Welcome to the CERES! You are now under arrest!

Did you think the glitches were over? Boy, were you wrong! Through the last remnants of the digital kerfluffle, the latest batch of recovered code has manifested in CERES' computer systems as the guilty parties. Yes, that's right, all incoming arrivals are now placed on the wanted list, accused of having committed the heinous crime of creating and releasing the gorg0n virus all over Cerealia. These vicious twelve have been working together all along and conspiring against CERES, and it's now up to everyone to figure out if the new arrivals are truly guilty or if they are as innocent and confused as they claim.

In the meantime, CERES has dispatched assassination droids to stop the accused and bring them to justice via disembowelment. So while CERES rushes to stop the droids from committing murder, characters are perfectly welcome to a.) soil themselves b.) fight off the droids c.) run while soiling themselves or d.) cry a lot. e.) ask for assistance!

"ASSASSINATION MODE: ONLINE
OBJECTIVE: ELIMINATE THE ACCUSED
TIMEFRAME: 24:00 HOURS

JUDICIAL UNIT-00345 DISPATCHED"

//SCENARIOS.EXE
PHASE I
[ 00:01 ] It's a minute passed midnight, and the newest sets of recovered code are being spat out of ViViD and into Cerealia. Before the joyful reunions begin, an announcement starts blaring through everyone's computer screen, TV sets, devices, billboard screens, and so on. The image flashes with twelve names and twelve pictures along with a list of crimes each person has committed. They continue to flash again and again throughout the colony, alerting everyone of these heinous criminals. It's up to anyone if they want to engage them or stay far, far away from these perverts and miscreants.

As the arrivals begin to explore, they will see themselves plastered on just about every screen imaginable.
PHASE II
[ 2:00 ] It's still dark outside, hardly anyone out and about. It's the perfect time for an assassination attempt because that's when the information is received and processed by Cerealia's judicial system, but this isn't a job for any ordinary donut-eating cop. No, this is far greater than that. They bring out the big guns.

Twelve assassination droids, clad in armor and carrying katana, are immediately dispatched and sent to take out each of the accused at any cost. Characters are welcome to do any of the above choices while veterans to Cerealia can assist the arrivals, assist the droids, or just sit back and watch others suffer. It's completely up to you. They can also run into the droids on their search and try to interact with them.
PHASE III
[ 7:00 ] Your friendly CEO has finally gotten his ass out of bed, but by then, who knows how many people are left alive? After hearing of the kerfluffle, he decides to issue a cease and desist on the assassination droids, and instead, has his investigation units step in to confirm that the new arrivals are not guilty of any of the crimes and charges listed under their name. They will be pulled aside for painful, painful questioning before being released to explore as they wish.

To make up for all the damages and trauma incurred from the near-death attempts, Julius will also be giving the new arrivals a settlement of 20,000 credits each, so go out and party.
PHASE IV
[ 12:00 ] By noon, the incident has been cleared up with little to no blood spilled (hopefully). New arrivals are welcome to explore and enjoy their new living arrangements or possibly lie in bed and just cry some more. Either way, welcome to the magic that is Cerealia. The CEO will announce that the last of the virus has been officially cleaned up and taken care of, and he'll be issuing a video with a public apology for all.

BONUS
[ why:o'clock ] Among the police droids dispatched, there will be a rehabilitative droid in a dinosaur suit, looking to cure the criminals of their improper behavior and their moral indiscretions through the power of LOVE and HUGS. It was developed after the researchers in CERES did extensive research on other worlds and found that this mystical creature was capable of creating worldwide joy and cheer. It will be chasing those who are on the Wanted List exclusively, but it will not stop at just them. Your character will be accosted and hugged whether they like it or not.

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post. For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing everyone's arrival experience and a FAQ that should explain everything in more detail. Please read them thoroughly before playing. Thank you!

The man's composure suits his name, Sousei can't help but think. Kobayakawa Takakage--and he really has had no time to consider if that means he's the real Mōri clan retainer, but nonetheless, here he is, making us of something very supernatural in order to take out creatures that are humanoid but clearly not human, and Sousei doesn't really have the time to question it much more.

What is strange anymore, at this point in time? He's really not even sure.

Regardless, it's clear that the droid is on its last legs, and Sousei isn't one to hesitate; he steps forward, sword moving in a quick, vicious arc to sheer through the robot's neck, sending that droid head flying. It hits the ground with a clang (which Sousei is sure is not the sound human heads make), and he lowers his sword as the body crumples.

No blood on his sword either. ...What a strange situation he's found himself in.

"I assume you are also innocent of your accused crimes." Well, the rest can be figured out later. For now, Sousei intends to hit the important points.

SANE FRIENDS GOOOOO

Takakage watches the droid's smoking remains for a while more before he is absolutely sure that it is out of commission. Once he does, he returns his blade to its strap at his waist - the threat is over, and he had no intention of being hostile. His spellbook stops levitating and he catches it elegantly from the air, closing its cover along the way. Awanagi levitates silently by his side, the eyes on its mask faintly glowing in the dim light.

"Yes, I am." His voice is calm as ever, its measured tone conveying no doubt. "You have my gratitude for your assistance."

The fight might have dragged on for longer if Sousei did not intervene. From what the other man had asked, it seems that the whole event is indeed a farce - or at least, that is what the other man intends him to believe. He does not yet have enough information to make a proper judgment, so it excludes hostility from his response. For now.

"I believe this to be a side effect of this said virus that is spreading throughout the mainframe of the city." He is no stranger to these terms, after having learned them in Hinoto-Ri. But if the administration here is so ineffective... oh dear.

In turn, Sousei sheathes his sword neatly as well; it's not as if he intends to be particularly threatening either, especially in a situation where he still has very little idea what's going on. In fact, with how polite he is being, Sousei doesn't really feel the need to be concerned in the least. Sure, polite people can be deadly too, but they're much less likely to be deadly out of nowhere. They'd probably give a polite warning first, at least.

Instead, he inclines his head slightly, responding simply with, "There is no need to thank me for this." They are, after all, all in the same boat together, and protecting those who can't protect themselves is just...something the Yamainu does.

...But then the historical figure from Japanese past (???) starts talking about all of these things that Sousei still doesn't understand despite the powerpoint (and why should that help...), and now he's not sure after all. It had seemed like they were from similar circumstances, but now... Hm.

"Is that so." It's a neutral response, but it's not like he has much of an opinion either way. "Is there a way to resolve it with minimum casualties?"

There are people who's pictures definitely don't belong up there, okay.

Both of them are cautious, careful to use only neutral words and covering up any potential offense. Takakage can certainly appreciate Sousei's finesse - even if they do turn out to be on opposing sides, this does earn him some respect.

"I believe the residents of this colony are not exactly inclined to take action against us. All that we will have to handle are the robot assassins which come after us." He indicates the droid some distance away from them.

But now. On to the important questions. "You are Abe no Sousei, I presume? Pardon if this is too abrupt, but - might you be from the Land of the Rising Sun?"

It's the archaic name for their homeland. From the clothing, Sousei probably comes from a time in the future, but not far enough to be of modernity.

Is that all... all they have to handle is the robot assassins. They weren't too difficult to handle, admittedly, but that was for Sousei personally. He doesn't want to think of some of the other people whose pictures he has seen attempting to deal with them. So the response is hardly reassuring, even if it is meant to be.

Still... even if he intends to help those he can, it doesn't mean that he can't handle a few simple questions, especially when it might earn him an ally who can help cover more ground and protect more people. And so Sousei nods once, simply. It's a very archaic name...but it simply emphasizes that this is...seriously a figure of Japanese history.

And so he removes his hat, pressing it to his chest as he responds. "That is correct on both counts. It is an honor, Kobayakawa Takakage." If he was the sort, this would be the time to add an honorific if ever, but...despite the respect offered, he truly isn't. Still, a samurai of the Sengoku era is worth acknowledging.

Takakage returns the salute in the form of a half-bow, as per his own customs. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance." He doesn't know the identity of this man, but it is reasonable to assume that his own significance is known. After all, the historians of the future did devote quite a bit of their efforts into documenting his deeds. It is a shame that they did not pay an equal amount of attention to his wife.

"May I ask which year you come from?"

He needs to handle this carefully, especially given his amount of anachronistic knowledge. The future is a place of intrigue, but it also put his identity at jeopardy. No one usually expects a figure from the past to know so much of the future.

If this man is more well-versed in this sort of scenario, Sousei supposes it's no wonder that he's...so adapted to this sort of questioning. Clearly, Takakage is aware that he's in the future--but then, so is Sousei. It's not so strange a question with that considered.

Sousei just nods once, simply, and replaces his hat.

"Meiji 11--1878, by the Western calendar." Sousei's response is prompt and simple, as he tends to be, because there's no need to prevaricate when at least one of them clearly knows what's going on. (More than he does, anyway.)
