Who: Himeko Inaba and you, unfortunate soul!
When: 9/21 - 9/23; during the aftermath of the Event 33; feel free to specify a date.
Where: Various locations in Cerealia.
What: Inaba finds out that almost nearly all of the people she's cared about in this world has suddenly disappeared. It doesn't help that she has dreams about them as of late, either.
Rating/Warning: PG-13; may contain some slightly sexual comments, but nothing explicit.

►►► OPTION A: After we unexpectedly connect, the world will change ( ceres academy )

[ If you're a student at the academy, you've probably encountered Inaba teaching classes. She specifically deals with computer and information technology as well as sexual education. Of course, during classes today, you might notice that she's opted out of actually teaching new material, allowing for a video presentation to do most of the work instead as she sits down and goes on ahead to down some coffee.

She's got a rather sizable mug which is rather unbecoming of her - it's as if she's trying to force herself to stay awake.

Of course, while she's given everyone some study time, she's just going to be idly browsing her own computer, almost bored. ]

►►► OPTION B: you'll see a scene more dazzling than ever ( cosplay cafe )

[ A good thing about the cosplay cafe: she can wear a mask when she's working, and it really does help when she's in a rather cute costume, too. She's working twice as hard as usual, but she doesn't seem to look tired or out of it in the slightest bit. In fact, she seems rather energetic. But it's a false kind of energy.

If you're a customer, the moment you enter is when the iron strikes hot - she's definitely going to be smiling to the brim with excitement. ]

[ She has to keep up the charade or else she'll break. And she doesn't plan on breaking. ]

►►► OPTION C: What can you see over there? ( hospital )

[ After the whole ruckus with the glitching, Inaba's opted to visit the hospital. Thankfully there's no robots to deal with (at least CERES based ones) and there's honestly something that she's got to do here. She needs to put these priorities first, even if it knows that she's going to hate the procedure.

Hence why she waves someone down, a strained smile on her lips, dark circles around her eyes -- ]

[Kaneda has very few reasons to come to school, and her teaching and the food certainly ain't the reason either, but this is pathetic. He was expecting SOMETHING other than this!!

So during the movie, he saddles on up to her desk and sits on it.]

Inaba-san! [Rock Lee was on his way towards the exit after getting a small training wound treated, and he was surprised to see Inaba - especially with her condition and her question.]

Ah... Is everything alright?! I... I do not know any surgeons personally. The greatest healer I know h-has been missing from this world for some time now!

I'm fine.

[ For the most part. ] I just needed someone who's familiar with eye surgery to check on the implants.

Eye- eye surgery? Ah, I see... The implants. I did hear someone talking about them on the network, but I do not think that I know of any eye surgeons... I apologize, Inaba-san!

... Yeah. [ She raises her hands apologetically, however. ]

It's fine, though. I needed to check the X-rays and then see if someone could rip them out while they're acting up like this.

I understand. [He nods lightly.] I- I hope that such a process goes smoothly!! If you find someone, I will undergo the process as well!

Yeah... [ There's worry in her expression, partially because of the idea of going through such a process, but. ] I'll try my best.

Soooo. How have you been doing lately?

[ It's time for a change of subject! ]

I know that you will, Inaba-san! [He says that with a reassuring smile. Then he goes on.]

Ah... I have been doing well, I believe... and enduring several hardships. It seems that many people have disappeared lately, and corn has been following me around! I have also been having very unusual dreams!

. . . Corn?

[ She's just giving Lee a look, because seriously? ] And what kind of dreams?

Yes, corn! [In fact, some stalks may be quietly sprouting up around them as they talk, right in the middle of the hospital.]

The dreams... Well, they have mostly been of my home. Konoha. And... and they feel so real, even more than dreams usually do! I spend time with people... even people that I met here! ...Actually, you might have been in one of them, Inaba-san!

Huh.

[ Inaba narrows her eyes, she's trying her best not to think upon her own dreams, because they just upset her even further. She hasn't gotten much sleep because of that, unfortunately. ]

... And me? What did I do?

[He pauses for a moment and thinks before he speaks.]

Ah... I believe that you were among a number of us eating at Ichiraku Ramen! It is the local ramen shop of Konoha... There were a number of us eating together. Friends from both home and here in Cerealia!

Hmm. I... see. To be honest, I wouldn't mind eating food from other worlds. Besides, having ramen from your world would be nice.

Ah, well that is good to hear! [He smiles.] I do not mean to be rude towards the place that has employed me in this world, but I do not think that any ramen here matches up to that made by Ichiraku back home! I hope that you could join us someday...

Do you think it would be possible, Inaba-san? ...To visit each other's worlds?

I would hope so. [ Inaba taps her chin, deep in thought. ]

I mean... there's at least one world I'd want to visit.

There is? Which one?

It is?! Ah... than I shall leave it as it is, Inaba-san! But, whatever world it may be, I do hope that you can visit it someday!!

[All Ankh really wants is some food. He barely pays attention as he wanders into the nearest thing that seems to be a restaurant--and immediately regrets it. For one, it's obvious that this is the type of place that's likely to get on his nerves in general ~~half because it's too obnoxiously perky, the other half because it's too much like home~~.

The rest is the face he's greeted with, masked or not. He recognises her from when they met before, exploring CERES, but he'd hardly say she's someone he knows. More importantly, while that act might fool most people, he can sense well enough what's underneath it. The same epidemic of longing and homesickness that seems to be affecting the entire population.

For a moment, he just looks at her, takes in the fake smile and the atmosphere of the place. He doesn't need this.]

Neither.

[Nevermind. He'll find somewhere else to eat.]

Then why the hell did you come in the first place, huh?!

[ The mask is definitely coming off as she curls her fingers into a tight fists. While she's definitely upset and longing to see someone she cares about, the yearning to go home is mixed. It's not that she doesn't want to go home, no. She just doesn't have the same longing for it that a good majority of people have. ]
