What: Boruto wants to eat an actual meal without noodles involved and so they attempt to cook a new recipe together.
Rating/Warning: PG at most, hopefully they don't burn their house down.

[ If there was one small consolation prize to being kidnapped in this place it was that at least he was getting to finally spend some quality time with Naruto. Awkward as it was considering time line differences, it was still more attention than he was used to from the overly busy man and he was milking it for all it was worth. Which may have been the bigger reason behind whining about yet another meal of ramen and trying to get them to experiment a little.

He'd even gone out of his way to be the one to buy the cookbook and find the recipe before forcing his dad to help him buy the ingredients and actually get ready to start the whole process. He was squinting at the instructions, not... really paying attention to how he was chopping vegetables, which was obviously the safe thing to do. ]

[In the last couple of years ever since meeting his father and mother, he has been attempting to eat better like they wanted. Less ramen and more healthy meals but Naruto has never been the greatest of cooks. So typically he'd just eat out at different restaurants. Cooking at home was extremely rare. Unless it was ramen... so this is certainly an experience.

Boruto had gotten a cookbook (a lonely little cookbook) for their kitchen and had brought it to Naruto with a recipe all picked out. There was no way Naruto could say 'no' to trying. If he can follow instructions on a cup of ramen he should be able to follow a recipe in a book. Currently he was cutting some of the fat off the meat they had gotten.

[A kitchen battlescar is not all that impressive.]

I dunno. Maybe so that it's already hot when the food gets in there rather than letting it sit around inside as it gets warm.

[ He's quick to bring his focus back to the vegetable chopping, but groans at the explanation. It seems logical, but so pointless. He scrunches his face as he waits for the oven to actually tell them it's gotten hot enough to stick food in. The food they aren't even done preparing.

This child needs to learn patience. ]

That's stupid. They should make it get warmer faster. Mama always makes it seem so quick.

[ And easy. How does she get the onions chopped so small? His pieces are all uneven. ]
