( closed ) wake me up if everything changes
Who: Shuu and Hiccup.
When: 12/04 (icly)
Where: Around.. the city.. waves hands vaguely.
What: Shuu and Hiccup got to experience each other's memories while they slept, which is horribly traumatic in multiple ways and some of said ways might involve eating regurgitated fish. (Some others might be a little more dramatic, I guess.)
Rating/Warning: Gross discussions about food, possible gross discussions about suicide, who even knows. This is gross all across the board.
[ Sure, Shuu might not have experienced anything too terribly traumatic in his dream. But it was still weird and didn't feel like a normal dream and no matter how many of the sweets he devoured in the apartment he shares with Kaoru right after he woke up, he still can't get that taste out of his mouth. It's gross. That's not what dreams are supposed to do, what gives, weird place.
It's left Shuu in a rather grumpy mood.. even if it's a very childish kind of grumpy. You know, the kind where he goes out into the city frowning at basically everything, dragging his own feet, occasionally moving his fingers over his tongue like that might get rid of the taste even now. (It doesn't help anything.)
It goes on for a while, him wandering around like that.. until he spots something familiar yet not while wandering. That thing, that dragon -- that thing was definitely in the dream, right?!
It takes Shuu less than a second to make up his mind, and he's already stomping over to the dragon and the guy standing there, looking like he's about to blow his top. Not that it looks very intimidating with his very boy-ish looks, but... well. You know. ]
You..! Do you have something to do with all of this?! [ LIKE MAKING HIM EAT GROSS SHIT, THE WORST CRIME POSSIBLE.. ]

maybe that's why that dream's still in his mind, even now. he should've just shrugged it off, but it was so...
... unexpected, like the small kid currently making his way over looking very, very angry. when hiccup snaps into attention, the first thing he does is run through what shuu could possibly mean by "this"--honestly, he'd just been standing here with toothless, who was currently consuming a small pile of fish on the ground.
is that what he meant? littering??? ]
Uh, what? No-- yes, but don't worry. He's going to finish all of... [ a vague gesture to the big fish pile.
he is way too distracted to deal with angry people right now. at least toothless responds the same as always, which is with a small raise of the head and a slight expand of the wings in curiosity. ] He won't even leave the bones behind.

And then what, make other people eat it again?!
[ Apparently someone here has very specific issues with dragons.. or, well, it's actually more just that he experienced Hiccup's memory, but it's not like he puts the links together that quickly to realise it's the case. ]
no subject
should he walk away? no, maybe... ]
Iiii think you have the wrong person. And dragon. [ is his explanation that makes no sense. he's pretty sure there's no other dragons out here. or. one-legged vikings.
he really is trying to seem as diplomatic and calm as he can be in the face of angry short people. ] Because we have no idea what you're talking about. Though we do know it sounds disgusting.
[ ... and familiar. but that's besides the point. ]

Like this, for example. Because even though the other is saying all of that, Shuu is so convinced this guy has something to do with that weird and gross dream. He doesn't know how a human would be capable of causing that, but hey, rationality is for people who don't want to immediately take their annoyances out on others! ]
I saw that dragon in my dream last night. Are you saying there are more than just that one out here? [ Maybe in ViViD, but dragons sure aren't a common sight in the city itself..
(He's also progressively seeming more annoyed by the moment.) ]
Do I need to show you what happens when you lie to a demon..?!
no subject
though the... er. demon's words certainly do trigger some kind of questioning in his head. at least he's familiar enough with the odd types this place collects, so the fact that shuu's a demon is one of the few things he doesn't have to question mark at.
at "that dragon", toothless perks up, but continues to pick at his meal. why. why is this hiccup's life. ]
No. No, you don't, because I'm not lying. At least, about not knowing what you're talking about, I don't know about other dragons-- [ if anything he should be accusing shuu of lying because who sees toothless in their dreams, maybe they flew too close to his window.
oh look, he's babbling, maybe he should focus on the interesting point in the threats slung at him. ] --But since I have a feeling that you won't believe me and you'll show me anyway, just-- what exactly did you see, in that dream? If you could answer that first so we can try to figure this out, that'd be great.
[ where is his sense of self-preservation ha. ha ha!
but yeah, that "weird dreams" thing sure is a familiar topic, and... considering how real his felt... ]

But it's honestly a good thing that Shuu is so annoyed about that dream that he wants to find out what's up with it first before just straight up killing this guy.. it keeps him from using violence. For now, anyway, but it's not like he can get much of an explanation out of this guy if he's already dead - so instead Shuu just looks annoyed even now. ]
Don't say it like we need to figure it out, you're the one who should!
[ Do all the work for him?! Gosh, isn't this how this works, Hiccup, Shuu can't do work or take responsibility.. ever.. ]
It was some weird dream where I was approaching that thing, but when it growled I was too scared to even use my knife against it? And then I was scared when it tried to approach me, so instead I fed it the fish..
Ma-n, what a lame dream. I'm not that much of a wuss at all. [ At least that's true - not even a dragon could scare Shuu. But it helps that he's not exactly human himself. ]
And then it threw the fish back up and I had to eat it instead! What's up with that, huh?!
no subject
he's silent for a bit after the explanation comes, taking that all in. that's... it was a while ago, sure, but-- there was no forgetting one of the first times he approached toothless, and that sounded exactly like one of those times.
that's. awkward. just a little awkward. more awkward than things already were--
thanks for calling him a wuss??? ]
That's... [ ... ] So we've confirmed you actually do have the right dragon and person.
[ how does he even. ]
Let me... just say again that I know about as much as you do about what's going on--which is, uh, nothing. Apparently. [ disclaimer, before shuu probably tries to kill him. ] But that sounded like you dreamt about something that happened to me.
[ a pause as he continues, a little more hesitantly: ]
And if that's true, I might have dreamt about something that happened to you. Or someone else, I don't know.
[ RIP in peace, himself. it was-- a pretty personal thing he saw. a pretty sad thing, and here shuu is dreaming about eating fish. talk about the most fair of trades. ]
no subject
But thankfully Shuu's potential murder attempts are stopped by what else Hiccup says. He saw something that happened to him.. in his dreams? A stranger's memory - a human's memory, on top of it? How is that even possible? Weird things have happened in this place before, but that's a little..
Before he delves into that, there's an even more important matter. ]
What was it that you dreamt of?
[ Not that Shuu has a lot he would mind people in general seeing, but.. well, humans are a different story. ]
