But more than that, as someone who's generally finely attuned to Potential Danger And Insanity (though caring about it is another matter entirely), there are some alarm bells going off here. This stranger is perceptive, he has abilities that Kaoru doesn't understand or know the extent of, he's facing down a slightly moronic five-year-old person who clearly isn't as harmless as he seems... He's a big fat Unknown, basically, and those are better off left alone until they're less unknown. The scar is noticed too, of course, but that's filed away as secondary information.
