When we get started we ain't gonna stop [CLOSED]
Who: Jessica Albert (
magicburst) & Darin Altway (
forgeabettertomorrow)
When: IC: 8/12
Where: The Game Center and into the Colosseum in ViViD
What: Jessica and Darin have the stupidest bet ever going on and now they're putting each other to the test. Who will manage to leave the ring the least embarrassed?
Rating/Warning: A few clothing malfunctions and yelling but likely nothing else. Will update if needed.
[She had said Sunday and she certainly meant it. An evening or so to think things through hadn't really dimmed Jessica's fervor much. She had never quite liked anyone telling her what she should do or feel on any matter, even something as silly as this one. And though she could recognize on one hand that this whole event was silly at best, she couldn't quite bring herself to do the sensible thing of backing down. Her, back down? Not from a fight!
So here it is around Sunday afternoon with her standing before the Game Center, well known now after several games inside it's walls. Her arms are crossed and she taps a foot as she waits out the arrival of her opponent.
One of them would taste a bit of humble pie and Jessica was determined it wouldn't be her.]

By the time he notes his own state of disarray, Jessica can't help but enjoy a good laugh. Yes it's petty of her but it feels awfully nice to see him just as tattered as she is.]
You're in the same situation, you know. Maybe you should consider that before you go around talking about proving points.
no subject
But see, I don't mind! I'm not exactly some wilting flower, here!
And I came prepared, anyway! Because no one can complain about anvils!
[Well, it's true. He's not exactly shy considering what's left his boxers are barely staying on. Though it's probably his blatant overconfidence that gets on Jessica's nerves more.]
You're the one that got all flustered!
no subject
[She is. She is all flustered. She also can't stand that it's being pointed out so easily.
And considering talking about her being flustered makes her flustered, she's not precisely helping her case.]
no subject
It's really funny, because on the one hand, you're a total badass! I mean, those spells you were flinging? Whoa! I've never seen anything like that in my life! And that power boost you gave me? Seriously, that was amazing!
But then on the other hand, you getting all flustered like this is...
Actually pretty cute!
[This clueless idiot. He's laughing.]
no subject
She ogles him a moment as she tries to decide how serious he really is, huffs out a breath or two and then turns on her heel to start marching off in the opposite direction of Darin.]
Stop fooling around! I'm not out here attempting to be cute or-- it's nothing like that.
no subject
...I know that.
I'm just being honest.
And today was...actually a lot of fun!
no subject
It was.
[No really, it was. Jessica does genuinely love using her magic after all and proving her skills to herself.]
Though next time I could do without that difficulty level. Or the loss of clothing.

As long as there's a 'next time' I'd be down for anything.
[He laughs a little awkwardly. For all their back and forth, being able to fight side by side like that with someone...he definitely had a whole new respect for the girl. Sure, she was loud and had a temper to match, but...well...]
[He couldn't exactly say he didn't like those aspects about her. It definitely made things interesting, at least.]
[Suddenly, he snaps his fingers.]
Ah, wait here a second!
[He turns and heads out of ViViD and goes towards one of the prize counters in the Game Center. Some heated negotiations later, and Darin's running back with...a cape? It's gaudy as hell.]
Here...wrap this around your waist. This might be the Pleasure District, but we don't want anyone getting the wrong idea about you.
no subject
What there was of anger melts off as easily as it came and she snorts before breaking into a laugh.]
You're really are sweet guy in the end, aren't you.
[It's a bit of deja vu saying such but it's a nice bit of deja vu. She takes a moment to drape the gaudiest cape ever around her waist by one of it's sides. A few tucks and honestly it's no worse than any other wrap-type skirt.]
There now, much better.
no subject
[He laughs, a tinge of a blush highlighting his cheeks.]
Hey now, that looks pretty good on you!
no subject
[She's in a much better mood now, pausing to stretch a moment with arms above her head before she speaks again.]
Despite everything the ViViD is rather handy. I do like a good fight after all.
[Hands on her hips finally, she adds:]
And I suppose in the end you did win our bet. I'll treat you to a meal or something the next time we meet up, alright?
[This is her offhandedly admitting that yes, she did get flustered. And then skipping straight over it too. She's so smoot.]
no subject
[There's nothing sarcastic about his tone. He's being genuine and sincere. He rub the back of his head and laughs at what she says after though.]
Y'know...to be honest? I didn't really see a thing. So...I don't think I really won anything.
I mean, only a real jerk would make a girl flustered just to prove a point.
[Which is exactly what he did. BUT WHO'S REALLY PAYING ATTENTION ANYWAY??]
[He turns and heads for the exit, shooting Jessica a smile over his shoulder.]
I still wouldn't mind 'a meal or something' with you, though. You're ever looking for someone to go back to back with, I wouldn't mind watching yours, Jess.
[With that, he heads on out with a wave over his shoulder. In his tattered boxers. Into the Pleasure District. Nothing seems to really faze the man for long.]
You know where to find me!
