Welcome to the CERES! You are now under arrest!

Did you think the glitches were over? Boy, were you wrong! Through the last remnants of the digital kerfluffle, the latest batch of recovered code has manifested in CERES' computer systems as the guilty parties. Yes, that's right, all incoming arrivals are now placed on the wanted list, accused of having committed the heinous crime of creating and releasing the gorg0n virus all over Cerealia. These vicious twelve have been working together all along and conspiring against CERES, and it's now up to everyone to figure out if the new arrivals are truly guilty or if they are as innocent and confused as they claim.

In the meantime, CERES has dispatched assassination droids to stop the accused and bring them to justice via disembowelment. So while CERES rushes to stop the droids from committing murder, characters are perfectly welcome to a.) soil themselves b.) fight off the droids c.) run while soiling themselves or d.) cry a lot. e.) ask for assistance!

"ASSASSINATION MODE: ONLINE
OBJECTIVE: ELIMINATE THE ACCUSED
TIMEFRAME: 24:00 HOURS

JUDICIAL UNIT-00345 DISPATCHED"

//SCENARIOS.EXE
PHASE I
[ 00:01 ] It's a minute passed midnight, and the newest sets of recovered code are being spat out of ViViD and into Cerealia. Before the joyful reunions begin, an announcement starts blaring through everyone's computer screen, TV sets, devices, billboard screens, and so on. The image flashes with twelve names and twelve pictures along with a list of crimes each person has committed. They continue to flash again and again throughout the colony, alerting everyone of these heinous criminals. It's up to anyone if they want to engage them or stay far, far away from these perverts and miscreants.

As the arrivals begin to explore, they will see themselves plastered on just about every screen imaginable.
PHASE II
[ 2:00 ] It's still dark outside, hardly anyone out and about. It's the perfect time for an assassination attempt because that's when the information is received and processed by Cerealia's judicial system, but this isn't a job for any ordinary donut-eating cop. No, this is far greater than that. They bring out the big guns.

Twelve assassination droids, clad in armor and carrying katana, are immediately dispatched and sent to take out each of the accused at any cost. Characters are welcome to do any of the above choices while veterans to Cerealia can assist the arrivals, assist the droids, or just sit back and watch others suffer. It's completely up to you. They can also run into the droids on their search and try to interact with them.
PHASE III
[ 7:00 ] Your friendly CEO has finally gotten his ass out of bed, but by then, who knows how many people are left alive? After hearing of the kerfluffle, he decides to issue a cease and desist on the assassination droids, and instead, has his investigation units step in to confirm that the new arrivals are not guilty of any of the crimes and charges listed under their name. They will be pulled aside for painful, painful questioning before being released to explore as they wish.

To make up for all the damages and trauma incurred from the near-death attempts, Julius will also be giving the new arrivals a settlement of 20,000 credits each, so go out and party.
PHASE IV
[ 12:00 ] By noon, the incident has been cleared up with little to no blood spilled (hopefully). New arrivals are welcome to explore and enjoy their new living arrangements or possibly lie in bed and just cry some more. Either way, welcome to the magic that is Cerealia. The CEO will announce that the last of the virus has been officially cleaned up and taken care of, and he'll be issuing a video with a public apology for all.

BONUS
[ why:o'clock ] Among the police droids dispatched, there will be a rehabilitative droid in a dinosaur suit, looking to cure the criminals of their improper behavior and their moral indiscretions through the power of LOVE and HUGS. It was developed after the researchers in CERES did extensive research on other worlds and found that this mystical creature was capable of creating worldwide joy and cheer. It will be chasing those who are on the Wanted List exclusively, but it will not stop at just them. Your character will be accosted and hugged whether they like it or not.
[ Remember to apply proper warnings on threads with trigger-y or inappropriate material and do let a mod know if your thread careens off into maiming or canoodling so we can lock the log. ]

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post. For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing everyone's arrival experience and a FAQ that should explain everything in more detail. Please read them thoroughly before playing. Thank you!

[ANIKI. It's a good thing Kaoru has ample practice in keeping reactions internal, because this is basically the face that would be happening otherwise. Instead, Tenka just gets a polite smile.]

Tenka, then... My name is Nagumo Kaoru. [Accompanied with a shallow bow, since formality is Important.] Though I wish the circumstances weren't so poor, it's still a pleasure to meet you. [At least the smile that follows is a little more friendly-looking!

The explanation of Shiga is met with a look of understanding, though, since luckily it's not like they decided to rename the lake.]
Ah... Omi Province? I've been there before; it's not terribly far from my home. It's very- [WET] -...cozy. I must admit that I was never able to stay for long, though.

[And then there's rather sunny-looking smile, which is a clear indication that Kaoru seems to agree. Working together is caring or something, right??]

I'm very glad that you share the same sentiment. Adjusting to life here can be very difficult, so needless arguments or misunderstandings are better off avoided, I believe. [...] But if you're curious... Have you passed any clothing stores in the shopping district yet? The faceless things modeling clothing in the windows are mannequins.
sunshrouded: (☀ i simply find it astounding)

Er- oh! [SUDDENLY HE'S BOWING TOO, because that didn't even... occur to him.... is this guy really the head of a family are we completely sure, someone please factcheck that] No, the pleasure's all mine, Kaoru-chan!

[friendly.

anyway, the recognition does get him to blink a little bit. Yeah, it's Omi Province but... completely renamed... so he's just tilting his head in response.]
Ah, that's the one. Though I guess it's been... renamed a bit since. [ . . . Though he shakes that off before smiling brightly in return.] Where are you from exactly, Kaoru-chan?

{maybe that'll answer his questions a bit better. he just doesn't want to be so direct as to 'when are you from' because that sounds like a very weird question, doesn't it?]

So I was... messing around with those faceless things? [and honestly his face just twists into one of disgust-] That's just gross. They couldn't come up with better fake crimes?

[So many overly-friendly lame duck family heads, good lord!! Kaoru's mouth is quickly hidden behind a sleeve, but it's clear that there is some laughter happening right now...

At least it's brief, since the question is distracting. Kaoru's been wandering around in jamjar land long enough to understand that "when" and "where" sometimes mean the same thing.]

I come from Tosa, Tenka-san. [LESS FRIENDLY than Tenka's familiar form of address, but still accompanied by a certain amount of warmth.] Though I suppose that it may also have a different name where you're from...? [Which is said with a questioning lilt and an inquisitive tilt of the head. Kaoru seems to be taking the possibility well, at least.

And then it's Round 2 of pretending not to laugh as Kaoru observes Tenka's reaction...]

It seems that all of the crimes your group has been accused of are just as nonsensical. Yours is particularly crass, but no one will believe such things.
sunshrouded: (☀ thank you for holding my vodka)

[personal profile] sunshrouded 2014-11-11 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
[Ah, he's being laughed at... Though honestly he doesn't seem to take issue with it at all. Instead he just gives Kaoru a grin in return. It's okay. He prefers laughter over dumb serious talks anyway.

Though at the question, Tenka blinks and tilts his head. Hmm. Tosa from the time that Shiga was previously Omi-]
I think that's Kochi these days! [If his studies have taught him well and they probably have.] I haven't gotten the chance to go over there myself but I'd definitely like to. Not much of a chance to travel besides when I'm called to boring parties and all that.

[Stuff he lacks interest in- but well, Kaoru can try not to laugh but now Tenka definitely is.]

Ha! Well, if people can have a laugh over my crass crime and it doesn't hurt my reputation that much, then I figure it's not too bad.
souredsweet: jackandtink (you've got some tuberculosis on you)

[personal profile] souredsweet 2014-11-11 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
[At least this guy is mild-tempered! That's a plus in Kaoru's book. The laughter will be wrangled back into check eventually, though a smile of gentle amusement still lingers.]

Kochi? My... What an ambitious-sounding name. [Kaoru prefers Tosa, but at least realizes that it's probably just a preference of longevity. Being stuck with one name for 20+ years makes it difficult to accept a change!]

I would suggest that you visit when you get the chance, if things are still the same in your time as they are in mine. It's a very pleasant area... You can go boating or fishing or swimming in the sea, and the beaches are all enjoyable. [There is also a distinct lack of boring parties to attend!! Win-win.]

Tenka-san has a very agreeable way of viewing things, it seems... But I do hope for your sake that this will be the only incident of this nature that you will need to face.
sunshrouded: (☀ wow only a terminal illness that's gre)

[personal profile] sunshrouded 2014-11-11 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
[Tenka admittedly can't help but chuckle because yes, he imagines that the change does seem rather ambitious. Kochi prefecture is a place he hasn't gotten to visit but... hearing Kaoru talk about it actually gets him to relax a bit. There's a lot to think about in this weird world - his hometown is gone? No, he refuses to believe that - but hearing people talk about where they came from is reassuring.]

Hah, that sounds a lot better than what we've got in Lake Biwa. Not much boating happening there besides the ferry. I imagine the skies over Tosa are pretty clear a lot of the year? [Seeing as he can't quite remember the last time he got to see a clear sky.

Though he honestly just shrugs.]

It bothers me less than it's bound to bother other people, I figure. But hopefully it's a mistake that won't happen again regardless. I hope you've managed to avoid such accidents so far, Kaoru-chan?

[personal profile] souredsweet 2014-11-11 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
[It seems similarly comforting to Kaoru, at least, who seems a little more at ease now than when they had first started their conversation. Glaring wanted posters be damned, Tenka is clearly a pretty cool dude!!]

They are, yes. We can get tropical storms in the summers, but outside of that, the weather is very kind to us. [Those typhoons, though...

But boating aside, the question earns him a nod.]
That's correct. All of the groups to arrive after the first have suffered through some kind of poor fortune, but mine was able to make it through relatively unscathed.

[Except for the burgers...]
