, but he will be giving him some sass for it. Quite frankly, he could appreciate a good humored gift so he wasn't exactly angry. If anything, he would've been more pissed off over Merlin giving Ai a half-assed gift.]

Mini toilets for the go. [A beat.] In all seriousness... What gag shop did you pick these out of, dude?

[ Well... At least he's going over it now. Ai is the roommate of his girlfriend so what kind of idiot do you take him for? Of course he'd try harder for her. Hiro on the hand... He just tries to hold back a laugh and offers: ]

They're salt and pepper shakers actually. [ Though he finally lets that laugh out after. ] Honestly? I can't even remember. I saw the hats in the window and went for it. I had no idea what to get, sorry.

Though I think we should expose you to more joke shops. Trust me, I pulled this really funny gag on my teacher one time. Though I got detention for a day in return. [Hiro "Troublemaker" Kageyama at your service, ladies and gents.]

[ Look he only met Hiro like a few days ago and only spoke to him once, which is why he just looks at him like he's asking for Too Much. Apparently. ]

Usually I don't need a joke shop for things like this though. [ He gives a shrug. ] I just wanted to find something weird for you both to wear, so ... happy birthday hats it is.

[ Besides, Ai's he bought her things he knew she liked, and when it came to Rapunzel's birthday he made her a chair. Only Hiro got the short end of the stick sorry to say!!! ]

[Well, he's mostly chill with it. At the very least, he could show them off to Saiduq as he loved cooking.]

Relax, relax. It's not like I'm throwing up the pitchforks for a witch hunt or anything. [It was all in good fun.] When it's your birthday, I'll get you something awesome in return.

[Like a whoopie cushion in a chair. Probably.]

[ Well that's something. Don't worry, one day if he stops hurting his homie Ai and they get to know each other more he'll get him better presents!

Though speaking of... That isn't funny to joke about. Merlin's face shows just how uncomfortable that makes him. ] ...Please don't even joke about that.

And really you don't have to. I doubt I'll do anything like this... [ He indicates to the room and cakes and piñatas. ]

[Ah, Hiro's sense of humor was very specialized on all ends of the scale, but... Hm. After going through two apocalypses, it's probably gotten a tad darker as of late.]

I'll admit that the piñatas miiiiight have been a bit much. But hey, Ai's having fun with moving them around.

[ He gives him a slight shrug, not explaining a thing but... no. He just arrived here after thwarting a Witchfinder after they tried to take his not!dad from him. So ... bad timing, Hiro. ]

Nah, they're definitely fun. Plus, more sweets for everyone, right?
