![]() Did you think the glitches were over? Boy, were you wrong! Through the last remnants of the digital kerfluffle, the latest batch of recovered code has manifested in CERES' computer systems as the guilty parties. Yes, that's right, all incoming arrivals are now placed on the wanted list, accused of having committed the heinous crime of creating and releasing the gorg0n virus all over Cerealia. These vicious twelve have been working together all along and conspiring against CERES, and it's now up to everyone to figure out if the new arrivals are truly guilty or if they are as innocent and confused as they claim. In the meantime, CERES has dispatched assassination droids to stop the accused and bring them to justice via disembowelment. So while CERES rushes to stop the droids from committing murder, characters are perfectly welcome to a.) soil themselves b.) fight off the droids c.) run while soiling themselves or d.) cry a lot. e.) ask for assistance!

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post. For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing everyone's arrival experience and a FAQ that should explain everything in more detail. Please read them thoroughly before playing. Thank you! |

[She grabs for Rin's hand so he won't totally miss the sudden sharp turn she takes, zigzagging through alleys seemingly at random before she slows after a minute. She pulls at him to follow her through the doors and up the elevators, hardly sparing him a glance or a word until she's fairly sure it's safe.]
Lost for now, maybe. Tch... Putting neck on line for a stupid human-- [Grumble grumble.] Apartment down here. Can hide for little bit, but then leave. Do not want to be responsible for you.
[After a moment Oona continues, a tad embarrassed in her attempt to be reassuring] Eh, sure will get cleared up. Virus here before you arrive, so, can not blame you. Will be alright. Will correct their stupidity.

...This is your home?
[ His voice is slow and unsure as he walks further inside, looking around. It's fairly normal-ish, all things considered. Equally hi-tech as what's outside but nothing too crazy.
The rest of her words bring him pause as he shakes himself out of his stupor. ]
You're telling me all this is happening because of a virus? I'm being hunted because of a computer error?! Who's the one who's fixing this? Why aren't they fixing it fast enough??
[ Preferably before he loses a limb. That's not a thing he wants to happen. ]

There's a rippling effect that makes it look like they're under water and Oona stretches her arms casually above her head before she starts answering. She speaks slower than before, deliberate, as she tries to make sure she's making sense.] Do not have all answers, but, hmm... Seems there is mistake. Robots believe you and others are criminals, that you brought virus here. But virus was here before you arrived.
Julius-- man in charge--will fix when he wakes. Maybe. [Oona shrugs] But, might be a bit of time before he wakes and can fix it. Should lay low until then.

This is really where you live... I've never seen anything like it before. I nearly thought the walls were made of water.
[ His hands keep touching along the surface before realizing he's in someone else's home and just groping around their furniture like a lunatic. He instantly withdraws both hands and stuffs them in his pockets before glancing away and casually trying to pretend he wasn't doing anything weird just now. ]
Hm... a virus, huh? Never seen a computer virus that convicted me and sent robots after me. Something tells me it's more than just a tiny virus.
[ Someone has to have gone out of their way to try and deliberately mess with them, and it bugs him to no end. Just who is targeting him and why? ]
How do I get a hold of this Julius guy?

[She grins at him like she's laughing at some inside joke he's not in on.] But, human is here, and humans cannot see in darkness as well as me. Turned up lights so you could see.
[As if that wasn't weirdly vague bullshit or anything, she flops down onto the couch and kicks her flipflops off.] Everything connected to computers here. Very... [Oona trails off, hesitating as she struggles to find the right word. After a moment she makes a noise of frustration and changes her mind] Is not ideal.
Could try calling, but might not answer. Probably sleeping. [It was pretty early in the morning.]

Either way, if everything is connected to computers, he can already see the big flaw in this colony's design. It wouldn't be terribly difficult for someone to mess things up at a catastrophic level if they have enough hacking skills.
He shakes his head after a moment, still attempting to understand all of this. ]
So you're telling me you're some kind of fish or something, then? Where are your scales? Better yet, how are you able to survive outside of water?
[ He's never or heard of fish who can walk, so the whole thing sounds 'fishy' to him for lack of a better word.
The rest of her words reignite his earlier annoyance, fists clenching by his sides. ]
And how the hell's he sleeping through all of this? The people he went through all the trouble of bringing are under threat, and no one's bothered to get the guy out of bed?!
no subject
The scale question though... She looks down at her legs and rubs at them with a frown.] Tail taken. Can take it off, and did. Humans take it. Greedy. [Oona shakes her head and shrugs.] Took me from home, kept in tank. Took tail from me, so now am stuck in human form.
[As for the rest of the questions, she shifts and leans against the back of the couch, cheek resting on her fist] Do not know. Might be only human in charge. Maybe no one is there to wake him.
no subject
How- how did they take it off?? They didn't just cut it off of you, did they? You'd be scarred up and without legs if that happened.
[ Is there technology so powerful that they can change her fins into legs?! How does that even happen?! He can't fathom it at all. ]
You sure you were part fish before? How do I know you're not lying about that?
[ Because it's easier to think she's crazy than believe she can be transformed spontaneously like that. ]
no subject
[She sits back again with a huff and narrows her eyes.] Old magic. Sisters and brothers up north in other seas use it, remove tails and walk among humans. Tried it to escape, turned tail into scale, small, to carry. But they take.
But, mermaids do not lie. Am not lying, and never will. As for proof...Could find pool or ocean. Am stronger swimmer than humans, better. [She boasts this proudly] And still have my, eh... lure? Even in human form. [She didn't really know what to call the bioluminescent bulb she used in her mermaid form to attract fish in.]
no subject
It takes him a moment to realize she didn't remove her top all the way, so she's still partially covered, but he still doesn't want to completely look, only managing to glance at the scarring present before motioning to her to fix her shirt. ]
Okay, okay. I get it! Cover yourself up!!
[ He's not sure if he entirely believes her explanation still, but he doesn't want her to strip completely to prove anything. This would go from awkward to creepy a little too fast for him to handle if she does. He also doesn't really want to know what she means by 'lure.' That could be a ton of things. A ton of awkward things. ]
I'll buy it for now... Maybe you can show me later. Are there even pools or large bodies of water in this place?
[ He sure as hell hasn't seen any, but that would provide some measure of comfort in this place. It's something familiar to him as opposed to everything he's encountering here, especially the other people he happens to be trapped with. ]
