//event009.EXE Always Believe in the Heart of the Cards Except When They Tell You to Kill People Welcome to CERES Research Tower’s latest event! For all you new folk queuing outside of the conference room where you were just made to sit through a lovely power point presentation, you will be asked to stay a bit longer and test out some games in their Game Testing Center. It’s a giant space located in the basement level filled to the brim with cubicles for everyone to sit in and enjoy their newest array of pop-up games. The games themselves will be in holo(gm) form and will feature suggestions from CEO’s post, including a simplified, 8-bit version of Tetris, Baseball, Soda Smash, etc. Characters can control the game through moving their fingers and tapping them against the holo(gm) screens. Surrounding the cubicles will be tables of food and more food for characters to partake in. It’s all safe this time. No mind-altering candy corn or gut-exploding Knight Burgers. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the party. For those who have been in Cerealia for a while, they should have received an invitation to the event and an offer of 1,000 credits just for participating. So come on down and bring a friend or ten! Meanwhile, CEO has a small welcome for everyone- “Good Morning and thank you all for coming! We have been expecting you. //SCENARIOS.EXE PHASE I [ xxxx ] Music lightly wafts from the speakers as the showroom opens. Julius Vincere, CERES’ CEO, delivers the opening announcement before leaving the room. He’ll be watching through all the video cameras placed around the room, so be on your best behavior! You will be guided to one of the many cubicles where you will sit and wait for a screen to pop up with a game. Once that game is defeated, another will pop up and another and another until your character gets hungry/has to pee/is so done with this shit. PHASE II [ xxxx ] Among the game rotations is a simple 8-bit fortune telling game starring Aria, the fortune teller. Come be enchanted by her mysterious wiles as she reads your future. She will do some 8-bit arm motions before summoning a ring of cards that will float around her. Characters will be encouraged to pick a card -any card. Once one has been selected, it will turn around slowly and unveil a card from the major arcana. Aria will then give your character their fortune, and that will be that. End of game. Onto the next! PHASE III [ xxxx ] You’ve left the testing center, and the evening has passed. As you wake up to perform your normal daily tasks, a niggling urge emerges at the back of your mind. It’s faint at first, just a whisper of a suggestion that pokes at your brain like a mosquito bite. However, that bite starts to grow bigger and become infectious. As the day wears on, you find that one little suggestion escalating. The next day is even worse. It starts to dominate your every thought, making you carry out actions you never thought yourself capable of. Who is this person in the mirror? Who have you become? PHASE IV [ xxxx ] By day three, the impulse is now a full-blown addiction. It’s set into your psyche completely. You’ve become something else entirely –the embodiment of the card. You will be acting out everything without anymore resistance, and it won’t stop until the clock strikes midnight. That’s when you’ll reel back to your senses, and when it’ll all have felt like the worst dream ever. Or a nightmare really. BONUS [ whyo'clock ] Among all the games present, there is also an 8-bit version of CERESLearn. Yes, you remember the magical game that won your hearts over not too long ago. It will come complete with the same rules. You choose a subject, you choose an 8-bit teacher among the three (Astor), (Hilda), or (UN-Zippy), and you watch them as they try to erotically teach you what you want to learn. Is that an 8-bit boob or her arm? Who knows? But beware… as you may remember, these teachers house a very terrible secret. They will transform into an 8-bit giant bug that will chase around your protag as you guide them to run away with your finger, but you can also flick the bug on the holo(gm) screen to send them away for good. Those who figure out that little cheat code will immediately receive a special real-time shoulder rub as a reward from a robot that looks eerily like a carbon copy of their teacher of choice. [ Remember to apply proper warnings on threads with trigger-y or inappropriate material and do let a mod know if your thread careens off into maiming or canoodling so we can lock the log. ]

Blood and head wound in the Phase IV.

Phase I

[With the offer of money Lily couldn't help but to jump at the invitation. Not to mention it also meant there could be lots of chocolates or candies right? At least she hoped for that.

Playing a game for a little she keeps tapping the screen before she throws her hands up in frustration.]

Stop dying you damn thing!

[The words flow out as she stands up from her chair and stomps her foot huffing. Looking at anyone walking by she points to the screen.]

Why does it keep dying?!

[Best way to meet new people for Lily.]


Phase II

[Mainly out of curiosity Lily went in to have her fortune read. The lady seemed...strangely familiar but she was pretty. She has her full attention that is until the ring appears and it scares Lily. Letting out a small yelp she watches as the cards appear and then her own is there.

The picture and name is shown and said as Temperance.

Judging the card Lily quirks a brow before she hears her fortune and just looks more confused.]

'You can make your own happiness.'? [She repeats the words under her breath as she leaves the room, accidentally bumping into someone in her confusion.]

H-Hey! Watch out! [She's being a little rude.]


Phase IV



[Temperance now in full hold her morning started off with less than needed or wanted terms. Throw a Temperance and Tower in one house and the results didn't turn out well. After her altercation with Vincent, Lily was left waking up in the street outside of her apartment.

During the fight she tried to take what was her's, Vincent, only to the result of them both unleashing chains and the blonde shooting her in the head and sending her flying out the window. It was one hell of a morning. Luckily he didn't behead her and being a Baskerville meant that the gunshot wouldn't kill her.

Eyes opening she felt the pain from the shot to the head, the wound already healing but the blood remaining as it covers her face and hair. Sitting up she looks up at the house with a glare before she shoot her gaze down the street. She would deal with him later...right now there were others she needed to claim. They didn't need anyone but her after all.

Standing up and walking past people she doesn't even mind the blood as she passes them. Until she stops and tries to get some of it out of her eyes. She really looks like she should be taken to a hospital.]

Not that Sousei is all too concerned with manners, and honestly, he's sturdy enough that her bumping into him was hardly even felt.

He tilts his head at her. Why is she vaguely familiar...]

[She looks at the man...not sure who this person was but the way he's looking at her gets her curious.

Looking down she puffs out her cheeks a little before she nods.]

[Looking back up she looks over his clothes then to his face.]

[HERE COMES OZ, miraculously unaffected despite his usual penchant for tripping headfirst into really awful situations. And there goes Lily, who looks-- definitely not as fortunate?! ACTUALLY PRETTY BLOODY, and yes, Oz is completely aware of the fact that gunshot wounds are not enough to kill a Baskerville, but this is still alarming...

So OVER OZ ZIPS, brow furrowed, looking every bit as concerned as he feels.]

Lily—? What happened?

[That's good! Since Lily was in this neck deep this time. Still a little in a daze from the shot she hears the person approaching before she looks up to see him. Blinking some of the fluid from her eyes, she quickly locks onto who this was.

Oz.

Lily looks happy for a moment as he looks overly concerned for her.]

Oz! I was shot but it's okay since you found me, you're my good friend Oz...right?

Looking back at her she quirks a brow before she jumps from her seat.]

[She really should be taken to the hospital. Hence why Tenka doesn't hesitate to scoop her up into his arms the second that he sees her. There's so much blood and there's no hiding the distress in his eyes as he tries to figure out whether or not she's in pain or if she's in shock.]

Lily-chan. Lily-chan-- [okay he doesn't have time for this] Lily.

Lily, look at me. Can you hear your Ten-nii? Can you see me?

[He can feel the rage boiling up in him - who could have done this to such a small girl?]

[Lily had initial pain from the shot...and fall, but right now she was more numb than anything. She just wants to find her 'friends' so she can express how dear they are to her. So that no one else can have them. That is the plan but one certain 'friend' suddenly scooping her up causes her to be left in surprise.

In Tenka's arms she looks up at the man with a blank kind of stare before she begins to smile. Great! One of her friends found her, better yet it was her big brother.]

I can see and hear you...I'm okay, now that you're here.

[Like flies to a corpse, Henry can't help but hone in on the blood, even abandoning his current hexing victim (whose jewelery abruptly stops strangling her, letting her escape; what a fun prank) in order to get closer.]

Wow, that looks terrible!

[Said in a tone that's more congratulatory than concerned, he approaches to fall into step with her to try and get a better look at the wound.]

[Standing still she watches at the new man gets closer to her. He wasn't her friend...yet. So her need to express her friendship wasn't as strong but he does speak to her.

Lily wipes some of the blood from her face as she looks to the other man...he has pretty white hair like Mister Ninja.]

[It wasn't Lily's fault, Fuuka hadn't been looking where she was going either. Between being impressed by the city and whatever techology it had to offer, she couldn't help but feel like she was in the future. She had wondered what it would be like if she could make something similiar to what they had should she had to chance.

Of course, now that she was bumped into someone?]

[Nevermind that she was being rude but Lily comes first!]

[The confusion from the fortune lady is really what fuels her reaction. When she sees the woman she bumped into her expression softens and an embarrassed blush paints her cheeks.]

Sorry there, kiddo. Didn’t look where I was going. [ He’d just been over his own fortune-telling session himself. A load of bullshit, he’d tell you—albeit in politer terms.

He gives her a pat on the head, trying to act as good-natured as he isn’t feeling right about now. He’d had a bad run in with the Aria lady beforehand and seeing her in a fucking game does not do well for his opinion of this place in general.

Fuck video games. He’s too old for video games. ]

Lily looks up at the man, he's tall, and she just kind of stares. Even as he starts to pat her head she can't help but to fill her head with questions. Like what was with his clothes...and where did he get that scar.

She'll just start with answering his question for now.

Shaking her head softly Lily answers him.]

No. The weird lady gave me a card and fortune...

Phase IV

[ Mikami thinks he can't trust his eyes anymore. There is no way a child like her should be standing up still with a head wound of this extend - this should apply even 112 year old children who summon dogs somehow, right? Maybe the realm of possibility isn't what he should be thinking about here though... No, most definitely not. Because... ]

[ He's not shouting but there is a strong urgency in his voice as he approaches her. ]

Don't move more than necessary when you're hurt like this!

[ More pressing questions like 'why' or 'how' will need to wait until the extend of the situation is examined. ]

[For Baskervilles this kind of wound was nothing, well not nothing, but not enough to kill. It did hurt and then pieces of glass on her were inconvenient but right now she was more annoyed than anything. All so wanted to do was to show Vincent that he was her...what a difficult man.

She was about to move forward when she hears a familiar voice and she turns to face the direction it came from.

It was Teru...her friend.]

But he looks down, thinking that 'that's a familiar voice' and also finding the presence familiar. He recalls where he knows if from quickly. ]

[All too quickly she looks up at the face and right away she remembers him.]

[He doesn't seem blind now, he excitement is hard to hide.]

[ not that it isn't partially her fault, considering she'd been looking around as she'd walked as well. that doesn't mean she wasn't ready to say something to whoever had bumped into her (especially when they say what she does), but the words die in her throat as she sees who, exactly, it is.

[ Clearly upset, Mirai seriously should be the one watching where she's going. Her device in hand, she's furiously typing into it even after her retort. If Lily listens closely, she can hear Mirai say something like: "I think fortunes shouldn't be lying to us if they're not really going tell the future!" as she mashes the buttons.

Looks like she's not the only one unsatisfied with her fortune. ]

[Soramaru isn't doing much when he sees Lily on the streets with a blood all over her face. Thanks to his own tarot card takeover, there's very little reaction coming from him.

Strike that, there's zero reaction coming from him. Still, as he draws near, he makes an impassive comment just because why the heck not.]

You've got blood there. [Points to her head... You know, just in case you wanna wipe that off. His expression stays blank, tone revealing that he doesn't really care at all.]

WHOOPS PHASE I ...

[Venturing out is still new to Elsa, but bit by bit she's growing accustomed to it. And as her anxiety fades so does her errant unintentional magic. So there's a remarkable lack of frost, even as she startles and steps back as the girl crashes into her. Her eyebrows rise at the words, but she offers a smile anyway.]

Sorry. I was distracted, I guess. [But oh it's the little girl she spoke to the other day. The one who was waaaay too nonchalant about discussing being shot in the head.] Are you all right? [From being bumped into?]

phase iv! LIVING ON THE WILD SIDE, I GUESS .....

[ And Elliot's just rounding out on the scene, no less worse for the wear, although a bit frazzled by all the people who've clearly lost their minds somewhere between exiting the center and venturing outside. He's really not the best judge of character, but when people have clearly lost their sanity to the wiles of exhibitionism and insanity, then he's certainly not going to stand in the way and allow himself to be cut down.

It's just by coincidence that he catches sight of the child — he hadn't meant to be heading in the direction of Vincent's apartment, but given the state of affairs, it'd be better to reassure himself of his brother's safety — when he catches sight of such a tiny cloaked figure hurtling down the sidewalk so fast that he needed to outstretch one hand to grab ahold of the child before they flitted away, and then recognition dawns faster than he can curb his consternation —

... it's that Baskerville girl from ViViD, drenched in cooling blood and intent so malevolent he could've visibly recoiled if he wasn't concerned for her current wellbeing. ]
