Welcome to the CERES! You are now under arrest!

Did you think the glitches were over? Boy, were you wrong! Through the last remnants of the digital kerfluffle, the latest batch of recovered code has manifested in CERES' computer systems as the guilty parties. Yes, that's right, all incoming arrivals are now placed on the wanted list, accused of having committed the heinous crime of creating and releasing the gorg0n virus all over Cerealia. These vicious twelve have been working together all along and conspiring against CERES, and it's now up to everyone to figure out if the new arrivals are truly guilty or if they are as innocent and confused as they claim.

In the meantime, CERES has dispatched assassination droids to stop the accused and bring them to justice via disembowelment. So while CERES rushes to stop the droids from committing murder, characters are perfectly welcome to a.) soil themselves b.) fight off the droids c.) run while soiling themselves or d.) cry a lot. e.) ask for assistance!

"ASSASSINATION MODE: ONLINE
OBJECTIVE: ELIMINATE THE ACCUSED
TIMEFRAME: 24:00 HOURS

JUDICIAL UNIT-00345 DISPATCHED"

//SCENARIOS.EXE
PHASE I
[ 00:01 ] It's a minute passed midnight, and the newest sets of recovered code are being spat out of ViViD and into Cerealia. Before the joyful reunions begin, an announcement starts blaring through everyone's computer screen, TV sets, devices, billboard screens, and so on. The image flashes with twelve names and twelve pictures along with a list of crimes each person has committed. They continue to flash again and again throughout the colony, alerting everyone of these heinous criminals. It's up to anyone if they want to engage them or stay far, far away from these perverts and miscreants.

As the arrivals begin to explore, they will see themselves plastered on just about every screen imaginable.
PHASE II
[ 2:00 ] It's still dark outside, hardly anyone out and about. It's the perfect time for an assassination attempt because that's when the information is received and processed by Cerealia's judicial system, but this isn't a job for any ordinary donut-eating cop. No, this is far greater than that. They bring out the big guns.

Twelve assassination droids, clad in armor and carrying katana, are immediately dispatched and sent to take out each of the accused at any cost. Characters are welcome to do any of the above choices while veterans to Cerealia can assist the arrivals, assist the droids, or just sit back and watch others suffer. It's completely up to you. They can also run into the droids on their search and try to interact with them.
PHASE III
[ 7:00 ] Your friendly CEO has finally gotten his ass out of bed, but by then, who knows how many people are left alive? After hearing of the kerfluffle, he decides to issue a cease and desist on the assassination droids, and instead, has his investigation units step in to confirm that the new arrivals are not guilty of any of the crimes and charges listed under their name. They will be pulled aside for painful, painful questioning before being released to explore as they wish.

To make up for all the damages and trauma incurred from the near-death attempts, Julius will also be giving the new arrivals a settlement of 20,000 credits each, so go out and party.
PHASE IV
[ 12:00 ] By noon, the incident has been cleared up with little to no blood spilled (hopefully). New arrivals are welcome to explore and enjoy their new living arrangements or possibly lie in bed and just cry some more. Either way, welcome to the magic that is Cerealia. The CEO will announce that the last of the virus has been officially cleaned up and taken care of, and he'll be issuing a video with a public apology for all.

BONUS
[ why:o'clock ] Among the police droids dispatched, there will be a rehabilitative droid in a dinosaur suit, looking to cure the criminals of their improper behavior and their moral indiscretions through the power of LOVE and HUGS. It was developed after the researchers in CERES did extensive research on other worlds and found that this mystical creature was capable of creating worldwide joy and cheer. It will be chasing those who are on the Wanted List exclusively, but it will not stop at just them. Your character will be accosted and hugged whether they like it or not.
[ Remember to apply proper warnings on threads with trigger-y or inappropriate material and do let a mod know if your thread careens off into maiming or canoodling so we can lock the log. ]

//RUN.EXE
Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post. For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing everyone's arrival experience and a FAQ that should explain everything in more detail. Please read them thoroughly before playing. Thank you!

[Just... whatever you do, please don't mention the whole tussle/truffle/Brussels kerfuffle to anyone.]

Just... don't tell anyone I blew up on the first day of school...
flaredo: (Annie are you okay--)

A little, and I don't know how much of it I'm supposed to believe, honestly.

[personal profile] unluckless 2014-10-20 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
That is the really problematic part. [Wait.] One of the really problematic parts anyway. There's no way to really know if a story like that is true. It sounds hard to believe, doesn't it? And a little convenient, considering they want our help.

[Yup Komaeda has his suspicions.]

That makes it easier... so let's look for something moving down there in a rush.

Well...

[He pauses, tapping his chin with one finger as he thinks this over. Should he dissuade Mr. Straightlaced, or not? Is it worth it?]

So long as you don't get caught, I won't say anything about it. They don't deserve any help keeping their machines intact, when they can't even control them properly.

[So, he's kind of agreeing to be an accessory in Sousei's crime. Whether this is a good or a bad idea remains to be seen, but there's no love lost between himself and the robots.]

[Oh, he's being believed-- but, then, who would lie about a farfetched thing, right? Maybe Enoshima. But other than that, no normal person would, unless they were an enormous tool trying to raise up someone's hopes...]

I'm... yeah, I'm not sure how it happens either, but...

[It's a thing!] Would there be someone you're looking for?

< PHASE III. >

[ Placing his faith in inordinately skeevy institutions had never done him any good (whether dukedoms or inter-dimensional governing bodies, they were all chips off the same block).

Couple that with a side order of culture shock and a PowerPoint overload of pedantic technobabble that he barely understood (much less had the tactile cognition to even remotely come to grips with), and it came as no shocker that he was waffling between pinching his arm hard enough to draw blood and walking into the wall several times in succession to induce sanity. Coming to the realization that he had an assassin bounty on his head the minute he stepped into the city was, quite frankly, just par for the course.

Truth be told, the interrogation hadn't gone well either, but it was marginally better alternative to be cross-examined at blade-point than repeatedly punctured through with more holes than Swiss cheese. The monetary compensation was fake probably, so he'd spent a large duration of his release aimlessly wandering around, pressing his palms against vending machines and kitschy shop windows and suspiciously eying his CereVice and zooming vehicles with the same level of unbridled wariness. ]

... Was I just bribed? I don't see how this[ CUE A SCANDALIZED GLARE AT THE DEBIT CARD IN HIS HAND ] — equals money, much less the amount they were attempting to convince me it was worth.

I'm not that gullible.

< BONUS! >

[ The fact that his entrance into the world just so happened to coincide with some bizarre virus was just another strange, brain-melting aspect of his reality, much like the fact that anthropomorphic droids wielding katanas were zealously hunting him down for crimes he hadn't even committed. Perhaps out of some ingrown homicidal fascination to skewer his torso, or maybe just arrest him — Elliot hadn't stuck around to find out.

Of course, he hadn't expected that several hours later he'd be ensnared by one of their brethren — specifically a gigantic dino with the horrifying, positively blood-curdling instinct to hug the ever-loving shit out of him.

Traumatized was putting it lightly.

Elliot was dead-set on stabbing it in the eyes with the serrated edge of his rapier (with its vision obscured, he'd feasibly be capable of kicking it in the shins and fleeing the scene), but as it stood he was currently suffocating to death. ]

GET — OFFOFME!

[If he knew what she was thinking, he'd be inclined to let the topic drop. He's used to that feeling and wouldn't wish it on anyone else, after all.

But since he doesn't, he just shrugs and keeps on going, picking little by little at her reasoning. He's got a stance to defend, and he won't let it be wounded that easily.
]

Doing it that way means you can only see it for a few moments at a time!

[He looks around them quickly, one hand over his eyes to shade them.]

Besides, you'd need a swing to do it in the first place, and I don't see any nearby.

[ While seeing that blasted anthropomorphic dinosaur is enough incentive to have him brandishing his sword, all too-ready to slice and dice that droid to pieces, catching sight of the woman wearing its skin (apparently) is enough for him to drop his sword and presumably the rest of his disbelief. When he recovers from flat-out gaping, when he finally works up the urge to speak, his voice considerably stilted. ]

[They are here for the sole reason of making Kaoru's life hard. Honestly, if Sousei wasn't so distracted by the information influx that comes of just...arriving here... he'd be a little suspicious about just how demure this apparent genteel Japanese lady is. In a situation like this, of all times...

But he's far too distracted to notice at the moment, so Kaoru is safe.]

It would appear so. [That the technology is dangerous, that is. He doesn't really need a reminder to be wary, but he'll take it in the spirit he's (dangerously assuming) it's offered--as something helpful.] I will keep it in mind.

[But before he goes to save small children from assassinbots...]

I am Abe no Sousei. [...] Though that was clear already. [From the screens. Still, he's polite enough to introduce himself.]

[ Well, after narrowly avoiding being impaled to death in a manner not unlike poking a pin cushion punctured full of stab wounds and left to deflate, Elliot's way too wary of the entire scheme of things — even after the droid recall and publicly-announced apology, he still has his rapier unsheathed and at-the-ready.

It's not as bewildering to see a guy in a cravat as it is to see a dude in a suit the color of a overripe pomegranate, honestly. Elliot's just planning to meander by for a closer look, but upon being accosted, he pauses mid-step, some degree of doubt briefly flitting over his features. Regardless — ]

[It's hard to say that this is even raising his hopes, by the way he hesitates. And then...he nods towards the screen, as Tenka's face flashes over it.]

...Kumou Tenka is...familiar to me.

[But it can probably be derived from the previous question that Sousei very much thinks he should probably be dead.]

With about as much respect as I'd give a total stranger, sir, you're not any of my professors or my boss. I'll help you, but what reason would I have to obey?
deontology: (VII.)

[personal profile] deontology 2014-10-20 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
[You probably...shouldn't......but of anyone, agreeing to be accessory to Sousei's crimes of all people is probably pretty safe and tame.

Probably.

But in response, Sousei simply inclines his head, understanding.]

Very well. ...It is appreciated. [Just that he's not going to go blabbing and trying to get more trouble happening, since other people have been Problems.

He still has to go help other people, but he can at least pause for this.]

...My name is Abe no Sousei. [Nice to meet you, not-as-troublesome-as-you-could-have-been.]
deontology: (XV.)

[personal profile] deontology 2014-10-20 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
[Sousei could disable it. He was trying for a solution other than that, but...

... ... ...]

A reason that is false is worse than no reason at all.

[That just means they're...liars....and they can't trust them at all. But, getting tired of holding this robot out, Sousei steps to one side quite suddenly, removing the pressure that was holding it in place. Its momentum carries to forward, and then Sousei is pulling his sheathed sword out, slamming it to the ground with the sheath still in place.

... Mmhm.

He idly watches it slowly get back up, almost fascinated.]
deontology: (XI.)

[personal profile] deontology 2014-10-20 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
You aren't obligated to obey me in any other instance.

[But--]

However, I don't feel inclined to battle with someone I do not know and cannot trust.

[He's...a buzzkill. And he trusts the Yamainu to listen to him when need-be (just as he'd listen to them), and he trusts Tenka to listen to him as well (and again, he would return the favor), but this...this isn't an ideal situation.

Orders have to be obeyed in battle, regardless of the source, so long as its a trustworthy one.]

And yet it happens all of the time, for even less reasons.

[She thinks on it for a moment, though the conclusion she comes up with is she definitely doesn't want him to get hurt but at the same time she doesn't want to broadcast herself as having abilities other than human. Maybe she could put a little strength into it and pry herself loose but at the same time she now had a captive audience.]

U-uhm... if you could I'd really appreciate it. I'm sorry to ask!!
flaredo: (Did you MEAN to land on your head?)

[personal profile] flaredo 2014-10-20 04:17 am (UTC)(link)

flaredo: (They'll be at this for hours)

[personal profile] flaredo 2014-10-20 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you won't let yourself get killed and I won't, either. That's a good start.

[personal profile] solarbeam 2014-10-20 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Ha. Something like that.

[ Kara pauses, then smiles. ]

So, if you're really a bra wire toting criminal, fess up now and I'll go easy on you.

[personal profile] unluckless 2014-10-20 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Is it? At least they're following the logic they've been programmed with!

[Is that comforting? That's probably not comforting. Komaeda watches as this guy sets the robot to tumbling with its own momentum. Huh. Not bad at all. He steps closer, his crowbar held in his hand like that's going to totally help.]

So you're definitely saying they're false then, all those accusations? No shred of truth in them at all?
unluckless: (pic#8253508)

[personal profile] unluckless 2014-10-20 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
I'll do my best. But someone like me... I'm afraid I'm mostly not useful in these sorts of situations.

[That's reassuring. But he's heading closer, seeing about getting a grip on the droid's arm; this is complicated by the fact that he only has one hand. But he's making the most of it.]

All right, I'll pull! [This is a losing battle. But maybe he'll get lucky.]
