What: PARTY TIME. Well, a party so Rin can actually make friends since she secretly complains about not having any!

[Cooking for a large amount of people is what Archer was all about. Might as well call him the Chef Heroic Spirit instead of the Blacksmith Heroic Spirit. This guy was a complete pro in the kitchen and completely without complaint!

Tons of food, cake, and nachos and cheese and salsa (don't ask). Serving it was left up to Saber since she was still probably under punishment. Either way, she had to make up for her issues in some way!

So for everyone here, they just had to chill out and wait for Rin to return home. Which should be shortly if she's not trying to be an absolute brat. Which, admittedly, happens sometimes.]

In my world, technology has replaced magic. Things like the CereVice and Cybuddies are outdated, yet they are the kind of things used in my time. Magi, who used to be able to perform magecraft, are now hackers.

Using our bodies which can still create some of the magical power needed to perform tasks that aren't ordinary, we substitute hacking in lieu of magic. It's something like that.

[ At least she's getting better at explaining it. ] It's possible that since I was removed from my world that I have the potential to learn magecraft on my own, but... ah, I don't have a teacher.

I see. So, you manipulate technology to achieve what is usually done by magic? Then, what are these devices powered by?

[ Her last statement may be phrases as some sort of subtle invitation, but he can't take it fully just yet. ] My magic is hereditary, unfortunately. I am not sure if I can teach you, but I can look if someone else might.

[ Sheepish and thoroughly embarrassed, she looks away. ] These devices? Do you mean CereVice and the items here? Probably electricity.

Ah, no. I meant the devices in your homeland. Electricity powers the colony here, yes. It is rather impressive that the grid still manages to hold as of now.

[ Partially sarcasm, partially truth. Remember that time where the whole colony nearly froze? It may be time that he ought to look into that as well. ]

Electricity was used in my own world. There was... a group of individuals who did everything they could to limit technology for their own purposes.

It has failed before. [ He says this after a short pause. ] Though I suppose I should have spoken more clearly. It has not failed completely in supplying power, though it was compromised previously. Heating systems broke down a few weeks back, exposing the whole colony to frost.

[ It was unpleasant, yes. But it also yielded some uprising insights.

Limiting knowledge only stagnates growth, I fear.

It does more than that, but this is no time to talk about it. No one's mentioned this situation to me before... ugh, I'm going to have to do my research.

I have been here for a month or so. The power outage occurred quite some time ago, but there is no knowing when it can happen again.

Geez. Do you think they've installed a backup source of power in the meantime? A generator can go a long way during a crisis.

[ Making a mental note to tell Archer to pick one up. ] I can't believe this place has nothing of that sort available in the first place. Every thing is practically run by electricity.

I doubt it is as simple a matter as lacking a backup generator. There is something else at work here. Perhaps the backup was disabled.

[ It isn't too unlikely, given the situation. ]

Suffices to say that there are some with resentment against the government which may be strong enough to do this.
