What: The past few weeks and the disappearance of a friend have been rough on Yusuke, so he's taking his frustration out in the best way he knows how-- punching things. Unfortunately, with CERES machinery on the fritz, it seems like there's new (and not entirely willing) challengers being glitched into his level of Ultra Alley Brawlers...

[So you may be minding your own business, happily playing some innocent ViViD game such as Cybuddy Raiser or Gourmet Mother, or you're in the middle of labor-intensive RPG-style session, about to finally hit that desired stat level and take on the regional boss. Or you may even just be hanging around the ViViD Center, taking a break from the energy draining effects of the machines before jumping back into the fray again.

Suddenly, the area around you shifts and pixelates, stuttering and glitching for a moment or two, before it corrects itself, and-- wait a moment. This wasn't where you were before! Instead, you're looking out at one of these slightly grainy surroundings, while the dulcet sounds of this beautiful song blares all around you. Thankfully, your attire remains the same-- unless you're one of the unfortunate few whom the game had decided needed an outfit adjustment. But it's okay! High-cut leotards are great for kicking!

Like a large, blinking sign, the words A NEW CHALLENGER HAS APPEARED flashes above your head, before vanishing into thin air, replaced by a time slowly counting down from 90. Before you can really dwell on what those words mean, however, the loud sound of pounding feet rushes in your direction, a young man in this get-up charging towards you, fist cocked and ready to fight.

... you may want to do something about that.]

[tl;dr, welcome to the not!Street Fighter simulator! It's up to you if you want your character to be glitched into a weird fighter-game outfit, keep their normal attire, or change into some alt outfit from canon! If your character isn't a fighter, that's okay! There's handicaps in place, and, given how ViViD likes to mess with things, your character can easily be super strong or super weak given how you want the interactions to go! There's potential for final boss fights and bonus modes (as well as time-up 'draws'), so go wild! If you want to hash anything out or plot, hit me up at Urameshi!]

[After spending yesterday trying to get to his new surroundings, Takeru figured it would probably be better to spend some time in the ViViD. If he was new here once again, he might as well start ranking up his credits.

Hoping play a relaxing game of Gourmet Mother, that's when he found himself glitching into a strange new game. Wondering what's going on, he was just about ready to leave the game until...

He just had to see a familiar face pop up. Well, this is one way to spend the afternoon! But if he's a fight this person wants, it's a fight he'll get!]

Takeru! [Patamon shouted before showing a gust of wind straight to Yusuke!]

[The saddest part of all this was the fact that Ryuuga wasn't even trying to be anywhere near ViViD - he was actually on his way out from making a delivery when he was pulled in, now apparently wearing this weirdo getup.

Yeah, he looked like a metal band reject normally, but this was ridiculous. At least Zaruba somehow made it in with him - or maybe not, judging at the laughing coming from his left hand. He lifts it, ready to retort and glowering at the Madougu-

And the sound of footfalls has him immediately snapping to attention and into a fighting stance to sidestep the attempted rushdown and blink in confusion a couple times.]

[this isn't the scenario of his dreams, because that would not be anything involving a dude, and especially not Yusuke-- that'd be a nightmare.

No, but he's been waiting to beat his ass for a long time. This is like fate. So instead of dodging, or running, Kaneda stands his ground, fists raised.]

You're way too obsessed with me, dude.

[Okay, well, the last time he tried ViViD, he got glitched into fighting a dragon when all he wanted to do was some fishing. He also got to use a sweet-ass hookshot, so there's the upside. Well, he's going to try again because second time's the charm, right?]

[Except, no it's not. Because this looks decidedly unlike a fishing simulator.]

[He's in his normal attire but...his dao is missing. And he's got these really cool wraps around his hands. And...a headband? That's constantly flowing in the wind? He doesn't even feel wind. He doesn't even feel a breeze.]

Huh...well, the music is catchy...wait, what does that say...?

[It's around this time that Darin turns and sees the fist flying for his head.]

[Which he dodges by doing a ridiculous backflip and backpedaling away.]

W-WHAT THE HELL, MAN?! WHO JUST RUSHES SOMEONE AND TRIES TO SUCKERPUNCH THEM?!

[When Yuna first appears in the strange pixelated game world, she's confused mostly by her change in attire. It's not her usual, but she feels pretty at ease in it, giving the staff a little twirl. Of course, she's less than at ease with the screaming barbarian bearing down on her and swings the bludgeon at him purely on reflex.]

What in the world?!

[It's odd for Yusuke to be in ViViD willingly-- after his previous experiences with it, he had every reason to be wary about it, and he gave it a wide berth when he could. However, dealing with sudden kidnappings and missing memories and people he knew suddenly vanishing left and right was frustrating to say the least, and waiting until night-time to run off to the Pleasure District to fight some dudes was not helping whatsoever. So, despite his own misgivings about ViViD, he decided to throw caution to the wind and load himself up into whatever fighting game was available, hoping that maybe heading into the system of his own free will would make things different.

And, so far, it seemed to be pretty standard: the opponents were of various strengths, though he managed to beat them fairly quickly. However, he blinked for a moment when the NEW CHALLENGER sign flashed in front of him, somewhat confused. Did someone else join the session? They looked somewhat familiar, but he couldn't quite place his finger on it. He wasn't going to dwell on it long, however. Whoever showed up here was here to fight, and he wasn't about to lose his upper-hand.

As he rushes the newcomer, though, the sudden appearance of a certain winged potato nearly causes him to fumble, and the name the small creature cries just confirms it.]

T... Takeru?!

[And thanks to that distraction, Patamon's wind attack hits him head on, flinging him back a few feet before he tumbles to the ground.]

Gah!

READY TO ROCK!!!!

[Unfortunately for Ryuuga, his fancy get-up makes him near unrecognizable to Yusuke at first glance. A lot of the other characters he had faced earlier had their fair share of odd costumes, but the NEW CHALLENGER sign indicated he may be another resident joining in on the session. But man, what self-respecting person would wear that much white all the time? Were they a priest or something?

But now was not the time to ponder these questions. The clock was counting down, and judging how this guy managed to dodge his initial attack, it meant he had more of a challenge on his hands. Not missing a beat, he pivots on his foot and aims a spinning back kick to Ryuuga's side, hoping to land a hit. The other man's confusion was odd, but maybe he wasn't expecting to be attacked so soon into the round?]

What the HELL?!

[Yusuke practically stumbles to a stop, unsure if this is ViViD playing another fucked up trick on him again. All he had wanted to do was kick some ass and cool off a little-- not deal with this walking mass of embarrassment. He shoots him the saltiest of looks for a moment, and considers sniping back (after all, Kaneda was the one who showed up here, not him), but... no. If he started bickering with this douchebag, he'd just be wasting time, and last thing he wanted to do was find out what the time penalty was here.]

Ah, fuck it. This'll be an easy win.

[And so he rushes Kaneda again, fist drawn back and ready to slam into Kaneda's face with brutal, knock-out force.

Or... he assumes it is, anyway. Boy, that would suck if they pulled a handicap on him now, wouldn't it?]

[Oooookay, that crazy dodge wasn't what he expected, but... in a way, maybe that was kind of good? The other fighters he had faced so far were pretty standard in skill, so beating them wasn't as satisfying as he wanted it to be. Whoever this new player in the session was, they seemed to have talent.

... and then the voice and the face all register, and Yusuke can't help making a Face. Talk about a disappointment.]

Oh jeez. YOU? I thought you got suffocated by that stupid sand castle!

[The time was ticking, however, so he was going to have to banter and fight at the same time. Yusuke charges towards him again, hoping to swoop in for a sweep to knock him off his feet.]

That's called making the first attack, dumbass! Don't go hopping into these things if you don't got a clue what to do!

[Darin has the exact same reaction when he hears Yusuke's voice. In fact, he's probably even more annoyed because he just wanted to relax and do some damn fishing!]

Butthead?! Are you serious?!

[Now that he's on guard, Darin quickly jumps over Yusuke's head to his opposite side. He spins and kicks out, his heel reaching at about his waist, but hopefully Yusuke's head is still where it was supposed to be.]

I didn't want to play a damn fighting game! This isn't what I wanted at all! I just wanted to kick back, relax, and do some fishing!

But if you're so hellbent on fighting, Butthead, I can just as easily let of some steam on you!

[That sounded wrong, but Darin just doesn't care.]

[Wow, rude much, Yuna?? Clearly she was here to fight (or, at least, that's what he assumed-- he wasn't aware of any glitches as of yet), so he had no qualms rushing in for a direct attack. Others may think it was a terrible thing to do, but Yusuke wasn't about to throw a match over something like gender.

He sees the bludgeon coming his way, and he attempts to duck under it, or at least try to grapple it from her hands. However, his limbs begin to feel oddly heavy and slow, and before he knows it, there's a stick smashing into his face and pitching him away from Yuna.]

Gack!

[Welp, that just shaved off some of his health bar.]

[he cackles, blood boiling at being UNDERESTIMATED all this time! You thought he'd go home and cry about being burned so badly? WRONG! It only made him stronger, more cocky, dumber.

He'll take that fist (stop.....), but when he does, he'll use that force to slam a fist towards Yusuke's gut]

[Yuna skips away, twirling her staff with a kind of skill she wasn't sure she had. The weapon was also unfamiliar, lacking the ball on top, but she was fairly sure she could use it to conjure and Send so that was something. Angling the pole defensively, she did her best to keep it between him and her, not knowing what was happening except that she was under attack.]

Who are you, and why are you attacking me?

[Steel laced her words a sudden sense of anger welling up in her. Why did this guy just...annoy her...on principle?]

[ Well, there went all of his level grinding. Duo had found himself oddly involved in RPG style games, being able to make his party rounded out and leveled up, all the kinds of things he'd assumed Heero might be in to. Maybe he just thought it was a good time sink, too, considering how much down time he'd had pretty recently. Not wanting to spend any time out and about with those weird soul animals around had done a lot for his time spent logged in on ViViD.

He hadn't expected the game to suddenly pixelate and glitch out - sending him in to some weird jungle pier, and he takes a moment to look at that sign above his head, squinting slightly at it - at least he maintained his usual outfit. His boyish figure might not look too good in a leotard..

Either way, when he hears someone running toward him he's immediately turning to see who it is, falling in to a fighting position like second nature. First order - to dodge that fist coming at him. The second?

Aiming a nice gut punch to start. Heero had taught him a thing or two about those. ]

[Yeah. No. This is definitely not the game she wanted to play. If the words flashing above her head don't make that obvious enough, then the moron charging towards her will. Normally, she tries to log out whenever ViViD sticks her in a random level. But on this particular day? Her fight or flight instincts are firmly set on fight, and she's moving out of the way before he can land a hit.

A second later, and she's aiming a kick at his back. Being in one of her normal outfits won't stop her from using her full strength for this.

... Why the heck is this guy attacking her, anyway?]

[Well, this was more like it! Getting the first strike on the other opponents in the game was nice and all, but a fight was more fun when there was a bit of a challenge involved. Beating up someone for the sake of beating them up got a little dull after a while.

His eyes lit up in recognition once Duo swiftly dodges his initial attack, that long, brown ponytail a dead giveaway. What other guy in this city had hair THAT long? But clearly he had some decent fighting chops, so he had to stay on his toes if he didn;t want to get penalized.

Yusuke's arm swings out, hoping to block that punch before it can wind him, while his other circles around to try to aim a blow to his lower ribs. That could shave off some HP, right?]

[One would think he'd maybe hold back or slow down a little in the face of a normal-looking girl in the game, but if they were in the session, it obviously means they wanted to fight, right? And he wasn't about to end this prematurely because of that.

Her deftly dodging his initial strike was almost to be expected (after all, one has to be prepared when shoved into a fight), but the kick was not, moving much faster than he anticipated. Letting out a grunt of pain as the blow connects, he falls to the ground and rolls back onto his feet, hand hovering slightly above his back. Damn, that hurt. Maybe he should take back that 'normal' assumption. No regular girl could kick that hard.

Steeling himself, Yusuke rushes towards Touka once more, sending rapid-fire punches in her direction. If she was going hard-ball, so was he.]

[The moment that Patamon hit him straight in the face, the boy wasted no time in rushing over to Yusuke's side. And yet, there was a nagging part of him that should know this person. If this raven haired boy knew who he was, why couldn't he?

His name was on the tip of his tongue. Why can't he remember him at all?]

Are you okay? I'm sorry, you're not hurt are you? [Well, of course he was. His flying hamster just hit head on! But it never hurt to ask!]

I don't think Patamon meant to hurt you but I think you should be careful next time. And especially when the ViViD can glitch and hurt people.

[On a meta level, it's almost hilarious considering that other titleholders of GARO wore white coats. Personally, to Ryuuga, he doesn't look all that great in white. But that's beside the point-

Ryuuga ends up swinging an arm down to block the hit - still stung, though - and steps forward himself, sweeping his front leg around to retaliate with his own side kick.]

[Rock Lee enters the simulation and he ends up in an alternate outfit. However, he does not seem to have any trouble adapting to his surroundings, and he immediately leaps into the air.]

DYNAMIC ENTRYYYY!!!! [He looks set to dropkick his opponent directly in the face!]

[ Well, Duo always liked to give everyone a run for their money, if possible! The braided boy hasn't had a good fist fight go on in a little while - well.. that was a lie. He'd punched Heero and promptly gotten the air clobbered out of him, but hey - life was life, and he'd learned from that little incident. Mainly that when Heero told him to hit him, that he really shouldn't. But anyways -

Duo's attempt at a gut punch does manage to get blocked, and Yusuke manages to shave off a little HP with that hit to his side - he'd tried to clamp up enough to block it, but hey, not everyone moves quickly enough sometimes. But, now, Yusuke is close, which means he can try to get ahold of his shirt and use his knees to get a little bit of health off, or something similar. Learning how to fight first on the street gave Duo a little bit of a non-traditional way of fist fighting.. some might call it 'dirty'.. but as long as there wasn't biting he was pretty cool with it.

No better way to get the blood pumping than a good ol' fight, right? ]

[It takes him a moment to sit back up again, somewhat dazed by the attack. It wasn't as if it was the worst thing he's ever been struck with, but boy, did that ever take him off-guard. He blinks for a second or two, trying to regain his senses, and looks over to the boy hovering nearby. If he had any doubts before, Takeru mentioning Patamon erased all of it. But why the heck did he look so different?

Yusuke waves a hand, brushing away Takeru's concern.]

Don't worry, kid, I'm fine. I was just stupid and got distracted.

[He shoots him a curious look, though, trying to puzzle things together in his head. Hikari said he was missing, so Yusuke assumed he was sent home, but... maybe they brought him back? But why?]

I'm more concerned about you though. Where the heck were you the past few days? Growthspurt-ville?

[With his own balance compromised by executing that kick, Ryuuga's attack succeeds in knocking Yusuke down (as well as shaving a bit off of his HP), causing him to tumble to the ground. With his reflexes, however, he rolls himself into a crouch, taking a moment to feel his injury before rushing towards his opponent again.

Drawing his fist back and keeping himself low, he aims a couple of rapid-fire strikes towards Ryuuga's abdomen, hoping to at least land a hit on him.]

WHAT.

W H A T???

Yusuke was positive that was strong enough to put Kaneda out, so why was he still standing? It was the same kind of punch he pulled on Yanagisawa when he was disguised as Kuwabara, and there was NO way this chucklefuck was any stronger than he was. So what gives?

Before he can mentally freak out any further however, the other boy's fist barrels into his stomach, pushing the wind out of him and causing him to black out for a brief moment. What the FUCK? WHAT THE FUCK??

Summoning whatever strength he still has after that hit, he pulls back his other fist and aims it under Kaneda's jaw, hoping to knock him back and give himself a second or two to get his bearings.]

[After the events of yesterday, Takeru was trying to resist a smirk on his face. But alas, it seeme as if he couldn't win the battle. While it had been a surprise to many of his friends that he appeared before them, it was another thing to see their reactions.

Was it really that surprising to see him grow up? And especially when he turned 10 not too long ago either?]

You could say that. It's been 3 years since I left Cerealia so I've been through I lot! I suppose you weren't expecting to see me back here were you?

[However, that did raise another question in Takeru's mind. Why did Cerealia sent him back home if all they wanted was to bring him back? It seemed to serve no purpose in mind at all.]
