closed to zelos;
this night is no different. he retired early with an excuse of not feeling well and fell into a fitful sleep that was unlike his usual nights. nightmares, vague visions of agony and distress plagued him, and it seemed like he was actually tossing and turning more than usual. his fits were accompanied with the occasional groan and sob when they got particularly bad, but before long, he managed to calm down and fall back into a peaceful sleep... or so it seemed.
it's fairly late into the night, sometime in the AM when the activity of the city had died down significantly when Lloyd finally rises, his eyes glazed over. he stumbles out of bed and passes through the sliding door of his room, into the space shared by him and Zelos as he makes a clumsy beeline towards the exit. his movements are sluggish and wobbly (though, by some miracle, he's yet to trip over his own feet), as though he were not completely awake.
or, in Lloyd's case, were not awake at all. ]

He could barely sleep even without that, so he had stood in the middle of the night to head to the bathroom. One light flashes on and he leans in closer to the mirror, turning his head to the side and gathering his hair up and out of the way to view the strange scales that had formed there with a frown. The discovery had happened by accident. The base of his neck wasn't anything he usually found himself looking at, but it just so happened that he had wanted to try a ponytail the other day, and a few modeling turns let him catch a glimpse. He'd worried it was a hallucination at first, but no. It was still there. There and larger, in fact.
The sound of footsteps behind him catches him off guard, and he drops his hair and spins in shock. He hadn't been paying enough attention! What if Lloyd--
But before he can even attempt to come up with excuses or things to say in hopes that he hadn't seen anything, Lloyd had passed by the door. Eyebrows furrowing in his concentration at that, he steps after his friend cautiously.
Was he... awake? It sure as hell didn't look like it. But for now, he'd follow from behind, trying to get an idea of just where he was going.]

oddly enough, it sounded as though a snore made its way out when Lloyd collided with the door. is he still asleep after all?
whatever the case may be, it seems like his goal wasn't a midnight snack or tinkle. his intention (if one could even call it that) seems to be to get out of the building, however strange it may be considering he's unarmed beyond his mother's Exsphere. he continues down the halls, in the direction of the elevators and stairs, with no intention of stopping or straying from his path.
meanwhile, the vague nightmares continue on with a vengeance, though Lloyd doesn't make any fitful noises to make it obvious. this images do, however, grow with intensity the closer he gets to the stairwell... ]

Quickening his pace, he reaches out with a hand to grip Lloyd's shoulder if he can manage it.]
Hey, bud... Lloyd! What are you--?

almost as though it were pure instinct, when Lloyd's body feel's Zelos's hand connect with his shoulder, he whips around, fist balled aimed for... well, wherever. whether or not his fist makes contact doesn't quite matter; there's an obstruction preventing him from going where he needs to go and it needs to be out of the way now.
it doesn't help that he always wears his Exsphere even in his sleep. ]
