light it up like paparazzi calling out my name; (CLOSED)
Who:
Rin &
Heero.
When: 7/12.
Where: Niteo, a bar in the Entertainment District.
What: Rin's having trouble with money as usual. Heero's been dispatched to resolve the matter.
Rating/Warning: PG-13, violence between two deceptively violent individuals.
[ While it was rare for Rin to go to work in the first place, the days following the robot incident resulted in her spending a lot more time in the night club. Her position was never once compromise due to forces beyond the spirit hacker's control but she made up for it by putting on a show every time she was present. With the amount of technology surrounding her, it was easy to manipulate the atmosphere and charm the loners in the club. Whether it was to dance or to sip at a drink, Rin found she preferred to be surrounded by noise than attempt to sleep at night.
Since her mind was in scattered fragments, a few things slipped by. Running an intricate link between multiple accounts to circulate credits artificially took a lot of care and lately, she hasn't had the attention to keep up with it. Which meant some bills weren't being paid for and one of them was especially of concern since it had to do with a limited resource.
Oops.
At least there was one good thing to be found in her post-traumatic state: predictability. Each night she's here, late, and doesn't leave until it's morning. Why, she might even slide right into the booth beside someone if they look a little broody. ]

But right now, he's taking a break, and while a club is not a place he'd typically spend time at, it beats spending the night staring at schoolwork... even if he's not a dancer or a drinker. Besides, he's used to the noise of a battlefield, so a club is fairly comparable if he ignores the fact that he's horribly out of place here. At least the booth he'd chosen is out of the way, leaving him to sit quietly with a glass of water and something small to nibble on while watching the people around him, his back to the wall, door in sight.
He'd been paying more attention to his cerevice than to his surroundings, though, when movement caught at the corner of his eye makes him pause to glance in their direction. Sigh. So much for a quiet night. He'll move over a little bit to give
himselfthem space, at least. ]no subject
You're too young to be here. [ With that out of the way, she'll (rudely) crane her neck to try to take a peek at his Cerevice. ]
Also not very good at blending in. Who comes to a club and stares at their phone the entire time?
no subject
But the attempt to look at his Cerevice is what pulls him away from the device, immediately shutting it off and setting it on the table. ] What else would I be doing?
[ Technically, he should be working. Or doing homework. One of the two. ]

I don't know.
What kind of jobs do teenagers have again? Mowing lawns? Well, it isn't as if there are any lawns here to mow.
Babysitting?
[ Yes, she just implied that he's babysitting material.
She doesn't even look that much older than him. She's tiny and full of youthful energy, almost as if she doesn't need to sleep at all. ]

[ Heero with children? That's just asking for trouble! But at the same time, she doesn't know him, so he'll let it slide. Though, it might help if she didn't look about his age... ]
I've never done any of those. [ Okay, the sleeping, yes. The homework, grudgingly, but again yes. The rest? Not so much. ] And I wouldn't know what sort of jobs normal teenagers have. Besides, if appearances are anything to go on, shouldn't you be doing the same?
[ Ask a silly question, girl, get a silly question in return! Or something like that. ]

There's no lie in that though. That seems to be a preference. ] Plus if I really wanted to, I can just change my image with the technology around here like I can in ViViD. What would they call it in a video game? Glamour..?
[ It's as if she's hatched a new money making scheme in her mind... but she brushes it off, not wanting to really share it with this boy. ] You didn't come here to chat it up with a pretty girl or boy, did you?

I'm taking a break from work, which is neither babysitting nor mowing lawns. [ A pause as he picks his Cerevice back up to sift through some information before turning the screen toward her. Does he care if someone's personal information is out in the open? Not really. Names, account information, missed payments... the only thing missing are photographs. ] It's a headache.

[ She's going to lean in a bit though and take a gander at his screen since he's presenting it for her. A small part of her is jealous that his job involves using his Cerevice while Rin's involves being social (gagggg) but oh, she may recognize some of that information. ]
So what's your job? Data entry or something boring?
no subject
[ It's one of the least glamorous things he could've chosen, but he isn't one to just randomly find a new job and the other two options had been terrible (really, a sample giver at a candy store and a cybuddy socializer? who picks these things?). But at the same time, it's something he's capable of doing with the least amount of difficulty, so he went with it. ]
Though, people tend to cave quickly and set up a means of payment when confronted directly and threatened with having their accounts hacked. [ He's got no qualms with manipulating data to get the results he needs. It's just like hacking the financial databases of those fancy private schools he had to use for a cover. ]

Mostly because she tried to break their nose.
Also may have had her body guard try to kill them. Good times. Good times. ]
People just crack like that? I guess everyone's worried about someone invading their privacy but you think they'd want to see some proof of it first.
no subject
[ The fact that he's usually in possession of his handgun might aid in that a bit too, though. ]
I'm sixteen. If I wasn't capable of doing it, I wouldn't be in this position, as most seem to think I'm a child. [ and he is. ] I have no problem proving them to be wrong.
no subject
So I'd be careful about who you threaten.
no subject
Would you prefer someone end up hurt? [ Because that can be arranged! ] People get themselves so worked up over words. A threat means nothing if one doesn't act upon it.
