[CLOSED] A Champion v Rival, can he expect survival?
Who: Silver
brbstealingpknm & Steven
geophile
When: Backdated to IC 8/7
Where: ViViD
What: Steven and Silver have a pokemon battle.
Rating/Warning: It's a pokemon battle. Warnings will be added if needed. (Though Silver might be a warning in his own....)
[The arena Silver managed to set up is simple, and reminiscent of an outdoor gym. Though the feeling around it is vaguely like being under the sea; that's not the sky high above, either, even if there is enough sunlight coming through the water. At least they're not wet, and the fish theme is tasteful minimal. What, he already misses the bubble, and given the chance to set up the level, of course he'd pick what he's comfortable with.
Silver himself is leaning against the stand for non-existent spectators, hair now in a loose ponytail, that does nothing to wipe the confident smirk off his face. He's pretty sure he's going to win; his pokemon are a team - a better team, now. He could have allowed spectators, but - no. He doesn't want to worry about their safety, not when he's in the mood for a decent battle that could very well see dark pulse, shadow ball, or magnet bombs being thrown around by his own pokemon.
Once Steven appears, the young adult pushes away from his resting spot, and heads towards the man, hands in pockets, and - is that seven pokeballs on his belt? Is that a cherishball?] Ready to lose? 6-on-6 or -? I'll match if you want lower. It doesn't really matter to me.
[He already set the arena, so it's only fair Steven set how many they use in the battle.]

[ nag nag nag. skarmory, meanwhile, looks quite proud of himself for being able to take down the sneasel without too much of a fuss. when gengar comes out, it'll stare it down with an intense gaze... until confuse ray hits.
of course, it's going to affect the bird, putting it into a daze that makes it unable to distinguish where it is or what it's attacking. steven's brow knits, but he hardly panics. ]
Take it slow, Skarmory. Fly.
[ unsteadily, he'll flap his wings to rise into the air for the first turn of invulnerability. but his movements are garbled and not nearly as smooth as before, and it may lead to wonder if it can even stay airborne for long. ]

Fly - Well. Ok. Either Steven is a cheating bastard, or he comes from a world where pokemon can know more than more moves at time, or - something about this world simply breaks the rules Silver is used to. A thought for later, after the battle.] Cute. Ready a Dark Pulse, but wait until it comes down, then fire.
Gaahr~!
[Hopefully hurting itself and not his pokemon, but without type weaknesses at play, his ghost/poison should be fine.]

unfortunately, the dive that he takes on fly's second turn misses horribly, which means that the poor steel-type will be crashing into the ground quite hard. combine that with being hit with a dark pulse, and that means that he's on his last legs. thankfully, all of that is enough to snap it out of the confused state. ]
Back in the air if you're able, Skarmory. Don't give it another opening!

[ Gengar cackles, knowing what his master wants and unphased by the tone, and he agrees. Time to (hopefully) knock a birdie down a peg or three. Another crackling ball of darkness forms before it's flung at the skarmory with a loud cackle-bark, almost like a war-cry.]

[ with a great beat of his wings, skarmory blows a last-ditch, razor sharp gust of wind to meet gengar's night slash. and while it does succeed in blocking some of the hit (and getting a few in on gengar), it doesn't stop it completely. there's a small explosion upon the impact, and the dust will clear with skarmory knocked out.
steven sighs when he sees his fainted partner, but not without a small smile as he recalls him to his ball. ]
You did well. Rest now.
