What: PARTY TIME. Well, a party so Rin can actually make friends since she secretly complains about not having any!

[Cooking for a large amount of people is what Archer was all about. Might as well call him the Chef Heroic Spirit instead of the Blacksmith Heroic Spirit. This guy was a complete pro in the kitchen and completely without complaint!

Tons of food, cake, and nachos and cheese and salsa (don't ask). Serving it was left up to Saber since she was still probably under punishment. Either way, she had to make up for her issues in some way!

So for everyone here, they just had to chill out and wait for Rin to return home. Which should be shortly if she's not trying to be an absolute brat. Which, admittedly, happens sometimes.]

[Look, a party is no time or place to dumb angsty family history!!]

Oh, yes, I am! [She's probably coming on a little strong... But again, chalk that up to the awkwardness between them. It's genuine though, or as much as it can be when she's at a party with mostly strangers and not all that social to begin with.] It's been very nice. You and Archer did a great job with this party.

[ That's right! Enjoy the music and wait where even is Rin is she hiding? ]

I appreciate the kind words, but it was Archer who had planned and executed this party. I was merely asked to see that others would arrive. [ Saber doesn't always like saying positive things about Archer, but there it is. She's also trying not to notice the awkwardness, but it's pretty difficult. ]

[The elusive Rin might need more to be lured out...]

That's still something. After all, there are plenty of people here for the party. [Effort is effort right, so it totally counts in her book.]

[ Surely they could find some snacks or something to convince her to come out. ]

I suppose you are right... [ Saber actually looks a little happy to be praised. ] Thank you, Sakura. I am glad you could be here.

[ Even if she wasn't the one to invite the other girl, she is happy if Rin will be happy. ]

[Make a trail of nice good and nice guns, and she'll be sure to follow it!!

Oh but wow Saber's actually smiling at something she said... WHAT A MIRACLE. She's glad, and it makes her relax a little.]

You're very welcome, Saber. What about you though? Have you been enjoying yourself so far?

[ It's strange enjoying a party like this without any real pretense, other than trying to get Rin out and about. Saber has no enemy to defeat, no one really to protect her Master from, maybe aside from Sakura herself. It's freeing, feeling a bit like a normal girl for once. ]

Me? [ The suddenly direction toward herself makes Saber a little surprised. ] I am enjoying myself. I have not had a chance to relax like this in a long time.

I'm glad to hear it. It's good to be able to take things easy like this, right?

[Even if big social gatherings like this are still a bit foreign to her... It really is nice though, and that's what matters.]

It is...different. [ Her oath that she swore to protect Rin, and Shirou too, makes her always feel guilty to take it easy as it were. Still, she looks a little happy, that much she can't hide. ]

You came alone? [ Changing the subject a little, she asks that, but whether she's speaking of Shirou or Rider, it's not clear. ]

[nodding] Archer said that the others couldn't come. Since he's the one who threw his party, it didn't seem right to ask if they wanted to go with me.

[In the end, she's alone.... (Or maybe Rider's GOING GHOST and hanging in the bg like she does for half the VN. Probably not though.) She doesn't think Saber would be concerned about Rider, maybe aside from a potential enemy kind of way, but she figures that she might as well mention both of them.]

[ Saber feels bad to hear that...but she does understand Archer's thought process when it comes to Shirou. ]

...Is Shirou well? [ After their little scuffle, Saber has been hesitant to bring him up at all to Sakura, but she has to know. ]

... Yes, he is. [It's hard for Sakura to answer without sounding upset, but she manages. After all, it was an accident in the end, and Shirou held no grudge over it. If he didn't, Sakura didn't have a reason to either.

... But it's hard. Accident or not, apologies or no apologies, Saber really did hurt Shirou. Even knowing logically that it couldn't be helped, keeping things normal in reality is a bit more difficult.

At the very least, knowing why Saber attacked him helps things a little. She thinks about explaining to her just why Shirou is different from what she probably remembers... But again, this isn't the time or place for that.]

I told him to rest for today, but knowing him, he's probably cleaning or cooking to put his body to work anyways. [So she kind of tries to make it a little more normal.]

[ She may not sound upset, but Saber is observant enough to see that maybe asking was the wrong choice. She couldn't help herself from wanting to know how he was, if she couldn't see him herself. He was her Master, someone she bonded with and thought of as more than a friend, but looking at Sakura now, it feels more like there is a wall between the two of them, or at least some distance.

Of course, somehow this is all happening while Saber thinks that Sakura does not know that much about her, perhaps only that she is a Servant? She has no idea what the other girl knows. ]

Shirou is a difficult man to convince to rest. After he had been attacked by Lancer-- [ She stops herself in the middle of that sentence, looking to the ground apologetically. ] I apologize.

[Sakura honestly doesn't know too much about what Shirou experienced during the beginning of the War, but it's easy to make a guess. She'd never asked about it since it wasn't important at the time, and honestly, it was likely he didn't remember it well anymore.]

It's fine, you've nothing to apologize for. [a beat] This may seem out of the blue, but will you be busy for the next few days? There's something I'd like to talk about.

[THIS IS GETTING TO BE A LITTLE TOO MUCH NOW. More than that, Saber not knowing about what happened isn't helping anything at this point. She thinks it's unfair that Shirou asked her to get along with her when she doesn't even know the full story, and can't ask about it either.]

[ I have my part-time employment, and Rin... She starts off with that, thinking how impossible it is for her to have something like free time, but in truth, she does. There are no great battles to prepare for now, no enemies to watch her back for. It's so strange, but eventually she does nod in response to Sakura's question. ]

Yes, I will have time. Is there a reason you cannot speak on it here?

[ If she just wanted to talk, then Saber is not busy now, or at least she thinks that, despite being the help for the party, and needing to make sure drinks are refilled and the like. ]

It's something I'd rather speak about in private. Besides, today is supposed to be for Rin, isn't it? This can wait another time.

[Not to mention, she really has no idea how Saber would take all the information. If things went hostile, the last thing Sakura wants to do is ruin Rin's party due to her poor choice of timing.]

Yes, you are right. Today is Rin's.

[ She nods her head a little, to agree with Sakura. She's still...uneasy about this, and uncertain of where a personal meeting with Sakura will go, but she will not back out. ]

Then I'll contact you another time. For now, let's enjoy this for Rin's sake. [She smiles, but she hardly feels comfortable about this either. It's something she thinks is necessary though, despite everything else. They need to talk.

... But for now, she just wants to enjoy the party for Rin. Or as much as she can, at least.]
