The day was pretty nice, but Grell didn't care. She was nose deep in her newest novel 'The Many Different Shades of A Combination of Black and White' while staying behind the counter. From time to time, her eyes glanced over to Ryuko, making sure she was serving her time for not attending her lectures.

This detention dealt with organizing the thongs by alphabetical order. Of course she knew it was a ridiculous request, but it may give her ideas on how to better advertise her items.

"Any progress, Miss Matoi?" The page was turned, arriving to the halfway point of her novel. This was the best purchase she had ever made.

[She's angry! VERY ANGRY!]

Don't tell me what to do in my own store! [Folds her arms over her chest.] I'll offer you a job if you can finish this one decently.

[Raises an eyebrow and gives Ryuko a judging look.]

If you'll even take it.

Well... that depends on how much ya wanna pay me.

[ That's all it comes down to, really. She needs credits to support herself and her shopaholic roommate. ] I'm only willing to do part-time, and minimal hours. Supervision not required.

As if I'd let YOU be unsupervised! [She mumbles. Even if she wasn't in the shop, she'd still spy via cameras all over the store.]

Why only part time? Did you wish to work and attend school?

Well, yeah, I get paid for that, too. Think I go there just for the education? Like that's gonna help me save my world, right?

[ She's more driven than you think, sensei! Just not in the right department. ]

[She wouldn't ever believe it..]

I'd expect there's some string attached, with providing free education. As for their claim that our worlds are gone, I'm still skeptical.

[ She stops sorting for a moment to look at her properly. This seems important. ]

What makes ya say that?

There are a number of discrepancies with what has been told to us, and what has truly been going on.

[Tilts her head a bit.]

Did you not attend that meeting?

[dishonorstudent]

They were all talkin' about geeky stuff like glitches and whatnot, I could barely keep up.

And then nobody took me seriously when I said let's go talk to the big prez directly.

[ Also. She got in a punch-on with Rin Tohsaka. ]

[With a hum, Grell goes over to the counter, reaching for her bag so she could pull out a black, leather bound notebook. Walking back over to Ryuko, she opens to a couple of pages where she took notes on the meeting. They aren't too hard to understand.

Her personal notes aren't on this page, though.]

I actually had the same idea. [She even suggested doing so while talking to England.]

[ She carefully reads over all her notes with a astounding determination, a different contrast to her lazy student persona that Grell has come to know her by. Unlike literature or math, this stuff actually matters to her. ]

Geez... that meeting raised more question than it answered anything, didn't it?

[She quietly watches Ryuko read the notes. It's good that she does pay attention to the important things. But literature is important!!]

It did, and in a good way.

Really? Do ya actually believe some of these notes? Brainwashing? I know CERES is shifty, but this is a bit much.

Why would be be unreasonable to think it isn't possible?

[Enlighten her, Ryuko.]

I dunno, feels like we're veerin' into mass paranoia, right? I'm surprised they didn't give out tin foil hats at the meeting.

Like I said, it raised more questions than answers, but... I dunno if it's for the better yet.

Considering the silence we've been given, and the information we've gathered, paranoia wouldn't be a bad thing.

The meeting was a success, in my opinion. It made people finally start to think on the same page.

I hope you're right.

...Maybe.

I dunno, maybe a part of me wants us to be wrong, too. [ Because if those speculations turn out to be true, this city will burn. ]

Our doubts have some evidence to be supported, so we aren't entirely in the wrong.

[She would welcome the burning, and even provide marshmallows.]
