![]() It's been a whole month without any new arrivals. Who knows why? If you ask CERES, they won't bother with any in-depth explanations. They will simply claim that none of the code out there has been responding to their recovery methods, so they had to rework a lot of their technology. However, after several weeks of grueling work, they have finally experienced success! A fresh new batch of faces is coming in, and to celebrate their arrival and the real upcoming holidays, CEO Julius Vincere has arranged for a Christmas-themed carnival for all to enjoy. Those who arrive will wake up in Cerealia and be given a long, boring explanation and powerpoint as per usual before being ushered onto a bus (there is no escape. The robots will force you onto the bus one way or another). You will be unwillingly carted to the theme park where you will be immediately assaulted by a giant array of lights followed by several rides that you can enjoy. After you disembark from the bus, one of the snowman robots will be waiting to give you tickets to the rides and show you around as part of the Grand Opening. The amusement park will remain open for the rest of the month of December so anyone can visit as they please. The first couple tickets will also be on the house for new arrivals, but the rest will have to be bought with credits, so choose wisely! (Or try and sneak into the rides -- then face the wrath of the snowman robots and their snowman firearms :D)

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing what's going on right here and feel free to consult the FAQ if needed. Please leave any lingering questions in the OOC post, and we'll answer them as soon as we can. If this post goes into overflow, we will make a new one to deal with the ever-hated captcha! Hubert Oswell | Tales of Graces | Open!
Leia
[She’s right, it’s like it never happened, yet the pain of being thrown down is definitely still there. Though this is still not a mystery he wants to solve. Again he puts his hand on the mirror to guide with touch as opposed to his eyes. The exit is his goal now as he looks back to the girl who seems to be shaken up. Anyone would be. Hubert is, but he’s definitely not showing it – just showing signs that he’s unaffected by it all.]
Follow me, I’ll find an exit.
[At least he is making progress or he thinks he is as he physically prompts the girl to follow him as well, waving at her to come near him. He wonders if he should be polite and mention his name, but he’s not here to be nice. He’s not here to make friends – he just wants out. Though manners dictate that at least giving one’s name is the proper thing to do. So he’ll speak just so there’s at least that to keep them both entertained and not fear if there’s going to be yet another one of those surprise attacks.]
I’m afraid I’ve been rude and haven’t introduced myself. I am Hubert Oswell.
[He looks back to her, giving a nod of his head.]

He's convincing like a leader should be, that's for sure, and Leia already believes in him.]
I totally forgot, too. We were a bit busy, huh? [She laughs a bit, taking deep breaths. In a much more cheerful voice than before:] I'm Leia. Leia Rolando.
Don't worry, I'll help!
no subject
Though he keeps moving forward, even at points making small marks on the mirrors or leaving scrapes on the ground with one of his blades to indicate they've already passed a point in case they find themselves going in circles. Though, thankfully, they haven't.]
Allow me to do the work. I believe I can find a way out.
[See, if it were Pascal he'd believe in her. But she's not Pascal. She's some girl he just met and quite frankly, he doesn't trust her yet.] I would pray that you just have faith in me, Miss Leia, for the time being.
[Basically 'stay out of my way, woman', but in a nicer tone.]
no subject
Her expression sours a bit, but the last thing she wants to start is some dumb argument with a stranger.]
Sure. Of course.
[The sound of his blade, which had been so comforting before, suddenly make her a bit uneasy. But she doesn't let it show.
She'll make it through. She has to, with or without him.]
You do your thing, and I'll do mine.
[She takes a deep breath and closes her eyes at that point and starts to chant while still following behind him. She clings to her staff like a lifeline, and in mere moments, a green glow begins to emit.
Her bruises and cuts begin to heal and close--and so do Hubert's.]

Lily
[Riiight. He’s still assuming like a chain to chain a dog to a fence or something similar.]
Yes, I suppose one would want a strong chain, though does its appearance really matter?
Sorry for delay!
There are lots of different types! They all have different powers too.
you're fine o/
I'm starting to believe that what you are calling a chain and what I know as a chain are two different things.

Zara
[He’s old and crotchety on the outside, that counts right? It protects his youth that still exists in the inside. But yes, he will wait. Just in case it is something embarrassing like a comic book or a figure that will out his hobbies.]
Yes, what I asked for is private.
[Not even knowing that what he said could lead to innuendo (and given the gifts… well…)]
no subject
Oh, I... see. My apologies for being nosy. You certainly shouldn't take that out in public.
no subject
[He's unaware of the hole he dug himself into at the moment. Given he does not know the context of his new setting, he's unaware that they'd even think of giving people such items that could not be revealed to the public eye.]
no subject
By any chance... Do you recognize these festivities? I assume it's some sort of holiday, but none that I'm familiar with.

Mireu
[Do people really need to sit next to him? Is this entirely necessary? Can he not sulk by myself and absolutely despise the situation he is in? It’s like people swear he is social or something! Given the scowl he knows he’s wearing, he’d think it’d ward people off!]
Yes, I’ve been taken here against my own will and shown a presentation of my world possibly being annihilated. I couldn’t be in a better mood.
[The sarcasm is strong in this one.]
no subject
Mireu grins widely at that, like this is some kind of funny joke. Mostly because to him? It is. He's still struggling with the concept of his world being destroyed, in that he's refused too accept the fact that people on his world are being wiped out like that. It makes it easier to take everything in stride when you think it's all one big hoax. ]
Annihilated for now. Don't they just need the right codes to get everything back on track?
no subject
[There's a small silence after his almost unseemingly calm response before he snaps.]
Do you believe that I'd accept such a reasoning with ease!? [If it came from Pascal, he would. From a stranger, no, not really. Clearly, he is not accepting of such a calm explanation. Who would so readily? Of course, he believes it's part of a hoax as well, but clearly it doesn't have him calm right now. That normally stoic expression is shaken up by this whole ordeal.]
no subject
Leaning back in his seat, Mireu actually has to turn his head to the side for a moment to keep from laughing. Too rich. This reaction was just too good. Fifteen seconds to compose himself, and he's back in the game. ]
Why not? If they brought us all here with no problem, shouldn't they be able to fix a world or two with just a little more work?

Makoto
[He’s about to make a sarcastic remark, but he can see just by his expression that he’s also seen the same presentation and likely isn’t able to make heads or tails of it. Hubert’s rather aloof, but at least he has some human decency not to be rude to someone who appears to be suffering. And besides, it might be a good time to talk to someone about what they saw.]
Yes, it was a rather interesting presentation. Though given its contents, I’m not entirely sure if I am to believe it.
no subject
[ If nothing else, he's assuaged by the fact that Hubert's indulging him for the ridiculousness that constitutes their current situation. Barring the mandhandling treatment the robots were inclined to bestow on every new arrival, he would've been half-inclined to head on the bus himself, if just to find a way to rationalize. Dropping his chin in his palm, he keeps his gaze pinned on the upholstery with an intense fixation. ]
It doesn't seem real. There must be some other reason! ... It's kind of hard to believe it's all just an elaborate ruse, though.
no subject
[Of course, Hubert wants to flip out too, but no use having two people do that right now. Instead, he uses this time to attempt to remain calm and reason through this. Ugh, if only Pascal were here, she would be able to reason through this with her technological expertise. Though there is an expression of agitation on Hubert's face, but he chooses not to look at the other person, instead choosing to stare out the window. Though his expression may be able to be seen by the reflection.]

Pascal
[Pascal’s placid response to him certainly threw him off, then again he didn’t think she’d exactly get embarrassed by all this. Still, the fact she’s telling him that it’s there so he practices such things safely. It’s with an awkward cough that Hubert discards both gifts on a nearby bench. He’s sure someone else will have a use for them – at least more than his and whatever wet dreams he might have.
So yeah, he’s not doing it.]
If you wish to satisfy your curiosity, you may. However, I have chosen not to.
[If one is a condom, based on the weight of the other one, it may very well be a bottle of lubricant.]
no subject
... Yup. That sure is a vibrator. Well that's about what you'd expect after the first one and when she pulls it from the box she's giving it some curious looks. Then she grins triumphantly.] Oh well but at least this one could be totally useful.
[What she actually means is that she can take it apart and use the machine parts inside of it for other projects but that's definitely not what it sounds like.
And then carrying it on as if that wasn't awkward at all (while also tucking the offending item in her bag) she continues,] Don't worry! There's a lot of stores in the shopping district that sell better stuff. [She's talking about actual non-sex toy things but again fails to make this explicitly clear.
So yeah good luck, Hubert.]
no subject
[Hubert is completely flushed right now as she appears to be thrilled with the gift. And it'd be totally useful? What does she do that he doesn't know about? She never expressed interest in such activities before to the point that he's not even thinking about the fact that it's a machine she can take apart.]
Wh-what do you mean there are better stores around here? Just what kind of immoral activities have you started to partake in with and with who?
[He wants names so he can establish himself as the alpha wolf of Pascal. And who would stick around her when she's so smelly anyway? He'd think that'd be a natural repellent for any potential mates!]

I will probably wait until I reach my quarters until I choose to discard it. I don’t wish to offend them by discarding it in public.
