Who: Hinata
gentlestep and Naruto
findpeace
When: Day after the event
Where: Ramen!
What: Hinata trying to get the confidence to drag Naruto out on their first real date
Rating/Warning: It's gonna get so cute up in here you're gonna get cavities.
[Hinata was waffling already. What had started out as a text exchange turned into her asking him to go with her to get ramen. Somehow she'd managed to use the word 'date' somewhere in that text. She wished she could have said something more witty and yet this was her and it was him. This entire thing had been in her head ever since seeing Yuri's memories with Lee. If she and Lee could still be confused about where they were with their feelings, or at least Yuri, Hinata needed to be well past that. At least it was what she had decided afterwards, when thinking back on it and on their current situation. Still, she wanted things to be perfect - even with a simple outing for food. She waits for him outside of the apartment building, pacing a bit as she rehearses how she planned to greet him.]
H-hello, Naruto-kun!! [No, no that was too simple... she needed something else. Something better. Why was it so hard just to get this right?]
Uhm... hmm... maybe I should have brought him something like last time?
[Odds are - like last time - Naruto would probably walk in on her rehearsing. How embarrassing!]

All of this reminds him of not that long ago - she'd been waiting outside his apartment then too. With that package that was the scarf she'd been trying to give him.
Her hands are empty, which is probably the reason she's asking herself that question. Well, he catches part of that question as he closes the distance between them.]
Brought me what, Hinata?
[Congratulations, he's standing right behind her when he asks that.]

Nothing-!! I-I just was thinking... what would be appropriate for our first date.
[Miss prim and proper, and all that. She has no idea what she's doing. Where is Hanabi when she needs her. Instead of letting it get to her, she turns to face him, moving to step into arms reach so that she can rest her hands in his mismatched ones.]

Date. He scratches at the back of his head casually. Isn't he supposed to be the one to bring things to her on the date? Honestly Naruto doesn't know. Maybe he should give her flowers. But she works in a flower shop already so... she could get all the flowers she wants from there.]
You don't have to bring me things, you know.

[She smiles, pulling him forward a bit in the direction of the ramen shop.]
Should we get going?
[Though she won't complain if he wants to just stand there with her. She imagines Boruto staring down at them from his apartment, though.
Probably judging his dad fiercely]
