//event003.EXE Welcome to the CERES! You are now under arrest! Did you think the glitches were over? Boy, were you wrong! Through the last remnants of the digital kerfluffle, the latest batch of recovered code has manifested in CERES' computer systems as the guilty parties. Yes, that's right, all incoming arrivals are now placed on the wanted list, accused of having committed the heinous crime of creating and releasing the gorg0n virus all over Cerealia. These vicious twelve have been working together all along and conspiring against CERES, and it's now up to everyone to figure out if the new arrivals are truly guilty or if they are as innocent and confused as they claim. In the meantime, CERES has dispatched assassination droids to stop the accused and bring them to justice via disembowelment. So while CERES rushes to stop the droids from committing murder, characters are perfectly welcome to a.) soil themselves b.) fight off the droids c.) run while soiling themselves or d.) cry a lot. e.) ask for assistance! "ASSASSINATION MODE: ONLINE OBJECTIVE: ELIMINATE THE ACCUSED TIMEFRAME: 24:00 HOURS JUDICIAL UNIT-00345 DISPATCHED"

//SCENARIOS.EXE PHASE I [ 0001 ] It's a minute passed midnight, and the newest sets of recovered code are being spat out of ViViD and into Cerealia. Before the joyful reunions begin, an announcement starts blaring through everyone's computer screen, TV sets, devices, billboard screens, and so on. The image flashes with twelve names and twelve pictures along with a list of crimes each person has committed. They continue to flash again and again throughout the colony, alerting everyone of these heinous criminals. It's up to anyone if they want to engage them or stay far, far away from these perverts and miscreants. As the arrivals begin to explore, they will see themselves plastered on just about every screen imaginable. PHASE II [ 200 ] It's still dark outside, hardly anyone out and about. It's the perfect time for an assassination attempt because that's when the information is received and processed by Cerealia's judicial system, but this isn't a job for any ordinary donut-eating cop. No, this is far greater than that. They bring out the big guns. Twelve assassination droids, clad in armor and carrying katana, are immediately dispatched and sent to take out each of the accused at any cost. Characters are welcome to do any of the above choices while veterans to Cerealia can assist the arrivals, assist the droids, or just sit back and watch others suffer. It's completely up to you. They can also run into the droids on their search and try to interact with them. PHASE III [ 700 ] Your friendly CEO has finally gotten his ass out of bed, but by then, who knows how many people are left alive? After hearing of the kerfluffle, he decides to issue a cease and desist on the assassination droids, and instead, has his investigation units step in to confirm that the new arrivals are not guilty of any of the crimes and charges listed under their name. They will be pulled aside for painful, painful questioning before being released to explore as they wish. To make up for all the damages and trauma incurred from the near-death attempts, Julius will also be giving the new arrivals a settlement of 20,000 credits each, so go out and party. PHASE IV [ 1200 ] By noon, the incident has been cleared up with little to no blood spilled (hopefully). New arrivals are welcome to explore and enjoy their new living arrangements or possibly lie in bed and just cry some more. Either way, welcome to the magic that is Cerealia. The CEO will announce that the last of the virus has been officially cleaned up and taken care of, and he'll be issuing a video with a public apology for all. BONUS [ whyo'clock ] Among the police droids dispatched, there will be a rehabilitative droid in a dinosaur suit, looking to cure the criminals of their improper behavior and their moral indiscretions through the power of LOVE and HUGS. It was developed after the researchers in CERES did extensive research on other worlds and found that this mystical creature was capable of creating worldwide joy and cheer. It will be chasing those who are on the Wanted List exclusively, but it will not stop at just them. Your character will be accosted and hugged whether they like it or not. [ Remember to apply proper warnings on threads with trigger-y or inappropriate material and do let a mod know if your thread careens off into maiming or canoodling so we can lock the log. ]

[Pitiful on its own is still better than the nonsense that Sousei was participating in just before, so that's just fine with Cynbel. He had his hands over his ears while Sousei breaks the poor thing's legs, but he lowers them once it's over and blinks in surprise.]

[He claps, politely, as if that whole thing was a show put on for his amusement. But he stops after a few seconds, because there's a more serious issue at hand here.

But you may want to run, before they catch you. The oddness of the machines recently is because of some criminal, and breaking them might make you more suspicious!

How am I supposed to get up there? It's not like I can fly or anything, you know. It looks pretty high.

[it's not like she's really ever climbed trees. whenever she was in a tree, it was either from riding her dad's shoulders or someone else carrying up up vines and things. she can hike well enough, but her size doesn't really allow well for a good boost.

but she doesn't really question how he got up there. both his size and his ears make her think he's probably a spirit, or a spyrite — something like that. it reminds elle a bit of muzet, and since muzet can float and fly? she kind of just assumes it's the same thing.]

[ Yang punctuates this by two quick punches, this time firing explosive rounds from the gauntlets. It's enough to knock the drones back, and one hard kick will down one completely, before she's sprinting for Soujirou again.

[ She doesn't mind, although she's pretty sure the reason Elle's looking so depressed has nothing to do with having to swing on her own. ]

[She glances to the side at Ludger, bringing the blade of the scythe behind her and working a lever on the weapon.]

Wasn't planning on it.

[She pulls a trigger on the scythe, causing a small explosion from the barrel of the rifle, launching her forward and with an elegant and lightning fast spin, she had sliced the robot clean in two at the chest.]

[When the robot was knocked to the ground, Ruby had to stop herself short, as she was about to fire a round from Crescent Rose into the robot's face. Still, her face lights up when she sees who it is.]

Sir Integra!

[Ruby quickly closes the distance, lodging the point of the scythe in the robot's back, effectively pinning it to the ground, before running up to Integra. It took all her self control to keep from just hugging the woman, but she did grab Integra's hand and shook it enthusiastically.]

Oh? I don't think I said I was the innocent bystander. But I could have easily been a defenseless civilian. And who knows? There may be more... I doubt these things will stop as long as they think you're a criminal.

[his tone remains light and amused throughout the exchange. it's more like he's just speaking idly than making any manner of accusations. after all, souji doesn't really know or care what his story is; he's almost positive that this is probably just some bullshit anyway. things have been ridiculously screwy with the tech these last couple of weeks...

which of course, is really just more reason for souji to be wary of the super advanced technology in general. but that's neither here nor there; he makes do with circumstances regardless anyway. for now, though? well, he's sheathing his sword now that there aren't any more assassin-droid arms flailing weapons. for once, he's not totally looking for an unprompted fight. he'll draw again if necessary... for now, he just looks both impressed and mildly amused.]

[WOW... SO MANY DECAPITATIONS GOING ON. The droidbots are definitely a lot less messy than the rogue NPCs either way, but Kaoru will flinch and back up regardless, because that is the proper reaction for such a fine, upstanding young lady!!

And this guy might actually be a maniac, so. Keeping distance is probably a good idea just in case... No one who's arrived here has been completely normal yet, okay. What is up with CERES and their penchant for dragging in maniacs and morons and maniac morons, this is a question that needs to be answered immediately.

EITHER WAY Kaoru seems to be taking those words into consideration, though it's equally clear that the ill-formed guard hasn't dropped just yet. Vending machines beware, just in case...]

...The last group of new arrivals also had to deal with a number of hardships. [TO SAY THE LEAST. But hey, they skipped out on being poisoned by alien meat burgers, so that's a point to their court.]

The system here is not very organized, so if you are saying that the announcement is false, I would believe you, sir.

But regardless, nobody was harmed, and that's all that really matters. So he simply sheathes his sword neatly in turn, crossing his arms behind him with perfect posture as he faces Souji. There's still something...very strange about facing an actual samurai in a moment like this, though Sousei supposes that when they're already in the future, people from other times isn't much of a stretch. That...makes sense???

Probably. Still, he takes that acknowledgement of his skills with a slight bow of his head, before focusing on the important things.]

I am not going to run from the consequences of my actions. [Why would he even do that. This is how un-criminal he is.] They have no evidence against me, as I've committed no crime. If that does not matter, then my actions will also not matter.

[Basically if they're set on calling him a criminal even without evidence, they'll call him a criminal no matter what he does, so...yolo.]
