choo choo open log train

Who: Shinjiro ([personal profile] unevoke & open
When: misc. days after event 9
Where: PLACES
What: THINGS
Rating/Warning: shouldn't be anything crazy!

a - mcceres
[By this point, work's become a monotony. It's a way to earn money, and he doesn't bedgrudge it for that purpose, but the forced socialization doesn't suit his tastes and the risk of running into someone he's conversed with - particularly after the events of the previous week - leave him tenser than he usually is.

At least he's an entertaining sight, dressed in his standard uniform of brightly colored apron and hat, sporting one of the flattest looks known to man as he asks:]

What can I get you today?

b - some random thrift store
[Shinji's stay thus far in Cerealia has been unkind to his limited wardrobe. His hat's looking particularly worse for the wear, his pants have small rips in them, and his coat is probably going to disintegrate the moment someone touches it.

Hence, his presence at the local thrift store.

There's not a whole lot on display, most of either not in his size or in atrocious colors and patterns he would never think to wear in public. Like the shirt he pulls out off the rack in sheer disbelief: a lemon yellow, with pink beach balls and blue umbrellas.

Who the hell even thought this was a good idea? And no he's not going to buy it, don't you dare ask.]

c - the cybuddy store
[Out of all the places in Cerealia though, the CYBuddy store is where Shinji's spent the most time of late. His guilt over attempting to sacrifice the things (and in some cases successfully) have led him to return time and again, to offer assistance in the store and give the remaining CYBuddies some proper attention.

It also gives him an excuse not to be social, and to put off thinking about the terrible things he tried to do.

Of course, there's no point in spending time in the CYBuddy store if he's not going to buy anything. There's Mitsuru's CYbuddy to spoil, and since he can't exactly buy gourmet CYBuddy food (does that even exist?) he settles for toys, picking out two and weighing them against each other.

He turns, eyes questioning.]

Hey, you got any idea which of these lasts longer?

[Quality over quantity, yo.]

d - game center
[Shinjiro isn't much for games. Having played only a rare few during his childhood, he'd never developed the fervor for them many of his peers had. That said, the pseudo-game of live action Pac-man he'd played his first day here had been kind of fun. He wanders into the game center one day when it's mostly empty - blame the early hour for that - and spends a good ten minutes just walking down the rows, checking out what there is on offer.

He stops in front of a fighting game and cracks a small smile. Akihiko would probably love this.]

e - choose your own adventure
[ooc: feel free to make your own scenario or pm me for an individualized prompt!]

[Shinji :C It's okay, she's here now. She'll make time for him through all that work and stuff! And maybe get him some casual clothes so he can go hang out with Mitsuru.

Now he has enough time to learn a few games, as hinted by that slight change of expression. She's not an avid gamer like her siblings, but it certainly is a fun way to pass the time.]

That is very generous of them. It's also plenty of time to play some games too, and find one you like? I mean, unless you want to do something else?
hoasen: (A BARGAIN WHERE?)

[Better than her possibly stealing him from this horrible place and making him work with her?! YEAH SURE.

Anyway, he's interested, and she actually didn't have a set plan on what type of games they should play either, so the mention of the arcade helps a lot. Besides, her experience in ViViD is still lacking.]

Yes, the ones in the arcade will do well. Do you know how to get there? [Otherwise she's already pulling out her CereVice to find the map.]

[It's sad, Shinjiro, please use it and make it happy. Think about candy crush too!

She notices how he seems to know where it is, and she nods and moves to follow after him. She's pretty sure it's better to look for it then actually search up a name she doesn't know yet.]

Alright! Ah, hmm. Well, it is for you to try out first, have you given thought on what games you would like to play? I usually lean towards action packed ones. [Shooting games at arcades are probably her forte.]
hoasen: (did I leave the cat in the oven...)

[Shinji did you just compare Vietnam to a protein junkie--oh wait. Guess they're both equally oblivious too. No but seriously!

She nods slowly, since that's what she got out of ViViD too.]
Yes, similar. Just without the virtual immersion. We'll be outside, and sometimes we may use weapons, or it has a story. The ones in the arcade would be quite simple.
hoasen: (hmm?)

[To be cooler than Aki!! Though that is impossible, she'll never get a legion of fans like Aki can.

Yes, just immerse yourself into simplicity, Shinji. Think nothing of anything more difficult. Which is probably why she's thankful that life is at least normal. As normal as it can be.

She quickly shakes her head and waves a hand.]
If only. I have only played a few times with my siblings, so I think I am what they call a "casual gamer"?

[These two thugs definitely don't need fanclubs!

Thanks to his linefacing, she still has yet to master knowing when he's completely hurt or when he's normal. He's mastered this. So his restrainted interest was slightly overlooked, but he still kept focus on her siblings nonetheless. For now, she makes no assumptions about his family.]

Oh no, the opposite, they play too much. Korea in particular plays Starcraft obsessively. Japan is also very talented at games. [Money was certainly not an issue, they were all too wealthy.]

Do you have any siblings...?
hoasen: (NO YOU CANNOT PUT THAT THERE)

[personal profile] hoasen 2015-03-28 12:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[America is sometimes a real name too...why life.

And WOW? SHINJI? She wants to know ABOUT HIS SIBLINGS? Though seeing her face drop at the sound of America's name. It wasn't that she was upset with him, she was just afraid of what America might have done to Shinji. He's a handful...]

Yes...do you know him too?
