//event003.EXE Welcome to the CERES! You are now under arrest! Did you think the glitches were over? Boy, were you wrong! Through the last remnants of the digital kerfluffle, the latest batch of recovered code has manifested in CERES' computer systems as the guilty parties. Yes, that's right, all incoming arrivals are now placed on the wanted list, accused of having committed the heinous crime of creating and releasing the gorg0n virus all over Cerealia. These vicious twelve have been working together all along and conspiring against CERES, and it's now up to everyone to figure out if the new arrivals are truly guilty or if they are as innocent and confused as they claim. In the meantime, CERES has dispatched assassination droids to stop the accused and bring them to justice via disembowelment. So while CERES rushes to stop the droids from committing murder, characters are perfectly welcome to a.) soil themselves b.) fight off the droids c.) run while soiling themselves or d.) cry a lot. e.) ask for assistance! "ASSASSINATION MODE: ONLINE OBJECTIVE: ELIMINATE THE ACCUSED TIMEFRAME: 24:00 HOURS JUDICIAL UNIT-00345 DISPATCHED"

//SCENARIOS.EXE PHASE I [ 0001 ] It's a minute passed midnight, and the newest sets of recovered code are being spat out of ViViD and into Cerealia. Before the joyful reunions begin, an announcement starts blaring through everyone's computer screen, TV sets, devices, billboard screens, and so on. The image flashes with twelve names and twelve pictures along with a list of crimes each person has committed. They continue to flash again and again throughout the colony, alerting everyone of these heinous criminals. It's up to anyone if they want to engage them or stay far, far away from these perverts and miscreants. As the arrivals begin to explore, they will see themselves plastered on just about every screen imaginable. PHASE II [ 200 ] It's still dark outside, hardly anyone out and about. It's the perfect time for an assassination attempt because that's when the information is received and processed by Cerealia's judicial system, but this isn't a job for any ordinary donut-eating cop. No, this is far greater than that. They bring out the big guns. Twelve assassination droids, clad in armor and carrying katana, are immediately dispatched and sent to take out each of the accused at any cost. Characters are welcome to do any of the above choices while veterans to Cerealia can assist the arrivals, assist the droids, or just sit back and watch others suffer. It's completely up to you. They can also run into the droids on their search and try to interact with them. PHASE III [ 700 ] Your friendly CEO has finally gotten his ass out of bed, but by then, who knows how many people are left alive? After hearing of the kerfluffle, he decides to issue a cease and desist on the assassination droids, and instead, has his investigation units step in to confirm that the new arrivals are not guilty of any of the crimes and charges listed under their name. They will be pulled aside for painful, painful questioning before being released to explore as they wish. To make up for all the damages and trauma incurred from the near-death attempts, Julius will also be giving the new arrivals a settlement of 20,000 credits each, so go out and party. PHASE IV [ 1200 ] By noon, the incident has been cleared up with little to no blood spilled (hopefully). New arrivals are welcome to explore and enjoy their new living arrangements or possibly lie in bed and just cry some more. Either way, welcome to the magic that is Cerealia. The CEO will announce that the last of the virus has been officially cleaned up and taken care of, and he'll be issuing a video with a public apology for all. BONUS [ whyo'clock ] Among the police droids dispatched, there will be a rehabilitative droid in a dinosaur suit, looking to cure the criminals of their improper behavior and their moral indiscretions through the power of LOVE and HUGS. It was developed after the researchers in CERES did extensive research on other worlds and found that this mystical creature was capable of creating worldwide joy and cheer. It will be chasing those who are on the Wanted List exclusively, but it will not stop at just them. Your character will be accosted and hugged whether they like it or not. [ Remember to apply proper warnings on threads with trigger-y or inappropriate material and do let a mod know if your thread careens off into maiming or canoodling so we can lock the log. ]

[ Never mind if she's the difficult type or not. His best friend and partner is a bit of the difficult type, so it's nothing he's not sued to.

For a few moments, he's silent. He might be a pusher at times (a lot of times) but maybe he shouldn't push a child right from the start. It'd probably be weird. Not that he's not weird. ]

Y'sure? [ But then to the question. ] But I ain't got a clue. Most people seem like they're decent fellows, though.

[ Nah, not really, she just likes rubbing salt in the wound, is all. Not that it's poor Rin's fault in the least, mind you. She can't help but look amused though at his words, she blinks and glances at her bag before shaking her head and motioning to him. ]

I don't know how much of a prank it is- I've been here two months and it's all been pretty real. So was the place before it.

[ But either way- she opens up her bag and hands him one of her long-sleeved scrubs coat, frowning a bit. It's lengthier on her but the guy is tall, not to mention muscled... she pauses. ]

I'm not sure that'll be long enough but it's for someone with bigger shoulders than me anyway. You can wear that until we get to a store. Come on.

[ She motions him over and points to one of the brightly lit streets- the market area is still pretty active, even if it's some of the shadier places open, but she's sure she's seen a few stores open still. ]

Where'd you drop in from? And what the heck is going on with your teeth? You're not one of those vampire weirdos that files them, are you?

[ He's heard sighs like that before, and they've never bothered him yet, so they won't bother him now. ]

That so? Then I guess I'm fine with being irresponsible. Being responsible is such a pain.

I'm not part of the justice system here, and I don't want to go out of my way to do something so bothersome. Besides, it's more entertaining to see you people go loose on the bots.

[Edgeworth glances to his side and notices the other guy join the fray. He does his part and blocks another slash of the katana with his own sword with a determined frown.]

"Unfortunate" is an understatement! [Yeah uh he doesn't take being falsely accused of any crime very well.]

[prosecutory]

[Edgeworth gasps at the sudden blur - was this some sort of fire bomb, or a shooting star? - and hurriedly steps away. The blur turns out to be a girl who basically beats that robot down. A young girl.

Children have beaten him back in Death City. Children are given dangerous powers like he was. This is no longer surprising to him. Still, it was quite unexpected...and so was being called an old man. Edgeworth was supposed to thank her properly but that happened.

He splutters.]

Wh - what - I'm not old!

Where was the reason for getting involved in the first place? Magic is an incredibly interesting thing though, even if he didn't believe in it before. Now, he's not sure what to believe in or not but he'd have to go through that thought process some other day, because there was a lot to think about. Technology and magic and different worlds. It was weird but he just had to roll with it.

He puts his hands at the back of his head, stretching lazily. Normal work really is taxing in a completely different way than robbing banks and trains were. Not the same or as much of a pain as rustling, though. Rustling was a pain in the ass, and he wasn't very good at it these days. He had never been good at stealing horses.

He inclines his head by way of a reply, and his Persona drifts ever so slightly closer to him.

"Ah, it is magic, of course." Any strategist would have an ace up his sleeve, and he isn't about to reveal all of his secrets. "Some simple spells and the like."

If the youth pressed for more details, he could give them - but not too much. The Evoker would be hard to explain, too.

"'course." He only wished it was as simple as that, but to people that were used to it, it probably was. He watches the persona curiously, knowing that of course he's not likely to get the whole story. He hides his entire identity, and only one person knows his name. At least that's what he hopes, but he can't be sure with the people who 'saved' them. If they knew his main alias or if they only knew his real name or any of his other names. "I take't ya're much more used to that thought than I am."

How did it come to fight you? Did it sneak up on you?

[That's interesting. Well, at least they were consistent, if the information turned out to be truthful. Honestly, Edgeworth was hoping for that, because he just helped end a war and then suddenly that world was doomed anyway?

He's not a reporter, but he rather acts like one, with how he gathers up info.

Edgeworth does not recognize the other man at all (then again, he was in no shape to memorize the faces being flashed all over the place), and he sounded certain about how everyone got it so:]

[He puts his organizer back into his pocket and folds his arms, looking rather thoughtful.]

[He probably is wasting more time trying to avoid it, but after almost getting stabbed by another robot, why would he trust this one just because it's wearing a costume? His hand immediately settles onto the hilt of his sword when she steps closer (not because he doesn't trust her, but because if the droid decides to go through with hugging and then stabbing, he wants to be prepared to save her).

And... it does at least try to hug her.

That...looks like a tight grip. And it's not letting go. Is this supposed to make him feel bad for not letting it hug him? Because he's really not.]

[That similarity certainly isn't helped by the fact that they share the same voice actor, the same tone and the same calm approach to everything. Nope, definitely not.

... That said, at least he's not looking too closely at the moment, though Kaoru might be in trouble if he does.]

I'm not concerned for myself. [A glance to Kaoru, and he considers the expression and that oh so disarming tone. Hm.] You don't need to be either. [He doesn't really...know why anyone would be concerned for him after watching him just murder an assassinbot, but y'know.]

There are others, however, who may not be able to defend themselves. [In which case, this is a huge fuck up.]

He was more than willing to let Naoi walk away after all of that information. There wasn't any reason to prolong the conversation, after all, and trying to would be a waste of time--
