It wasn't usually a common sight to find someone, even a zookeeper, standing in an enclosure with a bird of prey. That said, it had been a somewhat more frequent occurrence at the one here since a certain Greeed with an affinity for birds had arrived. He was sitting on a rock by the fence, not far from the path where guests of the zoo could walk by and look in. His arm was the one that was clearly not human, armored in red and black with a sculpted bird along the back of it... and on the top of that was a real bird. A hawk, specifically, sitting there as calmly as if he were a tree.

Well.

At least she knew that wouldn't be enough to get him mad at her. He seemed more bemused by her weirdness than annoyed.

"You don't...mind, then?"

Just to be sure.

"...who knows?" He replied oh so helpfully, though he really didn't seem annoyed. Her insistence on liking to talk to him was... possibly inconvenient, but if she wanted to ignore warnings, that was up to her. She was actually one of the least annoying people he'd met here.

And the smile was back.

"Good. Then...I can come back here again?" To see both him and his bird friends. "Next time, I'll see if I can bring some bird food for your friend, too."

"Hawks don't eat bird food." Not the kind of things you'd normally think of, anyway. Some of the other birds went crazy over bird seed, though, and maybe if she was holding the bag they wouldn't all try to sit on him at once. He wouldn't mind that. He shrugged. "But do what you want."

"Well...then what does he eat?"

Aside from mice. She was brave and not so squeamish, but there were limits to what she could stand.

"You saw." An example, anyway. "They only eat meat." It didn't have to be mice, or be alive, but hawks were carnivores.

She had to stop and think about that for a moment, before her eyes lit up with an idea.

"Ah! Han-san had sausages the other night for dinner. I'm sure we have other meats like that in the kitchen. Maybe he'll let me bring one of those?"

That might work. Still, he wondered why she was trying so hard to figure it out.

"Why do you want to feed her so much? The zoo has plenty of food already."

"Because it's polite. I'm a guest here, so it's only proper for me to bring them a gift next time I come visit."

In this case, the only gift she could think of that they would appreciate was food. So food, it was.

What kind of thought process was that? As far as he knew, most places like this wouldn't let people feed the animals, anyway.

"I think you're the only person who thinks they should bring gifts to zoo animals."

"Not all of them. Just your hawk friend. Since we've met once already."
